I purchased this book when my baby was 2 months old- she loved to look at the black and white side. We use to take the book out and about to keep her entertained at family houses, or even the occasional restaurant (just lay it across her in the pushchair). We also use to stand it up on the floor next to where she was playing for her to look at.Now at 5 and a half months we've got it tied to the side of her cot on the coloured side and she likes to touch the pictures and crinkle parts. The Book at quite stiff and doesnt bend very easily, its not soft as i expected- but it does have some pros because of this- meaning it can stand up on its own on the floor etc. Some babies are mesmerised by blackand white images and some are not- I wouldn't say my daughter was mesmerised like some of her other baby friends were (we all purchased this book) but she still enjoyed to look at it. If you're unsure if your baby will like this, try a small black and white book first like

I noticed the real attraction babies have to black and white when I had my first child and used a couple of black and white books which were great. When I was asked what I wanted for my second I said something black and white. I received this and it was the best toy I have found for a newborn along with the 'tiny love' mobile which also has black and white images. We took it folded up everywhere. We laid it against the settee and any changing surface as well as propped up alongside or even on top of our baby gym and to the side of our baby boy in the pram. A very versatile product. It is now tied on to our play penalong with all sorts of other hanging things.Great gift and worth purchasing yourself for baby's first few months

The quality of this is very good indeed, fabric is strong and easy to clean and colours are bright and contrasting. however it is a little too sturdy to call it a book. It is a bit big (long) for the LO to hold it in her hands, you can't really turn a page as you can with a book, but it does work very well standing on the play gym for tummy time, or at the side of the cot bed. Overall I think this is a good product, you can use it for a good 6-7 months, it provides the LO with good learning and entertainment; however I wouldn't call this a book, and it's a bit hard and big to bring on the go.

I had already bought one of these books and decided to buy another. I have used them on my sons cot instead of a bumper. They tie nicely to the side of the cot and provide him with bright colours to look at and textures to play with. They stop things falling through the side of the cot and stop him from getting his arms trapped between the bars. The book is quite stiff and depending on what you actually want if for others may be more suitable. Down the side of the cot it is excellent but if you want a book to have out and about I would consider alternatives.

This lovely double sided book comes folded so will stand up on it's own, or can be attached to the side of a cot. One side is full of black and white images (with touches of red), whilst the other side is full of coloured images with various activities to interest baby. My son didn't really pay that much attention to the black and white images (though I worked hard on convincing him that they were very interesting!) but he now can't get enough of the coloured ones! It's a useful toy for tummy time to keep him happy and engaged. Highly recommended.

We used this around my baby's changing mat when he was under 3 months and he would stare at the zebra the whole time you did his nappy. Now he is over 3 months he looks at the coloured side during tummy time. I dont think the coloured side is anywhere near as appealing. Personaly I think he is getting about old for this now. But we brought one as a present for another new baby and she loved it so much they have brought a second one for her to use in the car!

This is a fantastic toy. The black and white side provides lots of entertainment for a young baby and the more complicated coloured and textured side provides 'growing room' as baby develops. The book is excellent value for money, it is portable, can be used on the floor, in the cot, over the cot or simply used as a book. Lots of possibilities and my guess is that the book has a good residual value when the time comes to sell it on!Buy buy buy!

This is a really good product and a clever idea but the only problem i have with it is that even when tied tight to the cot all the way round it slides down slightly! This isnt a major issue just a bit annoying as i have to keep pulling it back up again after my son has played with it...all that said its good fun and my son loves it and has enjoyed it since he was 4 weeks old. I would def reccomend as its hardwaring, fun and also portable!

This is the second book that we got. First we got from a friend when my son was born. But we managed to lose :) It was on the roof of the car and we went ... We immediately ordered another because our son enjoys reading it, joking that they are his morning newspaper. When we traveled 12 hours a car he had quite a fun time watching it. We are pleased and hope that will continue for some time considering that the son is only five months.

This item is great quality and I imagine it will last well. The design/colours are great and the fact that it is two sides is good. The ties are useful, as are the elastic corners which allow you to close the book and store/transport it. I bought it for a hospital stay to brighten up my 4 month old's cot and alleviate boredom during his recovery. He seems to like it, particularly the crinkly bits that he can play with.

Love this. Our baby's eyes were a bit wonky initially so we bough him this to try and strengthen them by giving him something to focus on. He would lay for a good 1/2 hr happily just looking at the pictures ( cue a quick dash in the shower and ability to get dressed without tears!) and soon sorted the wonk out. Folds up so handy to take out and about. It's also great for tummy time as it hold his attention well.

We've used this running down the side of my daughters playmat so that he has something to look at, or for tummy time. She stared a the black and white side for an age when we used it, although less so with the coloured side however would put this down to her being a nosy baby and consistently looking everywhere as other kids from our antenatal class are infatuated with it when they're round visiting.

We received this as a gift for our newborn son and it was so good we have given it as a gift to every friend who has had a baby since. Great to entertain them while changing, in the pram, lying down on a mat etc. Both sides great at different times. The couple that bought us it have just had their first baby and have been inundated with them from their friends...

I placed this on the inside of my infant's pram for the first few months of her life and when she was awake in her pram she was entranced by it for long periods of time. Even at 3 months of age she still happily stares at it and reaches out to touch the images. We have also used it when she is lying on her play at. Would definitely recommend this for babies.

I originally had this in my sons Moses basket but found it did anything but help him nap! My bad!I now have it round his changing mat and he loves it. The black and white pictures really did catch his eyes from being newborn, now he's 4.5 months and loves the colour texture side which he grabs for and stretches to try and see all of it round his head.
