When a friend of mine mentioned that he and his wife bought an educational robot for their 7yo son, I was a little sceptical. I have never thought of robots being useful for child learning and development until I did my research and found out how robots are being widely used in STEM education these days. I realized that my 5yo daughter is missing out so much by not having any educational smart toys, so my husband and I decided to give it a try. After researching a lot of robots that are currently on the market, we decided to choose Robo Wunderkind because of its versatility and because it seemed like it was very easy to get started with the toy.Unboxing:First of all, the packaging looks really neat,and the box is perfect for storing the building blocks and organizing them. The unboxing process was a lot of fun for my daughter: she was tinkering with the blocks and discovering their functions one by one with the help of the small book that we found in the box. There is also a set of very cute stickers inside. It wasn’t long until my daughter built her first robot: it took her literally minutes to combine blocks and to build a small cute robot!Apps:Coding was also very easy to get started with: we downloaded the Robo Code app, connected the robot to it and started programming. The app offers a set of tutorials that help to understand the coding logic - this was very helpful for my girl and us. The app is very visual and is almost completely based on icons, which is great for smaller children (although my daughter knows how to read). There is also one more app called Robo Live which lets you remote control the robots, it follows a similar visual interface and is even more simple to use. Although the apps are simple, they are still a good challenge for my daughter and I could see straight from the beginning how she was thinking on the tasks she needs to do in the apps, troubleshooting her mistakes and being persistent with creating new constructions and coding them.Material and quality:The blocks have a very nice soft finish and are very stable. My daughter dropped her robots on the floor several times, and to my surprise, nothing was broken. Everything is very robust, including the smallest parts like connectors and Lego adapters.All in all:Absolutely great first introduction to coding and technology! I feel like this toy will keep my daughter's interest for a long time. The quality of the toy is impressive and the Lego compatibility is something that makes this robot even more amazing. I love to see how engaged my daughter is and how easy she is learning through play. Totally recommended!

I recently got this robotics kit for my godchild (7-year old) and she been just hooked on it! She loves to play with Lego, so a decision to purchase Robo Wunderkind after I came across a YouTube video review about it, was a no-brainer for me. She has already one robot set at home, but it doesn’t come even somewhat close to what Robo Wunderkind has to offer in terms of hardware, software and the learning experience. I am a computer scientist in my job and a maker in my free time, so I have a very good understanding of what a good coding and robotics toy should be. I have to say that Robo Wunderkind has exceeded my expectations.A little bit about the experience:The setup was extremely easy: the little book inside of the packaging supports users in the first steps,and the tutorials in the Robo Code app provide all essential knowledge needed for building and coding.The kit is very versatile and you can build an unlimited amount of stuff with it (especially due to Lego compatibility).It is sturdy enough to withstand being dropped on the floor (happened already as kids can sometimes get wild when they are playing). The battery life is excellent and allows to play for hours non-stop. The Bluetooth connection between the apps and the robot is perfectly stable.The software is excellent and everything works like a charm. It is easy to use, very interactive and provides plenty of programming options. All basic concepts of coding (such as conditional statements, loops, triggers and so on) are represented in the Robo Code app, and they were easy to understand even for a 7-year old. Robo Live app is the second accompanying app, which you can use to remote control the robots. She especially likes to switch from one app to another and to combine fun remote controlling with serious coding tasks within their play sessions.Conclusion: this is an excellent investment in your kids’ knowledge and an awesome intro into robotics and basic programming. As an IT person, I can’t think of anything better than Robo Wunderkind to get children into technology early on.

I bought Robo Wunderkind for my 8-year-old daughter as a birthday present, she’s been playing with it almost every day since unboxing it. We have several coding robots at home: Ozobot, Dash, Bee-bot, plus some other STEM and coding toys, and I must say that so far Robo Wunderkind has exceeded our expectations and easily topped all other toys my daughter plays with.This is a brilliant robotics kit: simple and absolutely intuitive for a child to understand, yet it is challenging enough and provides tons of building and coding possibilities. I, personally, was very impressed with the programming interface of the supporting Robo Code app: it’s fully visual, interactive and very appealing to kids design-wise.The building blocks turned out to be sturdy and robust. What my daughter loves the most is the possibility of building and rebuilding multiple times, she is very excited to come up with new robots every time. Lego compatibility is another feature that she just loves, as she is a huge Lego fan! You can easily attach Lego pieces to the special adaptors provided in the kit, and customize the builds.I can only recommend this kit, it’s an excellent first introduction to coding and robotics, it brings so much fun while playing, my child is amused. I hope there will be a possibility to buy separate blocks or ready upgrade packs in the future.

Robo Wunderkind’s robot is not the first one that we tried of the kind, but in my opinion, it’s the best one. All parts of the robotics kit are very colorful and durable, the connection between the pieces is stable. My 7yo son likes the cute design of the robot and especially the fact that he can bring it with himself wherever he goes. He already showed it to his classmates and they had a great time playing together. It’s very easy to build robots and rebuild them again, and the whole kit doesn’t have too many small parts that could get lost, which happens to most of the toys of my children.My son is absolutely fascinated with Robo Wunderkind and is playing with it almost every evening.The best thing: he can play with it by himself which gives me some free time while I can be assured that he isn’t in front of the TV the whole time. I am looking forward to even more functions to be developed in the app in the future, but for now, it’s already a fantastic toy for my son. My 3yo daughter is still too young for it, but I hope to get her into coding with Robo Wunderkind in a couple of years as well.

We got the Robo for our six y.o. girl and she's been hooked for days. It's very easy to assemble, however, daddy had to step in for extra confidence; and she started playing - I mean, coding - in minutes. The programming is intuitive and fun. She figured it out in no time (took a bit longer for mummy though). The joy of seeing the Robo move and turn was real! Just be sure to download two apps - this is the only thing that wasn't straightforward. Overall, a great set for kids to have an engaging and fun experience, while learning the basics of coding. In fact, not just children - mummy was rather proud of her achievements too.

My children, 5 and 8, are really enjoying this toy. They find it quite simple to build and code by themselves using the bright and colourful apps, they love the little touches like being able to select the colour of the lights. It's very exciting getting the robots to follow instructions. The setup was easy. The parts are strudy and connect together easily for little hands. There are endless ways to use this toy, it is educational, teaching coding and electronics but the kids just see it as lots of fun. It seems to be a great investment.

An excellent concept. Needs some refinement in terms of connectivity and software. The two apps need to be combined to prevent Bluetooth disconnect/reconnect issues. Connecting elements need software updates but that’s very quick. The connections may possibly break fairly rapidly due to the brittle plastic. Integration with Lego is a nice idea.I think it’s quite expensive overall, but for a 6-9 year old it’s ideal. For under 6 definitely not.Some written instructions would be useful rather than switching between apps on the iPad.

The set arrived very quickly and in perfect condition. My 8-year-old twins are delighted with it and quickly got the hang of the basics. Short break abroad interrupted the process but they are itching to get back to it this week. My impression is that this is something with great long-term potential that they will be able to build on and expand as their coding capabilities grow. Definitely a good buy that will keep on giving for a long time yet.

This product arrived before it was due. We had to download 2 apps that were easy to find in the app store and quick to download. The robot is very easy to put together. I have 2 children aged 9 and 6 who both enjoy playing with him. We are only just starting out with him so I am sure there is a lot more we can learn to do with him. It is both educational and fun. Great product :)
