Beware clamp.The instructions for this lamp are hopeless - you might think it's easy to set up a lamp, but the clamp is very badly made and all you get to help you is a line drawing that implies the screw goes THROUGH the shelf instead of clamps holding the lamp there (which can hardly be the case if you're attaching it to a glass shelf like the one shown in the photo). There's a groove cut in the shaft of the lamp - I assume this is what makes it look as if the shelf passes through - but the groove is far too small to cope with a decent, solid wooden shelf and the screw attachment is also too short for this. In the end I binned the lot and used an old metal clamp from a previous anglepoise.
