I bought both the 60L & the 90L duffel Eagle Creek cargo hauler bags.Below review was written for the 60L duffel & all the same points are still relevant for the 90L.Only different thing about the 90L bag than the 60L E.C. bag is that if you're flying through an airport with a full 90L bag, you've got a very weak argument to get it on the plane with you (as carry-on). The 60L bag is big enough, and I think the material stretches slightly... so truth be told, capacity of the 60L bag feels more like a 70L bag. With my home-made compression straps, I carried a full 60L bag on the plane with me, and really I didn't need any more space even for a 5 week long trip through Asia & Australia. The 90L bag is better for rail, car or bus trips, just too big to carry-on when it's full. The 90L bag is great, but if it's packed full, bank on always having to check it.Pros:- These bags fold into themselves in a way that only Eagle Creek bags do: making a tidy little pocket with a printed label & diagram stating what is on the inside of the pocket. I've got North Face, Osprey and other high end packs. Eagle Creek bags have the most clever collapsing designs and these bags definately live up to that.- Warranty: "No Matter What." Same as Osprey and others, but Can't get any better than No Matter What- Water resistance: This bag isn't water proof; you can squeeze it and air will vent out around zippers and seams, but the material covering these bags is waterproof and if these were left on a pallet in the back of a pickup for 2 hours in the rain, most of your gear should still be dry enough to wear.- Well-made: lightweight & strong: for how big these bags are, they are extremely lightweight and very strong. I put a lot of weight in mine and took it through multiple countries and airports; not even 1 stitch frayed; I also like that it is a blackout design & doesn't stand-out with a large flashy logo or something like that. Anywone who knows gear knows Eagle Creek is nice stuff, but this bag makes you get up close to see that it's Eagle Creek; it's not a mobile advertisement that you carry around with you, and I think that makes this bag a little classier than some of the other high-end bags on the market.- Square: I like this bag and the Osprey bag more than the round-shaped North Face bag. The square/rectangle size of this filled bag makes more sense to me, because square things stack easier, won't roll down the hill when you set the pack on uneven terrain, and allow you to hold just a little more stuff.- Shoulder straps: of-course; this is a backpack-stle duffel, which is why I bought it. The shoulder straps have ample padding and work fine.Cons:- No compression straps. 2nd biggest problem for me. Even if it adds a few ounces, these bags should have compression straps built in, as do most of the higher-end competitor bags. Compression straps would really help keep a smaller footprint when on a large group expedition, and get these bags past subjective airport staff who determine whether or not a bag looks too big to take as a carry-on. I added my own compression straps with about $100 of miscelaneous stuff I bought on Amazon, but the way I'm doing that takes me 2-3 minutes to add on-top of my packed bag, after my bag is already packed, and I wish compression straps were just built-in as are with my Osprey and North Face packs.- No Sternum Strap. If your pack is full and on your back, the 60L & 90L bags are heavy enough that you really need a sternum strap to keep the load from shifting. Luckily, this is a cheap fix. I bought "ONE 3/4" Nylon Webbing Sternum Strap Backpack Chest Harness for 1" Webbing" from Amazon for a very cheap, they work great, like the strap looks was made for this bag; still, I wish Eagle Creek would have included this with this bag.- No Shoulder Strap. #1 bigest problem for me with this bag. If you're traveling, this duffel pretty much ONLY goes on your back. The way the straps are made on this bag does not lend itslef to hanging from 1 shoulder, and from time to time, I need that feature as I travel everywhere with a separate Osprey Momentum 34 pack with my laptop, notebooks, & daily gear in it. For when I've got that bag already on my back (always), I wish these bags had a shoulder strap to just carry like a normal duffel.- No hip strap. To be fair: I don't know of any duffel with a hip or waist strap, but I've had to carry this bag full of about 50lbs of stuff on my back for 3 miles through Hong Kong streets, tunnels and airport, and I wish the duffel had a small 3/4" or 1" wide waist strap to help keep the load stable and distributed away from 100% on my back. My Osprey laptop backpack has these small, removable straps at the hip/waist level which adds less than 1 ounce of overall weight to the bag, but make all the difference in the world keeping me from being miserable when I'm carrying a bag full of gear all day long.Summary: These Eagle Creek Cargo Hauler Duffels are awesome bags. I like this bag because of all the 'Pros' listed above, but travel & outdoor gear is my hobby and in the 'Cons' above, I've just described what they could have done to make the perfect bag (which I've shopped for and found that it does not exist, thus explaining the modifications I've made to my bag); but until they make that perfect bag, this duffel is a contender for the best available duffel bag.

This survived travel to (and around) India, holding most of what I needed for a 6 week trip. It was overly full on the way back, and didn't suffer any rips, tears, or failed zippers. I love that it collapses down and folds into itself - great for getting it out of the way in a small room! I had to haul it around a lot by myself, so the backpack aspect of it was essential. It was amazing that it was so lightweight - a normal suitcase would have put me over weight limits. There are some downsides, but I love it too much to take it down to 4 stars:1) The straps sometimes slipped, loosening themselves. Maybe I don't know how to secure them properly through the D-ring?2) When the straps had slipped, such that the very end (where the strap is doubled bag) was caught in the D-ring, it was difficult to get the strap free. This was annoying when trying to check in quickly. Again, might be user error.3) The zippers have *big* pull tabs, so it is easy to get caught on things. Make sure to secure them closed somehow!!! Easy to secure the main compartment zippers, harder with the end compartments.

Was traveling up to Canada to visit my girlfriend. This bag is amazing to lug around. Up stairs, across the airport... etc. I had about 49.5 lbs worth of stuff packed in, and no problem! Checked it in. 50lbs was the weight limit. It can hold the weight! Got it on the other end, no problem. No damage, no rips, no nothing. I did get straps to put around the bag to strap the shoulder straps down. The side handles are tough. You can lift the entire bag with one of them. My dad recently went on a trip, and tried to lift one of his suitcases with about 40 lbs in it, by the handle, and SNAP! Handle just broke clean off! I'll probably get the other sizes of this bag. 90L size is great for traveling.I'll probably still get the 120L and the 45L eventually! I've got the bag folded back in on itself now, and put away. Love the easy put away functionality.

These took all kinds of abuse from Qatar to South Africa on bush planes to Zambia, made it through Zimbabwe, toughed it out through 2 camps in Botswana then to Dubai and back to Los Angeles. They are sturdy, roomier than you would think, lightweight so you can pack more stuff on safari when there are strict weight restrictions, great strong zippers, bright colors so they are easy to spot in the bigger baggage claim terminals, and washable. Then, they fed back up into a little square for super easy storage until the next adventure. Ohh! And...they have straps that convert to backpack style so you don't have to lug it and wreck your elbows. I'm afraid my son is going to steal mine!We used luggage straps but you don't need to.

We have this same bag in a smaller size and needed another one for our teen son to use for a week at overnight camp. It easily held his belongings and we liked that in addition to the larger main area, it has 2 separate zipper pockets on each end to fit shoes or a toiletry bag. The straps allow you to carry it like a normal duffel bag or as a backpack. So far it has been durable and a solid choice. Our other smaller bag is still holding strong as well. I highly recommend this bag and we appreciate the larger size when packing for longer trips.

We bought these for a safari with very specific requirements. I studied all the options so much so that I bored k my family members to tears. I wanted to have at least some pockets for organization and also convenient handles and super light weight construction. This bag has all of these attributes and wwith a really great look. And as we first picked our set of four matching orange duffle bags off the baggage carousel my husband and son both took the time to say they were a very good purchase.

Great bag. Bigger than it seems. I couldn't believe how much stuff I could get in it. I would give it 5 stars, but the back pack straps don't tighten very where they connect to the bag. The straps just slide through making it hard to adjust the length of the straps. You can get around this by running the straps through twice, but it makes removing and re-installing more time consuming. Overall, I love this bag.

Awesome duffel! I'm very happy with this purchase. I was able to fit many clothes and personal items for a long-term trip. The backpack mode is a plus for narrow stairwells and such. You'll definitely have to check the 90L bag at the airport if you fill it all the way.Wish list:-a small tether/keychain for keys would be nice for one of the compartments-a chest strap connecting the backpack straps

This bag was awesome! I actually bought two, a medium and a large, and packed the large inside the medium with all my other clothes for a recent trip. Then when I bought a bunch of suveniers I was easily able to haul everything back home in the two bags. :) I will probably get rid of other luggage in favor of using these for now on and highly recommend them! Good quality for sure!

5.7.2017

Love these bags. I have the large and medium. Great for multi destination trips where you will be treking between public transport and hotels. Quality is very good. Straps not suitable for long hikes though. Anything more than 20-30 minute walk you might find it uncomfortable.

Had this bag for 2 years now and it’s brilliant. It has travelled with me around the world and it has not broken at all despite being filled to the brim and thrown about everywhere. It’s easy to clean, flexible and extremely durable.

2.3.2018

I am currently using this bag for travel and enjoy its simplicity and function. Didn't realize when I bought it, that it folds into itself for storing it. That feature makes it even better since its so small when not in use.

6.12.2016

For air travel I would recommend a duffle cover bag as mine was extremely soiled and during the last trip it was ripped. Otherwise a great bag for travel and to carry on one's back.

19.3.2018

Used it for a week in Europe - a different train and city every day and it was awesome! Had three people's clothes in it and it not a single issue with zippers or seams.

9.2.2018

It survived multiple helicopter and military flights so far. Plus while claiming the checked bag, it was easy to find! A chest or waist strap would make it a 5 star.
