We bought another one when our son was born because we thought we might save a few pounds and we really regretted it because it was a very uncomfortable carrier for both our son and us, and when he was 4 months we could no longer use it: he was too big for it and we hated it anyway. We thought our carrier days were over and that we could do without one, but month after month I kept thinking I should get another one. We live in a first floor flat and going up and down the stairs with the buggy just to go literally round the corner to buy some milk was so cumbersome that most times I didn't bother to go out at all (for quick trips), not to mention other social occasions (visiting friends with no room for a buggy in their flats),for travelling abroad (the carrier is vital for queuing in passport control until you get your buggy back), or country walks (where buggies are not the best idea). Eventually we made up our minds and bought this one after a friend recommended it and we are over the moon with it. It is the best thing ever: it adapts to your body perfectly, and my husband and I are two completely different shapes, and you can carry your baby front or back. The first time we tried it on, my son literally laughed all the way, he ADORES it. We went to visit Stonehenge with him on it since we didn't want to be bothered with the buggy just for that short walk, and it was the best idea, since it was crowded! We took him to a visit to the Salisbury cathedral and he fell asleep in it... the fabric is perfect, durable, washable, a very good quality. The colours are really nice. It feels extremely safe and nice, and my back never hurts after using it. The head cover is a plus, my son loves it and it's great protection against wind, rain, etc... or when he wants to take a nap!In short: please buy this carrier, it is definitely worth every single penny.

I was skeptical of this product as it really just looks like a belt with a bit of fabric on the front. but it is way more than that. You can hardly feel the baby you are carrying. Even at 9 months my little one fells like a newborn in it. I have worn it for over an hour without even thinking about it. I just wish I had bought it when she was smaller, so I can use it for longer. Even though she is facing me, she loves being carried in it as she can see everything. She hasn't fallen asleep in it yet so I can't review the sleeping hood. It is so easy to adjust, every carrier should have straps like this. Pull them out to looses, in to tighten. End of story. I really can't recommend this enough,it is almost a good a buy as my buggy and I use it as much. I would just like to say I had a really bad back when I was pregnant, using this makes it feel better if anything. It seems to re-aligns your posture.Update: I am still using this most days, she's now 12 months old and still loves being in this, whether on my back or on my front. I just bring it with us, hanging on the handles of the buggy and if she gets annoyed in the buggy, I carry her for a while. She has slept in this twice and the little hood keeps her head steady. Even now she feels so light. Some friends of mine had given up trying to carry their babys thinking them too heave but after trying this, they want to buy one. Really can't think of any bad points.

My son is both very long and very heavy (10 pounds 10 ounces at birth!), and I bought this carrier after a friend recommended it as comfortable even with bigger/older babies. I wish I had known about it earlier! I have tried the wallaboo sling (he seemed to be too long and never really comfy) and the baby bjorn (which was fine up to about 4 months, but after that I got sore shoulders after carrying him for a while), and the ergo baby is by far my favourite. My son, who is now 8 months, seems very content and I have walked long distances with him and had no problems at all.My friend had a caesarean section and she said this carrier was great because the waist band gave her excellent support.I also had a c-section and know from my own experience that carrying my baby, with or without a carrier, was challenging and tiring in those first weeks. Even pushing the pram was difficult due to the muscles you need to push it up hills and onto curbs. I wish I had known about the ergo baby then! I think it would have made getting out and about much easier. From a style perspective, I think this carrier looks really good and I think it suits women and men equally (whereas many other brands seem to be designed more for one or the other). I also love that I can wear my baby on my back and hip, as well as on my chest.

I bought this product not once, but twice! Firstly for our daughter who is now 1 year old (and still using it regularly) and then for my sister's new baby, as we loved ours so much. It's so much more comfortable than any other carrier we tried, and our daughter has used it almost daily since she was four months old. The straps are wide and cushioned, and baby's legs are in a straddle position so as not to put pressure on their back or pelvis. I bought the black one as me and my husband both wanted to use it. It seems a bit tricky to put on to start with, but after you've done it a couple of times it becomes easy. There are also videos on youtube showing how to put it on easily which we found helpful.I've seen reviews that mentioned that you can't outward-face your baby, and this is possibly the only drawback, but our daughter seemed to feel safe and secure facing inward in front to start with, and now that she's bigger we put her on our backs. She never gets cranky or restless at all in her Ergo. I also want to mention that if your baby is a summer baby, you shouldn't bother buying the infant insert as it's too hot to use in the heat. We waited until our daughter was four months and her neck was stable before using our Ergo for this reason. A great product for both parents and babies/toddlers.

This is the best baby carrier hands down that I've come across!!! Unfortunately, I had to go through 2 others to find this one. Save your time & money and buy this one first! I first bought the 'Closer' Sling but my daughter sat so badly in it that I thought she's going to develop a scoliosis (curvature of the spine) and she also didn't like it very much. Then the next one was the Baby Bjoern (my partner is Swedish), which was OK. But at 6 months (my daughter weighed 8kg by then) I started to struggle as the carrier started to cut into my shoulder muscles and really hurt after 30 minutes (and I weight train) and drained my energy. Also the Baby Bjoern is not meant to be used straight from birth as it is not secure enough. The ErgoBaby carrier with the baby insert can be used from birth to 4 years of age. Megan is so comfortable in it that she falls asleep very quickly. And it's so comfortable for mum that we can have long walks again. Also it is possible to breastfeed in it. It has a little pocket for purse/keys/change etc. The designs are great and you can add as much extras as you want. It is one of the most expensive carrier/slings but well worth it and definitely cheaper if you don't buy any other slings/carriers first. Great Investment!!

At first I was worried by all the reviews about fake ergo baby carriers sold on Amazon, so I contacted ErgoBaby Uk (on Facebook) asking for reassurance and I got this reply:[...] Amazon.co.uk are authorised retailers, once you buy direct from Amazon and not a third party seller.Happy babywearing! [...]So I went for it.I must say that it is definitely better than the other carrier (other brand) that I had (I didn't choose that, it was a gift). I gave up using it because my back ached a lot and looked uncomfortable for my baby's legs. With this one, however, I can barely feel my baby's weight even with the front position (he's 8kg now). The belt that goes round your waist is the key to an even distribution of the weight on your back.It is not difficult to wear and after a few times it comes very natural and even a young baby learns how he/she will be positioned. It's not heavy and is solid at the same time.I would definitely recommend this baby carrier.

I purchased this for my daughter and have got more than my money's worth! She is now over 2 years old and regularly travels on my back in it. I cannot imagine carrying a child of that age in any other sling/carrier! My son is 4 months and he happily falls asleep in it. The positives: Very comfortable for parents with padded waist belt and shoulder straps; easy to use (once you practice!); the children love it! The negatives: we have the old infant insert and it was fiddly and quite hot in the summer. I think the new version may be a better design. All in all, it is a brilliant product. You cannot even compare it to a Baby Bjorn, which is so unbelievably uncomfortable for the parent after about 10 mins!

Authentic Ergo, confirmed by Ergo at a good price. I chose this after doing quite a bit of research and I wouldn't be without the carrier, but I don't like carrying my baby on my back with it or on my hip I find those options uncomfortable and awkward. If my baby is sleepy he falls asleep in no time and this would be great for a newborn with an insert, but my baby was 7 months old when I got this and he often pushes against me and wants to look around, so if i were to choose again I think I'd buy the 360 instead. Depends on how long you want to use the for. It is comfy with baby on the front and I can easily carry an 18lbs baby around for over an hour without back pain.

It is a very good baby carrier. I have done a lot of research until I found this one. Most of baby carriers on the market can not be used to carry a toddler. The one which can be used to carry a toddler (those john lewis ones) look ugly (they look like they have a build-in chair) and weigh 2 kg itself. Ergo baby carrier is light and soft. I use it to carry my 1 year old and she loves to sit in it. It is just like carrying a heavy shoulder bag. For my daughter, it is just like having a piggy back ride with some hands under her bottoms.Anyway, great product, I can't recommend it more. Especially for long haul flight if you need the transfer, very very helpful.

My Original Ergo Carrier arrived this morning. I'm not one to write reviews but feel I couldn't resist as I was so unsure about buying myself so want to reassure others. It's fantastic! I had a baby bjorn for my first born which killed my shoulders even at 12 weeks old however my second is 7 months old and I've just taken him out after 2 hours walking and didn't have the slightest bit of discomfort as most of the weight is on your hips - great for toning your bum!! He loved it, I even have him his bottle in there. I have two babies under 2 so this for me is a dream as I don't need to lug the push chair everywhere now. It's super easy to put the baby in too.

I was very concerned after reading a few reviews on this product. There is no doubt that the Ergo carriers are far superior than other carriers. It is a bit difficult to put on when alone, but with practice I am sure it will become easier. As for all the reviewers who state the product night be counterfeit, I have done some thorough research and contacted Ergo UK, who confirmed, as Amazon.co.uk did, that they are authorised retailers for Ergo.People should be careful before posting and accusing Amazon.co.uk of selling fakes. I spent 48 hours doubting my purchase and doing research and contacting Ergo UK until I got the answer I expected. And in writing.

This is very comfortable and not too hard to put on. I love this sling, a must when you have a baby who hates the pram and you have to run after a 3 year old in the park. Love the details of the larg pocket on the front for bits and the sleep hood to hold the babys head in place. The only bad thing is that you can't have baby facing outwards on the front otherwise a very well thought out products.

This is a great product. I have found that the Ergo baby carrier offers the best value for money. It enables you to carry a child from infant up to toddler with no problem at all. And as you carry the weight on your hip it takes pressure off your back, unlike other carriers on the market. My babies have all been happy in the Ergo. Definitely a must for all mums and dads!

This baby carrier is awesome. I can carry my 4 month old baby in it or, if I need to, my 3 year old son if he refuses to walk. It comes in one easy piece and so doesn't require messing around with too many straps like other carriers I have tried. It is expensive but I can definitely see myself getting a lot of use out of it. I love it and would definitely recommend it.

Put off buying one of these for months as generally very expensive. Managed to get it for a steal here and its been a great addition to the baby gadget collection. Mostly used when out walking the dog in areas that arent pram friendly. Puts the little guy straight to sleep. Will be useful on clingy days too although does get uncomfortable after wearing for a while.
