============= REASON FOR BUYING =============I have owned and played every single version of this wonderful franchise of games. That includes completing every Everybody’s Golf title along with its Japanese/US counterpart Hot Shots Golf. This game is NOT an EA Sports title and is not lifelike at all, what this title brings is a fun and entertaining Golfing experience that is lots of fun in both single and multiplayer.============= CREATE YOUR OWN CHARACTER =============In previous versions you had the VS Mode where you beat characters and as you beat them you could then play as them, and improve their stats.(See pics 4-5)In this version of Everybody’s Golf you make your own character and the more you play the better his club stats get.============= CONTROLS AND PICKING UP THE GAME =============Exactly the same as every other version of this game. You aim, the use the X button to hit the shot and start the power gauge. You then press X one more time to stop on the power level, then press X again as the power meter comes back to the impact section to set your impact. 3 simple clicks! As mentioned, I've played every version and it's the same gameplay and skill so I was already chipping in Birdies and Eagles on day 1!============= GOLF ISLAND =============The concept of the game is you have your own world with portals to different modes. This is called GOLF ISLAND (PIC 1). You can walk about (or drive in a caddy once you unlock it) and talk to people and take part in small challenges about your island. The island has many places but the main ones I've seen so far are:Golf Quiz - There's a part where you partake in a Golf quiz, you can enter one at any point, once you've answered all Questions correctly (simple gold questions) he then tells you to come back once you're at level 3. I did not receive any gifts for this and am still waiting to see how this section pans outChallenge mode section - Here is where you play matches and unlock characters and improve your score.ATM/Bank machines - There are 2 of these that allow you to access your home options (same as pressing the option key at any time) and also SOLO stroke play. In the latter you can play 9/18 hole matches on any course to improve your stats on both the course and the club============= IMPROVING YOUR STATS =============This is achieved by playing and replaying the same courses in different modes. You start with a basic set of clubs and a ball and a player that can drive 200 odd yards (Not great for those pesky par 5's!)You start at level 1, you must play 3-4 round (9 holes front and back) with different modes (small cup, normal cup, large cup, long tee etc.) and each time you win you get EXP points. Once you play 3-4 rounds you unlock a character, then you can go to the VS mode and beat that character and upgrade. On each level you seem to play a golf team. Each team consists of 3 players, a normal player, the vice-captain and the captain. Beat all three and you move up a level and have to repeat the above process. The great thing about the VS mode is once you're 3 holes up the game is defaulted and you win. The first 3-4 characters were all beaten by me in the first 3 holes, they're really pathetic characters and are a doddle!Once you beat a level you then go back to the challenge mode and play the Level 2 holes similarly to the above description for Level 1, and repeat for all levels and players.============= IMPOROVING YOUR STATS - POINTS MODE =============Another new thing in the VS match is points mode. This is annoying, it basically means the hole is won by the person with the most points and NOT the lowest number of strokes! This means you can win every hole in golf terms but lose everyone on points, how you ask. Well, my approach play was perfect and I was inches from the hole most times and birdied every hole, however you get more points for a chip in par than a regular birdy, and that's what the computer player was doing. literally every shot the computer took was awful until the point he was chipping distance, then he found his mojo at the killer time to beat me in a few holes. This frustrated me but only took one replay before I won!============= IMPROVING YOUR CLUBS - TIPS =============Basically, for every perfect impact you make that lands on the green/fairway you get a certain number of points against your club for the following parameters:POWERBACKSPINCONTROLOnce you fill up the power bar for each stat your level for that parameter goes up. I currently have level 10 on my 1W. Now, the clubs stats only go up as you use them, so if you use the same clubs all the time your others won't go up in stats. What you need to try and do is stop using the 1W once you've upgraded it adequately (even though you get closer to the green) and use the 3W instead (for example) in order to improve that clubs stats.============= ONLINE PLAY AND HANDICAPPING =============In Game world there's a portal to some online modes. There's a daily challenge where you can post a score on a course and the best scores get prizes daily. You can also join team matches and tournaments against strangers.Playing against friends - You can join any friends in a room one of you makes. When you play you inherit your own stats, so naturally beginners will only be able to hit 200 yards whereas people like me can hit 300+ yards so it's an uneven playing surface. This is where the new SLOTS mode (not sure of the real name) is great. When you play friends you get a slot machine before you tee, this then changes the conditions just for you on each hole. This could be things like not being able to use the woods. What happens is the players in the lead get bad conditions and the players in last places get the nice presents and it helps even out the game. Some examples of Good conditionsNo Bad ImpactNo WindAuto Perfect impactLarge CupsSome examples of Bad conditionsNo Gridlines on the greenUsing backspin adds one shotUsing Power adds one shotHeavy rainFast power gauge============= SOME COOL ADDITIONS =============Tornado Cup - Basically a tornado on the pin so as long as your ball is anywhere close by it gets sucked in. (Eagles and hole in ones on these modes don't count)Gold Buggy - You can unlock this by beating a character and drive around the course and your home in this at any time!Manmade objects - If you hit your ball off the course and end up on anything manmade (cart path or concrete for example), then as it's man made you get to drop your ball on the fairway with NO PENALTY - Very annoying for mates when you've hit a howler and get put back near the pin!PRACTICE YOUR SWING (PIC 3) - When any hole is loading on one player mode, you can choose to practise your golf swing while the course is loading allowing you to time your impacts etc. A really nice addition============= UPDATE AND INSTALLATION =============Allow +-30 odd mins depending on your bandwidth. The initial update file is 7+ GB (see pic 2)============= LOOK AND FEEL =============Exactly the same as previous versions with better graphics and smoother gameplay. The reason this franchise works for me and my friends as due to the 3 X control method it means you can still play this when you're a little tipsy or inebriated in any way. Something that was not possible on latter versions of EA golf games or anything that requires motion controllers, as you needed your wits about you for those games.A SUPER MULTI PLAYER GAME FOR DRINKERS!============= CONCLUSION =============I've hammered this game over the first weekend of release and will continue to do so until I unlock every character and complete all the courses.A really super easy, fun and additive golf game that's well priced and can be played by just about anyone!

I just don't understand it! I have never liked golf, never appealed to me, I've never watched it, never played it (apart from fairground mini gold of course), and never once thought I'd be so indulged in a golf game!I'll be honest, I was curious about this game throughout the year. It hasn't been the game I've been dying to get my hands on, but looking at trailers and a few bits of game play, I was definitely intrigued. The beautiful colours, customisation options and simple looking game play peaked my interest, not to mention the £30 price point.I bought this game at retail, simply because I love owning a game physically, having the case and the disc, call me outdated, I don't care! I took this home, put the disc in my PS4 and sat on the couch, the first song that comes on is the beautiful melodies and synths of Owl City! A perfect fit for a game this beautiful, colourful and happy. I customise my character, orange hoodie, black cap, beard (or as much of a beard as I can get, are you listening ClapHanz?) and my black jeans, yes that's my fashion sense. Then I get taught the basics, go through it nice and easy with the power gauge at the bottom, marking where I'd like the ball to go, testing the wind,I go to strike and hit it bang on! What a feeling, seeing the ball fly through the air and the colourful words 'Nice Shot' appearing in front of you as your caddy claps in amazement. I still find putting difficult, I can never get that angle right on the slopes, that is, however, one thing I love about this game, the learning curve. This is so easy to pick up and play, you can play with friends and have such a fun time. Then when you get to Rank 4 and 5, the competition really hots up, people in the tournament are hitting eagles left, right and centre. This game can get difficult, but with the different levelling up different clubs and finding different balls, you can really stand out and get very picky with your play style.I haven't played much of the online mode, I like the free roam around the courts and I can't wait to get into the fishing modes. The platinum trophy is a difficult one, hitting a condor being a pretty hard thing to do, who knows, with practice it may come to me, it's definitely something I'd like to achieve. There is so much fun to be had with Everybody's Golf, it is my comfort game,my junk food game if you will, the game I go to for comfort, although, sitting on my couch doesn't last long, when I'm aiming for that chip in as I launch myself towards the bean bag in front of the TV. It is addicting a great game to chip away at. Colourful, easy to pick up, and most of all, addictively fun!

Having putt around 10 hours into this so far I must say I'm loving it. For the single player side of things, gone are the pre-made characters to select and in it's place is a fully customisable character maker. I've managed to make mine look exactly like myself but you can get creative and have some really funny combinations. With this character you play tourneys to rank up, not only does your character rank up, but also your clubs. So the more you play and use certain clubs, the more you will be rewarded with extra power or control. The controls are the same 3 click based system used in previous games, but this game removes the advance shot mode seen in the past 2 EG games. At first I was a bit annoyed but at least now it puts everyone on an even playing field online. I haven't played that much online yet but from what I've seen there will be daily competitions and games for you to take part in.The graphics are great. I'm playing on a regular PS4 and the colours and details are popping off the screen. Only sometimes do I feel that it's a little bit shimmery but that's because of the amount of detail that is in the courses. This might be improved playing in 4K on the Pro.Sound is also good. I've found that the backing music can sometimes help with my timing as it times up nicely with the speed of the power bar.For the price this game is at release I say it's definitely worth a purchase. Underneath it's cartooney style is a deep and rewarding golf game with charm that is missing from most sports games. This game is easy enough for a child to pick up and play, but also challenging enough that adults will be sitting up until 1am chasing that perfect score.

I have loved the Everybody's Golf series since its debut on the PS1 and had been hoping for a PS4 port for a few quid similar to Everybody's Tennis. Instead Clap Hanz treat us to a new full price version which also means we have a right to expect a lot more from it.I'm very pleased to say that after 20 hours play I can say that it was well worth the money. It isn't perfect but the changes have been well thought through and the online aspect with its daily tournaments are a great addition. Most importantly it is a lot of fun.PositivesThe enjoyment of hitting a great shot is still there.Improved graphics retain the Everybody's Golf feel perfectlyLeveling up of clubs works really wellThe custom character selection very thorough. It is now literally everybody playing golf!Game modes like Tornado and Teeny holes and shot penalties are good although some work better than othersOnline daily tournaments are fun and should increase the longevity of the game loads. Turf Wars is a good idea if not perfectly doneNegativesA bit too easy to begin with especially for veterans of the seriesThe home area is a bit one dimensional

I don't even like golf, or golf games per se, but I love Everybody's Golf ever since I first played it on the PS1. It is so easy to pick up and play, yet has real depth in order to excel at the game. I was excited that it was being remade for the PS4 and have played pretty much nothing else for the last 3 weeks! There is an excellent array of online and offline options, 5 courses (IN and OUT holes, plus mirrored options) and 2 extra DLC courses from previous iterations - Green Country Club and Balata Country Club.I am trying to get the Platinum trophy for this game, as I enjoy it so much and don't mind investing the time in it. I need 3 Condor shots (hole in one on a par 5)to unlock the final vs character that you have to beat - Condors are not easy!!! I've managed it once, but another few hours has yet to bring me my second!! I will persevere though, as it's such an addictive game and I am something of a completist for games I love.

Good game. Agree the home screen can be a bit bright and messy, music painful after a while and also clicking through text speak to start the challenges tiresome but it is fun when you get going. Easy to pick up and play but addictive and tricky trying to master. Fishing mini game helps break up the sometimes slightly boring and steady career mode but it is rewarding as you character progresses in ability and skills. Briefly tried the online OpenWorld which seems to be where the developers spent their time as it is well laid out and easy to navigate around in your golf buggy and go fishing or take part in the different challenges to see how you compare but you will need to complete the career mode it seems before you can compete properly on the leaderboards.Well worth 25 squid.

Had this game for about six months now and I am still playing it, it has bee completely revamped from the last versionit very open world, the graphics are beautiful and the gameplay is great you can play many different tournaments and courses, you can upgrade your costume and unlock/win prizes, some of the courses and easy and some are really hardyou can jump in your golf cart and roam all over the courseQ -Is anybody playing it online?Yes, there are about 100-500 users playing it online at any given hour (most are from Japan)and about between 4000-7000 people log in to play it online every dayOverall i just can't fault the game, the developers have done a fantastic job with it

A great fun wee golf game.. Some say it's a bit grindy and I can see why but if you have a bit of confidence and stick it on "Serious Mode" (press square on the course select screen) it offers more XP and coins won per game.. Doesn't take too many games this way before your beating the three Vs characters required to level up a rank.. Played for maybe 4 hours and am rank 3 already, with one more Vs left before next rank and a secret Vs character already played against to boot. If your a fan of the old Everybody's Golf games it's a no brainer and if you ain't but are looking for a nice chill game to pick up and play on occasion I would very much recommend this.

I am struggling to explain why i really love this golf game. I have played the other more serious games such as Tiger Woods and The Golf Club and neither come up to the addictive fun of this game. It's a cartoonish game with Japanese style characters. However the gameplay is quick and extremely addictive, a lot of fun. As you progress it becomes more challenging, somehow it has a nice balance of difficulty and speed and gameplay. It really is worth trying. this is a very good game that is hard not to enjoy. I find it the best golf game of the 3 i've played on PS4, Well worth a try.

Great PS4 fun golf game with a lot of extra features. Single player mode is excellent with a lot of fun challenges but it also has great multiplayer options as well. The player customisation is fun if you like that sort of things and the mini-games like golf cart driving and fishing bring an added dimension to the multiplayer aspects This isn't a 'serious' golf game and isn't meant to represent professional courses but it is fun and challenging none the less. It's nice to be able to dip in and play a quick 9 holes and then go and do something different.

This is my first Everybody's Golf game since the PS2 days and I can honestly say it's just as much fun as it was all those years ago, the only reason I gave the game 4 stars and not 5 is because I think it feels more like a budget game, the graphics and performance aren't really up to PS4 standards, it feels like a PS3 game to me, the game is really fun though and that's the most important thing. Highly recommended.Additional Info:Install Size 11GB1-4 Players

Love this game! Exellent ball dynamics. The multiplayer mode is great for jumping on with the kids for a quick game. The single player game progresses nicely getting a little harder each round and rewarding you regularly with new items, upgraded abilities and new courses. Its a little 'cutesie' but never takes its self to seariously, and having not swung a real club in 20 years i was stunned by play accuracy. Buy it if you like fun and Golf!

16.10.2017

Well let me start by saying I don't play golf in real life due to being a wheelchair user, So I was an avid Tiger Woods player back when it was still pretty good. and I looked at reviws for the Tiger Woods replacement game Rory Mcgrath's Golf but a lot said it wasn't great. Then I saw this being reviwed on YouTube and it looked fun so here we are. Don't let the cartoon looks put you off it's a solid but fun golf game.

12.5.2020

This game is good for passing the time a bit like a phone game might be. Fine for the price, but not something that's going to be totally absorbing. The graphics aren't fantastic but it does have a retro feel. I like how the controller makes a noise when your ball goes in the cup, though. All in all, glad I bought bought this. But I'll be on the lookout for another PS4 golf game if any new ones get released.

23.1.2018

Lets be clear, i have no interest in golf but i love this game. As always this is an absolute quality game. You can pick up and play or get intensive. I am trying really hard to beat the challenges at a higher level and at the sane time my daughters (6 and 7) can play it together. Also it beautifully and intuitively put together with enough fun gimicks and side games to continually reward you.
