Put onto Brompton 2018 M handlebar. Removing original grip is just a case of loosening one hexagonal bolt in each takes 30 seconds. GP3 is total quality and enhances feel and position. You will probably need to loosen the brake fittings to the bar and move in just a smidgen before retightening afterwards as the reach is a few mm more than the original grip. This is very quick and easy to do just loosening and retightening the easy to access hexagonal bolt on each. Push the GP3 on literally fully and adjust positions for comfort before tightening the one hexagonal bolt on each GP3 Grip. Does need tightening until no movement or rotation when you pull on the sticky up bit on the bar end.As usual by trial and error tighten to no movement and max of a quarter turn on top. If I have any religious belief it is never over-tighten bolts! take time doing properly. End result looks good, feels good, oozes quality and should last the lifetime of the bike. Be prepared for weird and envious looks as your cycling smile rate goes up!

Well, an update. I didn't give up on this item, it seems that I wasn't putting it correctly. First of all I had to cut it a bit shorter, this grip is longer than my previous one and I didn't want to move the brake levers. Then, I removed the end caps from the grips to make sure I could visualize the handle tube come all the way to the end of the grip, I tighten the grips screw as hard as I could, and then put in the end caps or covers. On my last few rides the grips have handle all the stress I am putting them through. Remember to tighten them as hard as you can.The following was my first review:" Don’t buy it, I was riding hard and the handles came loose, I almost fell down,I had tools with me and re-tighten them but came loose again. The handle tightens with a bolt at the end of handle bar, I can’t see how it works but the design allows for it to become loose when you are placing a lot of force on it, like when pedaling hard. They are too expensive not to return."

I've always dealt with my hands going numb and wrist pain in the first few miles of riding. I was using some generic long bar ends for extra positions which helped some. Decided to bite the bullet and get these. I was a little worried that the short ends on the GP3s wouldn't give me enough positions. I was wrong. I love these grips. I haven't had anymore hand or wrist pain or numbness since installing. Now I can go as long as my butt will allow (I suppose a saddle will be the next purchase). Anyway, the short bar ends are plenty for me and really help on big climbs. The only thing I had to change up is buying a decent pair of cycling gloves. The rubber grips cause my hands to sweat and get slick.I was using bar tape before and I didn't have any problems with my hands sweating. So get these and a good pair of gloves and your hands will thank you!

It takes a bit to figure out how to install if you have never done it before. But once it is on and adjusted the way you like it, they are pretty decent grips. What I don't like is the extensions. I should have gotten the GP1. There are almost no situations in which you use them. I have tried to find one and can't. Going up hill you don't want it (especially if you have wide handle bars). Going down hill you want to have at least one finger on the brake, so you can't use it.For it to be worth your while to get the GP3 vs GP1, you would need to be in a situation where you would never need to shift of brake for a long period of time. Trust me.. get the GP1

These have made the difference between me having very numb hands and forearms after about 25 miles, to me having only slightly numb hands. It's actually a big improvement. The bar ends are really helpful for getting a different hand position going, but also for grinding up hard climbs.I bought the large, even though my hands are medium sized. With gloves on, the bar ends are perfect. Without gloves, I use the bar ends less because somehow they seem a little small and hard. I'd say, if you don't wear gloves or have big hands, get the GP4's.Also, I think they look good. These might be the best thing I've added to my commuter bike.

I wanted to try this type of grip as I get pins and needles on longer rides and some different hand positions might help. I looked at the cheaper ones but decided to go for these expensive Ergon ones. I went for the second largest upright grips and they look and feel good. The quality is top notch. They clamp on tight and the grip part is soft yet firm.Should I have bought the largest size? Possibly. I may upgrade later. My advice is try someone elses bike with these type of grips fitted and decide what size you need then buy the Ergon grips to suit you. Don't waste your time on cheap rubbish.

I have a higher end fitness bike that is about 10 years old. The grips on it were uncomfortable no matter how I placed my hands. Because of my work, I am prone to carpal tunnel syndrome... always aggravated by the old grips. These grips are awesome. Very comfortable on the hand pads. They allow for a wide range of comfortable hand positions which is vital to me. The extenders give a great hand hold for climbs. Regardless of my hand position, I feel very confident in the control of the bike. These have been a great purchase for me. I intend to get another set for my mountain bike.

Significantly reduced the wrist pain and finger numbness I was experiencing on the standard issue grips. The handle will slide down, I keep needing to adjust up. I personally do not mind this as it is a slow slide and easy to adjust up and I feel like the slow adjustment in position changes the weight pressures on my hand and wrist and avoids too much prolonged strain on any one area. I do not use the side grips much but if you have a rear/side mirror then it may get in the way of the side grip.

Work great. They are just the right size and fit well in my palms. None of the guys I ride with have bar ends which baffles me. I'm the best climber and I think one of the reasons for it is due to these ends. I think they make all the difference on really technical climbs for control and power. Also, the bar ends make a nice alternative position when you're just cruising trails (can't brake when in this position...). They were easy to install and don't slip (and I put massive pressure on them).

Actually bought these from Evans in Sheffield for my XC. Paired with a Ritchey trail cockpit, 9deg backsweep, 20mm rise, for a fantastic set up. I have quite fat hands with short stubby fingers, so the small size was best for me, but I imagine medium & large would give a slightly more cushioned feel. The ergonomic shape is perfect and spreads the load across the hand, providing relief to the thumb joint. I feel I can ride harder for longer with these. Quite expensive, but worth the price.

Lovely product but be careful when ordering. This particular version of the GP3, the Nexus, has asymmetric grips - the left being longer than the right, to cope with different handle-bar fitments. There is a version where both grips are long (it's called the Regular/Trigger Shifters version) and also a version where both grips are short (the Gripshift/Dual Twist Shifter version). It took me two goes to get it right! Seem to be very good quality items but haven't tried them in anger yet.

These grips are a little pricey and tricky to install but they are definitely worth the money. The original grips on my Cannondale mountain bike were causing a great deal of hand numbness on long rides. I started looking for different grips and found these. They are odd looking but once you get the grips positioned correctly (it may take a few tries) you should be pleasantly surprised. They are comfortable and they will greatly reduce any hand numbness you might be experiencing.

Very nice! I've bought a few other brands first not knowing about these. These are far superior to any. Well made, great palm platform. Nice sturdy medical grade material.. The pkg says so...Made in Germany not China! Smart packaging if that means anything to you. Adjustable ox horns so you can get just the right angle for your personal comfort. Rubber grip material also on top and bottom of ox horn. Very happy with this brand! Great relief for wrist pain issues.

Numb hands got ya down, bunky? Take it from someone who knows about that situation and get these grips. Thirty-some years of cycling and an unknown number of different handlebar/grip combinations later have led me to declare the Ergon Grips the solution to the problem. Workmanlike functionality and Teutonic engineering. Find the sweet spot and wonder why you suffered for all those years and miles. I'd pay triple the asking price and wouldn't blink an eyelash.

More hand positions=fewer hand cramps, reduced stiffness in arms, neck, back...yay! The cork pads offer a nice sized space to stretch my hands out, and my thumbs and wrists are much less stiff (when using the grips that came with the bike, I needed to repeatedly shake out my wrists out). More comfort= more riding. Boooo, fossil fuels!
