You need to weigh up pros and cons for portable handheld label printers vs, this type. For me this has been an excellent purchase and I'd buy one again. In general if you pay full price for this one though, it will likely cost you quite alot more than several of the handheld types. But this one easy to use on Windows 7. You don't even need to install an application on your PC as it will run from the device itself when you plug it in on USB, though there is more advanced sw you can download and install as well. But with this particular model over many others, you get a great range of Fonts and print sizes, easier ways to print say labels with an image/picture in them PLUS it takes several different size label reals,

I bought one of these for use at work after our hand-held unit died. It was cheaper than a replacement handheld unit, it's much faster to create a label (the handheld unit had the buttons in a,b,c order rather than qwerty) and as stated in another review, you are not limited by what you can press, you can create custom images.It's so good, I bought another one for home.Compared with a Brother P-touch 1000 I have, there is less waste (leading and trailing "wasted" label) and the replacement tapes are cheaper.If you have a PC (or a Mac) - and these days who hasn't? - this is the easiest way to make labels.Just one thing to note - the tape supplied is only 3m long. Replacement tapes are usually 7m,

Great Product. My labels are mostly for my computer equipment so having a computer based dymo printer was ideal, no fiddly buttons to press.Best feature for me is the screen capture mode. You can select an area of the screen and it will convert it into a black and white image on your label, albeit a small one (as its limited by the 12mm tape) great for simple small icons like telephone symbols etc.Ive not used a handheld label printer, so cant compare procedure, but maintaining the USB label printer is very easy, just pop the door open to change tapes or clean the print head (if necessary)

I started out with a Brother hand help label maker and it was very complicated to use. The Dymo has been a joy - easy and simple to use nicely constructed, with very clever software llinking it to the computer via a simple USB connection. Cannot fault it. The machine is pretty to look at and robust - much like the Mac I use.

Easy to use on your Macintosh just plug into a USB port, which powers it directly.Use the supplied software or download the enhanced version for your machine. Choose according to you OS version. Brilliant little printer which is a so easy to use.Not suitable to be used from iOS devices.

Great little printer. I use it for printing transparent labels for my business and they really look good. Easy to use and set up, would recommend this printer to anyone who needs a small, simple sticky backed label for anything.

Small and very easy to use. Great product as you can print any font/pattern using a computer. Highly recommend if you are bored with the limited fonts offered by other products.

The printer took a little setting up but works well using all the different fonts and sizes. The different tapes available such as clear and coloured make this a great printer.

It is a very good printer to use via a computer for producing messages on a strip which can easily be stuck down as they are self adhesive

Great product and really useful for any labelling jobs. I would have liked a self adhesive label, but these are also available.
