German manufacturer Einhell has been making power tools for 50 years and that developed expertise has resulted in a small, well thought out sander. It has a decent length power cord to allow easier sanding of otherwise awkward objects and makes it less of a chore and, whilst particularly suited to small, awkwardly shaped surfaces where the pointed tip allows you to get right into corners, it’s pretty good on larger areas as well.Whilst I have used a mouse-style sander before, I found it helpful to handle it for a while before switching on for the first time so I could be confident of my grip as well as how to access the on/off switch during use.As I was sanding panelled doors I also planned how I would get into the various nooks and crannies before I started and basically just sized up the job.It is slightly larger than the previous mouse sander I have been used to holding and I found I had to adapt my gripping technique somewhat to enable comfortable use. Personally I find the vibrations prevent comfortable use for more than 30 minutes or so at a time as my hands start to feel numb.Sandpaper is easily applied to the base plate and equally easy to remove after use via a Velcro/felt-type fixing system. Six sheets of sandpaper are included to get you started (three each of 120g and 240g) but you will get through these quickly as the tip wears particularly fast. Replacement sandpaper is readily available via the manufacturer’s site and is priced on a par with other brands I have used; it’s more expensive than the bulk standard sheets you can buy but that’s the trade-off when you use such a labour-saving tool. The instruction book warns that suitable eye, nose and ear protection should be worn when operating the sander; I’d also suggest some gloves. Having tackled sanding of 16 wooden doors over a weekend I can vouch that even with the dust collector attached a significant amount of dust is still generated.I would have liked a case to be included for storage but it’s an effective little sander and doesn’t need any of the additional (ineffective on the whole) gizmos that I’ve had with my previous sanders. It’s a solidly built, good quality tool that feels it will long outlast the 2-year manufacturer’s guarantee.

I must confess, I've never bought Einhell's products before and probably wouldn't have gone for this (not being very familiar with the brand), if this wasn't on Vine. I was pleasantly surprised, though, and I'd highly reccomend this as a good value but very well constructed piece of equipment. So far, I've been through two competitors "mouse" shaped sanders. They seemed good and were very useful to have around, but with each of them the sander died (with a loud bang!) when doing light to medium work and I'd decided to get something more expensive. So far, I'm glad I didn't.Simply getting this out of the box, it was tangibly made of stronger materials. It feels nice and firm, with a good weight to it (whereas the other two were very lightweight). It also has a comfortable "feel" whilst also seeming of a durable quality. A nice bit of kit.It comes supplied with 6 sanding sheets (3 each of fine/rough), a standard-sized vaccum adapter and also a handy dust-collecting box. It does't come with a carry case (my last ones each did, but I'd prefer to do without if it means the sander itself is better quality).Attaching sanding sheets is simple: simply push them on and tug them off the hard-velcro base. In action, it does an excellent job. The motor sounds fairly meaty and it doesn't fluctuate much when sanding. A good sign that this will last a lot longer. The dust collecting box works well, and is easy to empty aftwards. Though if you're sanding something that will produce clouds of dust then it would probably be preferable to attach it to your vacuum (you can either use the collecting box or a vacuum, not both).I've so far used it to sand the surfaces of two patio tables and the backs of the patio chairs. It made fairly light work of the job and my hand didn't ache too much afterwards. Time will tell, obviously (and I'll update this review, duly, if there are any explosions!). But, so far, I'm more than happy with it and will certainly consider buying Einhell products in future.

The only sander that my husband owns is a heavy weight Bosch model, which is absolutely fine for large sanding jobs such as sanding down table tops, floor boards and the like but no good at all for smaller more intricate tasks. We have recently moved into a Georgian town house which needs a fair bit of work done on it, so I jumped at the chance of trying the Einhell RT-OS 13 Multi Sander for Vine which I hoped would replace much of the sanding by hand that my husband needs to do.The machine itself is a breeze to use and it is fairly quick and simple to change the sanding paper when required. We have managed without too much trouble to buy sanding sheets to fit the sander at our local hardware store. My husband has so far used the Einhell Sander on table legs, benches, chairs, skirting boards and on our banisters and he is very satisfied with the machine. And suffering with COPD myself, I am extremely grateful for the dust collecting box and extractor which certainly helps to reduce dust. The only niggle my husband has, is as already mentioned by another reviewer, the discomfort to his hands after 30 minutes or more of continual use (although this could be explained by the fact that he does have arthritis in his hands).

It compares very well with offerings from Black & Decker, Wolf and Bosch, so I am well pleased.Takes easy to apply 'Velcro' sanding sheets which fit snugly and enable you to work right up the edge and into corners with the pointed end section.Vibration is acceptable, and the small sand collection box is handy for smaller jobs. I would connect to a vacuum for larger jobs anyway for Health & Safety reasons.I have found replacement sheets to be cheap and easily available from DIY shops, so no problems with supplies.Single speed only, but it seems to be OK on most surfaces, though I would test a small area first if possible just to be certain.A little more expensive than similar offerings from B&D and Wolf, but good value it as far as I'm concerned. The Bosch model I use is almost twice the price and, apart from being slightly more comfortable to hold, offers little significant extra value at that price.A new brand for me - but will certainly be on the lookout for them from now on.

I had not come across Einhell previously but I gather that they are a long established German company in the power tools sector. This small sander is neatly made and competitively priced. The sanding sheets are velcro attached and easy to fit. In use the sander has a little collection box or an adapter to connect to a vacuum cleaner. I found that it made light work of the finishing touches to a garden bench I had stripped most of the varnish off. It was able to get into some restricted areas because of the pointed design.A nice touch is that the on/off switch is behind a little soft plastic protective cover which should help prevent it from getting clogged up with dust. The only downside for me was that I didn't find the gripping area particularly comfortable for any extended use,but that might just be a personal issue. Overall I think this is an excellent piece of equipment and very good value for money.

Having owned a drill by the same makers I expected high standards of performance from this and was not disappointed. I used it on large areas of fencing in preparation for painting, it worked very efficiently and the filterbox is a great feature, there is an adapter included making it possible to attach a vacuum cleaner hose meaning indoor work would be very clean and dust free. The plate is a good size for larger areas and the pointed end is useful for getting into corners, however if you want to do fine work it may be too cumbersome. Variable speed would have been better but for the price this is a great buy, one more point worth mentioning, this is not made for smaller hands.

Bought to replace a B & D 1/3 sheet sander which finally packed up after giving many years faithful service. After looking around I decided on the Einhell and so far I have not been disappointed. The on-board dust trap does collect dust & is handy for sanding small areas but for real efficiency you should connect a vacuum cleaner. It is certainly quieter than my old B & D and is easy to use without excessive vibration. The only downside appears to be the cost of the sanding sheets when bought from local DIY stores but hopefully I will find some cheaper on-line.

Although the maker's name ends in hell, don't let this put you off. The sander is reasonably small. It is designed so that you can see the sanding edges clearly. It has only on or off, but that said it is quite quiet, does not vibrate the hand very much but still in a couple of tests with a 120 grit paper it coped nicely doing a good job smoothing down what started as fairly rough wood. Generally appears well designed although putting the cover back correctly on the dust extractor collector is a little fiddlyAll in all a good little sander.

I hadn't heard of Einhell before, but German brand power tools have a good reputation and I see nothing different here; this sander is very solidly built, very weighty; it must be double the weight of my mouse sander and is only slightly larger in size. When it comes to sanding it does a very good job, the sandpaper is very easy to velcro on and off and the small front point add-on tool is very handy for getting right into corners. I'm very happy with this little machine and couldn't expect any more from it. Thumbs up.

Not really a DIY person but there are jobs that have to be done and having a sander is a basic piece of kit. I guess they are all much alike. This one though has good quality and price in its favour. It's easy to use and feels comfortable in my hand with its grippy top. It has a dust extraction system - either to a small box supplied or to a hoover device via the screw-on attachment. The sanding pads attach via velcro which is convenient.Whatever, the sanding results are just like any other sander - smooth.

This is a great little sander. I purchased it for sanding down door frames. It does for about 80% of the surfaces but there are some curved surfaces that have to be done manually with sand paper. It is very weighty in the hands and fatigue can set in especially when using it on vertical surfaces. The collection box does take in some dust but I find it isn't that effective and most of the dust goes everywhere else. Good German quality feel to it though.

Great wee machine arrived yesterday and started using it right awayyou don't have to put to much pressure when sanding. Is a wee bit noisywell it is a sander you expect a bit of noise but. Not as noisy as my old B Dthe sandpaper has a good grip on the base plate, good value

Bigger than I thought, I was having some trouble sourcing the sanding padsin the product discription it doesn't seem to clearly state what order number they areFinally found a supplier after a false startOn the whole a sturdy well constructed and robust

Well packed and arrived very quickly. I cannot say personally how good it is as I bought it for my husband but he seems well happy and I have not heard him complain, considering he now has problems with his dexterity due to age!! So that has got to be good.

Looks good, haven't used it properly yet.Trying to locate some cheaper pads as a lot of these are so expensive.Thinking that we might get some plain ones and make the holes!
