I've just ordered another batch of this stuff; but in answer to Philip Meadens comments that his birds don't like peanuts and prefer sunflower seeds- it's a bit like offering either cheese sandwich..or champagne truffles. Sunflower seeds are also much easier to eat if you are only equipped with a beak, no digits and are constantly aware of predators. Probably tastier too.I put out a bit of everything; sunflower hearts, robin food, kibbled peanuts, suet blocks and pellets, mealworm... even mashed potato and grated cheese sometimes. The only thing they consistently refuse to eat- is the Niger seed. I guess it's because this is tricky to get fresh enough to be appetizing and perhaps with high energy sunflower and suet on offer its just too fiddly to bother with.Oh. And those suet balls...the ones with wheat in. They aren't keen on those but the pigeons clear them away when I crumble them on the ground. I reckon the trick is to regularly offer small amounts of different things and eventually (it's taken a good couple years or more in MY garden..!) the fussy little feathery guests will have a go at all of it in the end and you'll attract a good diverse selection of visitors too.As for these pieces falling out of feeders... probably not a good idea to put it in peanut feeders which are designed to hold WHOLE peanuts not small bits. I put my kibbles in a seed feeder and any that fall out (not a lot) get got by the hedgehog or ground feeders.I can see my birds right now-impatiently waiting for their evening nosh down in the bushes at the bottom of my garden. I best be off and do my duty before they gang up on me and I end up starring in one of those Hitchcock movies...UPDATE; my apologies Mr meadon. It now transpires that only my little coaltit is eating this particular batch... not sure why so I've reverted to whole peanuts. They sit in the tree and nibble at them like ice cream! But I stand by my initial comments re sunflower hearts; they are always gonna be first choice for most of the little birds. Even my sparrows prefer them..which is a pain cos it's costing me dear!!!Updated update;Have scattered them on the ground and offered in feeder and tray; still not popular. Even the coal tit is no longer interested and the pigeons are ignoring them!!! SELLER-over to you...??? I'm stumped.

The birds seem pleased, anyway. Knowing that it's wrong to offer 'open access' whole peanuts, as parent birds may drop them whole into a baby bird's gape and choke it, I've used different mesh feeders filled with whole peanuts, without success. 'My' birds, for whatever reason, just weren't interested; the nuts, uneaten, ended up rotting in the feeders. These chopped nuts, I've put out with the dried mealworms and suet pellets I habitually use on the bird table, and the birds went for them straight away.Well done, Erdtmann.

Like these there a nice size for the birds, so this is an item l reorder. Update, l buy this product regular but the last purchase was not to the same standard as before so reducing the stars to 4, l will buy one more of this product and if it is the same lower standard is the same l'll have to look elsewhere which would be a shame as the birds used to really enjoy them, with this batch they don't go as quick

My hedgehogs love them. PLEASE never give whole peanuts to hedgehogs as they can get stuck in the rooves of their mouths. Hedghogs can't get their paws in their mouths to remove foreign objects, so a stuck whole peanut goes bad, poisoning the hog in the process. Always give finely chopped peanuts. This product is perfect.

This is great to add to my mixture of no grow bird seed, raisins, suet pellets and meal worms. Best fed birds in the village. No mess and no left overs. I prefer chopped up peanuts to whole peanuts, more birds each get a piece of peanut. While peanuts are gobbled up by greedy birds.

Excellent value and excellent shelf life. I buy these regularly, the tits really love it. They don't seem to like the whole nuts in wire mesh feeders. So I ended up buying this stuff and they are very happy with it. This is the best value one I have found. Would recomend.

This is the best bag kibbled peanuts around. Very clean (no husks) and small enough for sparrows and other small birds. I make my own hedgehog mix using these with mealy worms and I think they've told their friends: we've gone from one hog to three!

the birds in my garden go mad for these, I have sparrows, blue tits, goldfinches, robins ,and lots more and they all love this. I have it both on a hanging bird table and a long hanging feeder and am always refilling!

My birds still prefer the whole or half nut but mixed in these give the younger birds something to carry off and are taken by all once the whole nuts have gone. Gives me more time to return before completely empty.

I was using sunflower seeds and thought would do a variety. This arrived yesterday and today I have absolutely loads of birds eatingit ...am really happy they approve.

Been feeding whole peanuts and all the tit species love them , sadly they have not touched these chopped ones , so I have put out whole ones again as well .

This is another product that the birds love, have purchased for a long time. Especially good for very young birds.
