Bought to replace a worn out Mountfield MHJ2424. I had suspicions they were very similar and they are, same engine, frame, handle etc, just different design touches, auto choke off for the Einhell, blade cut etc for each brand.For normal non commercial use, these machines make a good balance between performance and cost, As long as you use top quality 2 stroke and follow the maintenance and over winter lay up instructions they will give a number of years use.I prefer the Einhell over the Mountfield, performance is the same but some of the design touches are better and it has a 2 year warranty against 1 for the Mountfield.Update September 17Over a year on, and it has had many hours of use,

Easy pull cord operation, worked well on tough conifer hedge that otherwise destroyed electric trimmers. Obviously not in the same bracket as high end petrol trimmers but definitely one of the best at this price.

Hedge trimmer works very well and the one i was sent has a manual choke it cuts my 75ft hedge in half the time against my old electric trimmer brilliant

A little heavier than I expected but very easy to use. Starts well, adjustable handle useful. Bought this brand as I already had an Einhell chain saw.

A little heavier than my old machine because the blades are longer. Quality engineering - rotating handles a clever idea.

Engine easy to start from cold. Plenty of power when cutting. Light to handle. Very good tool.
