It chomps through paper so easily and I don't have to count the number of sheets in one go, just grab quite a few and feed it - so far its not baulked at anything. A nice big and quite heavy robust shredder with a good flat top I put my cuppa on - so doubles as a table. No fancy flashing lights to indicate the load when its working and a real nice hum as it begins to eat with a super sized collection bin and a little window so I can see the particles drop in - a bit like watching it snow. The castors are great - the front ones have a lockable brake - so it stays where you put it, simple flick and its so manoeuvrable. Its a great toy.

Purchased to replace a much older "Fellowes" shredder that had done a good job for at least a decade, but was wearing out, so decided to spend a bit more this time, and purchase a more heavy duty shredder and I haven't been disappointed.This one arrived the next day and was unboxed and working in moments. Its used for home office shredding, including business documentation so cross cutting was important.It says a max of 18 sheets - this is a bit pointless really, as it entirely depends on the weight of the paper. I always under load (which is why the last one lasted so long), and haven't put more than 8 sheets in at once.Its not as quick as the last one, but takes more at a time,

Ordered this machine because I had a load of shredding to do. It came early the next day. On reading the manual it said that the cutter needed oiling "at certain times". I emailed Duronic and received a reply within a couple of hours - " Depends on usage, if you are using it in an office oil it every few weeks." I started shredding immediately and over the course of that day and the next I managed to shred all the bumf I had accumulated over the last 15 years! I did not put much more than 6/7 sheets of paper in at a time but it was so quick it did not matter to me. I shredded some old CDs and expired cards which it dealt with easily.

The Duronic PS997 shredder is dead easy to use, the casters could be useful for some, and since I started using it (8 weeks ago) it seems to be quite happy chomping through fairly thick wads of paper without complaint. Nice big bin for the shredded material as well. If you want to waste money, buy a cheapie or pay a lot of money for a VERY over-priced "cheapie" from the usual office supplies suspects. When your purchase fails, come back to Amazon and buy one of these...... Then you will know what you should have bought in the first place!! If you have got a lot of stuff to shred, it's either one of these, or pay a few thousand quid for an industrial shredder.

I was happily impressed when i received this shredder. The first thing i noticed it was quiet a bit heavier then expected.Then i went and started to test the shredding quality, and this is what really impressed me, only once the overload safety activated and i put in a bunch more than 18 papers i tried leaflets even cardboard and he works through it all.I am very pleased and would advise this shredder to anyone. If you want a decent shredder this will definitely do the job without disappointment.And i thank the seller to make this product available for a decent price an it arrived promptly. Thanks

Very Happy - Would Highly Recommend - Fast Delivery!I have a small office and just got fed up of my regular shredder jamming, over heating and going into thermal shutdown every 5 minutes! I literally wanted to throw it across the room!This shredder is a breath of fresh air in comparison. Quick and efficient with a huge draw that holds the shredding, meaning you don't have to empty it every 5 minutes.I have put about 6 refuge sacks of documents though it so far in 20 minute bursts & just lubricated it as recommended.Almost therapeutic to use :-)Should have bought this years ago.

Wanted to upgrade from strip to cross-cut shredder in a small office environment. Previous model was a Fellowes strip cut, which was relatively quiet by comparison. This one is significantly noisier in the same office environment, which may mean we have to consider relocating it.However, as a cross-cut shredder, I can have no complaints with performance! Have not tried either credit card or CD shredding, but paper is consumed with satisfying ease and the large waste bin is likely to take some time to fill.All in all, a decent machine..if a little on the noisy side.

This shredder really is a work horse. Its no light weight its solidly built. It shreds the paper very fine and fast to for that matter. I had a few other shredders in the past and the last one a lot more expensive than this one but due to the heavy work load I give it here it burnet out but this one here really seams quite robust and just the business. I really would recommend this shredder for someone who is looking for a work horse of a shredder. If there is a negative it is heavy but on wheels but no good if you plan to be lifting it around the place.

I upgraded to this machine as I run my business from home and found that my small Rexel which was very good initially was overheating a lot and that made me frustrated. Very impressed with this little soldier. Fits nicely under the desk and shreds several sheets at one time. I did a huge shredding session on the first day and it didn't overheat once.The loss of one star is because I find the safety guard over the mouth of the machine a bit irritating. But don't let that put you off - it's a sturdy little work-horse and I am very happy with it.

My last shredder could have probably been considered a little bigger than a desk shredder. It was very noisy and prone to overheating. I had to feed the paper sheets individually which was a frustration.In contrast, this is outstanding. It takes up to 18 sheets of A4 in one go and processes these much faster and with less noise. The large bin means I can put a bin liner in there, shred away and simply pull out the drawer when done, remove the bag and dispose of it.I should have bought one of these years ago.

Having received the item yesterday, really it is too early to review as I have only used it for one day, but so far so good.I love the fact that it is larger than our previous shredder and the paper feed is much easier to do and much quicker and takes more papers than the last shredder. I had a whole bunch of papers to be shredded and it did it all within five minutes with no break down!!Slightly noisy to start with but quietens down and so far, am really happy with it.

It slighty bigger than i expected (my own fault as i did not measure properly) but it's fab.the collection bin is really good size meaning i can shred a box full of stuff before it needs to be emptied.I would recommend it for a home/office. Created 10 bags of shreddings of old papers in a couple of hours.It fits a good handful of papers in the shred hole. and i found it can work continuously for my needs without overheating and stopping

This is a really good machine for a small office. cross cutting means the bin does not fill up as fast as it did with its predecessor. its on wheels so its easy to move as well as being lightweight for its size. easy to empty - i am really happy with it. killed the last one (not this make/model) by overfeeding it being much more careful with this one. bit noisy so not to be used while on the phone but thats easy to work round

I bought this shredder for home after I had used the same model at work for six months with no problems. I have had no issues. You can put many sheets through at once and the paper bin is large enough that is does not need constant emptying. I intend to scan and shred all my documents at home but it is also ideal for any business wanting to get rid of paper records to comply with new GDPR regulations

Bought this on an Amazon deal. Great price and a great shredder. Bigger than I thought it was going to be (much bigger than the home shredder I had). However, it is awesome. I have fed it hundreds of sheets of paper and it has never overheated nor jammed. Nice slot on the top for small items like credit cards and a slot on the front of the top for A4 paper. Nice big bin.
