These are high-quality phones, sound is clear and they are easy to hold, with big buttons and they feel nice in the hand; as you can see they are bigger than a typical DECT handset, I've shown a Panasonic handset as a comparison. They are Hearing Aid Compatible, i.e. the "T" setting, but they are very clear and can be made louder than normal phones if needed, and can be used by all members of a family. There are a choice of ring tones for the handset and base, these can be made very loud, incoming calls also light the display. There are volume controls for the audio on the right hand side of the phone and also an audio boost on the left, this lights the LED on the phone as a warning as it is very loud,it resets when the call is ended; there is also a speakerphone. Handsets can also be put into silent mode. There are 2 direct dial keys, M1 and M2, which dial directly on a press and hold. There is a 20 name/ number phonebook and incoming callers can have their own ring-tone if you subscribe to caller display. The handsets can be programmed to answer a call when they are removed from the charger. When the units are placed on the charging-base they emit a tone and the display lights to show they charging, they won't fit on the base upside down (something my mother constantly did with another make!) If you need to find the handsets you can page them from the base unit.Overall nice phones, useable by all and with features that make them ideal for anyone with hearing loss or who wears a hearing aid.

91 Year old Great GrandMa requires an easy to use cordless phone! Her previous Panasonic cordless has done well but now just to small! Big is needed, big in everything. Big buttons, display/screen, big numbers, big sound. Doro specialise in this, don't they? Well this seems to fit the bill. The screen IS backlight, the 'Volume Boost' does increase the earphone volume about double! The old Great One does always use it on speaker as she sometimes can't (quickly) find her ear. The audio is good, loud and clear. We programmed in all the required telephone numbers, only just two on M1 and M2, the rest recall from one key on the number pad - press and hold. It does not easily get messed up by inadvertently 'overprogramming'.Thank God.BUT,now discovered, each handset has to be individually loaded with the numbers, unlike the Panasonic which stored it in the base ??.Not a problem really, we will do the bedroom phone next visit. On first switch on they are ready to go as they come ready 'Dect paired'.I need to read the book again to see if I can make it answer on pickup AND go straight to 'speaker phone'.The charging contacts seem to work solidly, doing all that they are supposed to do. One make we tried from Asda was hopeless in this respect, and was not backlight, but on the box it was! (or looked like)Yep! we are happy with our purchase, and the Doro 'mobile' cell phone we bought for Gt Nana has been great too.

We bought this set probably 18 months ago now and it has given faultless service. OK, it is not perhaps quite as easy to use the menu as others are but once you are used to its little ways, you can live with it! At the end of the day, we bought it to make and receive phone calls and we wanted a caller display. It does all of that. Who needs all the complicated gadgetry, really?! Turning the volume up and down is easy enough and whilst the speaker system isn't exactly "Dolby surround sound" it is more than adequate, unless your getting one of those irritating marketing calls from the other side of the world, but that is usually because of the person at the other end of the line! What has impressed us is the tough and durable nature of this set. The handsets have been dropped, stolen by our German Shepherd Dog and hidden! One handset was inadvertently left out in the garden overnight. It rained! When discovered next morning, it was soaking wet and lying half in a pool of water. Dried it off with paper towel and discovered it to be in full working order! For the money, I really don't think this tough twin set phone can be beaten!

Had already purchased the Doro duo 100W phones from Amazon a couple of years ago, and recently decided I needed another for the upstairs bedroom. Registering it to the existing base was an absolute doddle, no fuss, it just did what it said in the instructions. Great product for those needing a large button phone with some amplification for the hard of hearing.UPDATE Jan 2018After only 14 months (2 months out of warranty !) the 'CALL key' has stopped responding to being pressed so it will no longer connect to the base station or answer calls, the other base station handset is displaying the same but intermittent fault.Based on this, I rescind my original review, and would NOT recommend their purchase as a result of this.

Set up for elderly parents ( late 80s) as they would not have been able to manage it on their own. Good quality chunky handsets and clear big number pad, display clear and sound loud. Early days, yet to know how they will get on with it i.e using the volume and boost. The M1/ M2 mem keys weren't initially intuitive to set and took me a bit of scrolling thru menu to find ( on HS Set mode). They will need reminding to press and hold M1/M2 keys to get them to dial. Call log feature clogs up display and caused confusion - what does this mean? etc; , have to go into menu to clear it but they don't need hassle of doing that.Couldn't see option to disable call log?Really is a case of the simpler the better at their age.

Bought this for my 95 year old mother who has arthritic hands and needs the large buttons. I set it up for her and she is using it OK. But it is perhaps over complicated for someone elderly and she is trying to read the manual thoroughly and learn all the things it will do, though I have told her just to use it like her last phone! She does not need the extra loud volume as her hearing is OK, but it certainly sounds loud enough for anyone who does need this.At least this uses standard AAA rechargeable batteries. Her previous Doro used a fitted battery that had stopped holding its charge and would have cost nearly as much as the phone to replace.

Generally works as expected and has plenty of adjustment to ringer volume and speaker volume. A good selection of ringtones and the ability to attach a ringtone to a contact is good. On the other hand my wife & I use the internal phone probably more than phoning out and it is irritating that in that situation you have to wait until a connection is made before the person dialling can switch the speaker on. There is no such problem with external calls. One more slight negative (probably due to the fact that we do not have an answer phone base unit) the contacts lists have to be entered separately in each handset.

I have Arthritis and find it hard to hold phones, but this one is perfect for my hands. There is not much choice in ring tones, but they are good enough & I love the fact that I only need click the answer button twice to get the loud speaker on . This phone has to be clearer than any phone that I have bought and paid a lot for in the past despite being the cheapest that I have ever bought. I am elderly as well as Arthritic & I have no hesitation in recommending this phone to anybody. The instructions , once I sat down and read them slowly, were easy to follow. Great phones, great service.

This is such a good looking phone. Sleek and stylish, it is large enough for arthiritic hands but is not bulky. The keypad has clear buttons and are well spaced, so easy to use.5 levels of volume plus an audio booster means that phone conversations are crystal clear( no matter how much the teenager on the other end mumbles). It has a large variety of ring tones which are easy to set and you can have different sounds for internal and external calls. The battery life is excellent and the phone can be left off the base for days before it needs to be recharged.Totally delighted!

Bought as a Christmas present for elderly relative. Quite easy to set up, although you have to set each phone up individually as the main phone does not "send" stored info to secondary phones. My relative (90 years of age) uses it quite well as the buttons are very clear, however she cannot always remember to press the end call if she has the phone away from the base unit, resulting in endless engaged tone if anyone tries subsequently to call her ! Not the fault of the phone, though, don't yet know if I can set the phone to automatically disengage at the end of a call !!

I've given this 5 stars because as a phone for the hard of hearing or partially sighted it is great. These were 2 of the 3 reasons for this purchase. The 3rd reason was because Amazon described it as 'WALL MOUNTABLE'. This was something that was essential to me. When I received it I took a look and could see NO way of mounting it on the wall. The instruction booklet gives no instructions on how this is possible, so I looked it up on the manufacturers web-site, and according to them it is NOT wall mountable. If you want a wall mountable phone this is not the one for you.

I first saw this phone in the RNIB catalogue but at double the price! I bought this for elderly parents so they could have the phone next to where they normally sit. Dad's hard of hearing and registered blind and mum's easily confused but I am happy to report that Dad can hear perfectly even without his earing aids as I've set the volume up high and it has large buttons so he is quite happy with it. Once mum remembered that this phone has their old phone number she appears to be coping with it very well. This has been perfect for the purpose it was bought for.

My old Panasonic phones had served well but had started to malfunction through sheer age and use, one part of the usage of them I never thought that good was the volume, that has all changed with this purchase these Doro phones do just what they say and as my hearing is no longer 100% they are a real boon, they also have nice clear buttons that can used without resorting to glasses every time you use them and the slightly larger size of the phones is no bad thing, smaller for the sake of it is not needed, so these phones are so far doing everything I require.

This is a very good product which includes two cordless hand sets that are easy to use and programmmable with 2 memory buttons that are just pressed to instantly ring the designated numbers and a good memory for many more contacts. My elderly parents find them clear to read and easy to use.Like any cordless, they use power and,as we get the occasional power cut, i have installed an ordinary phone as back up for them to use in an emergency. Would certainly recommend them to anyone who needs a clear screen, large buttons, loud, variable sound and easy to use.

I suffer from about 50 % hearing loss in both ears. I have avoided using the phone for a long time, always getting my husband to make my phone calls for me.With this phone on highest volume for earpiece and the boost on I can hear perfectly, even without my hearing aid. I have had other phones in the past which claim to be for people with hearing loss, but they have never worked as well. The phones are excellent value for money too. I would recommend them to anyone, but particularly to anyone who is hard of hearing.
