As someone who used to despise Tequila I'm not going to claim to be an expert. But after going out a few months ago and someone bought the "expensive" tequila, I couldn't believe the difference from the usual cheap shots that had put me off the stuff in the first place. So I decided to buy a bottle of this as my first jaunt into the Tequila market. And I have to say this is a very pleasant Tequila. On a night in at my place it divided the room, with half saying it was disgusting and the other half saying it was one of the nicest they had tried.I still have to learn more about the different tequilas available, but the one thing that let me down with this Don Julio is it still has quite a harsh taste.

Whilst in Texas we found some places did some tasting flights of Tequilas from different producers which typically consisted of a blanco (unaged), Reposado (aged a while perhaps up to a year) and an Anejo which is extra aged. As you can imagine the price tends to increase with the age and the tasting notes tend to get more poetic and make you want to stroke that beard (virtual or not).This very smooth tequila was our favourite out of all we tried and fantastic neat. This isn't for shots or Frozen Margaritas but for sipping. I'm not being a snob, the frozen margarita is the finest of slush puppies on a hot day but doesn't need you to take a bank loan out to make one.

Have wanted to buy a good quality sipping tequila for some time and I was not disappointed, world away from the bog standard and too good to sully with any mixers. Stopper not really fit for purpose definitely style over substance, don't know why the top shelf spirits insist on this type of closure. Definite whiff of tequila on opening box but by pure luck 99.99% had stayed in the bottle. Would buy again were there not so many others to try.

Quite new to the tequila party. Where has this stuff been all my life??Having tried some cheaper brands/versions I thought lets give it a go. After all, expensive whiskeys are usually worth the money. Why not tequila?I wouldn't waste this in a cocktail/margarita. It's too nice.Smooth, warming and like all tequila 'it makes me happy'

Very nice tequila, smooth as others commented. Lovely aroma as soon as you open the bottle. Must be sipped (never ever gulp it down..!) Try it with a sangrita chaser, followed by a sip of cold beer. One sip of tequila, one of sangrita and then one of beer.....keep repeating (but drink responsibly....) "The Noble Ritual"

When it comes to comparing it with other famous tequillas, have to say I've tried better ones. Anyway, it is of high quality and goes well on any occasion. After all, being made of 100% blue agave, tequila is what makes our life on Earth better. Thank you Don Julio as it'll always be on my recommendation list.

I first tasted this in a margarita in Mexico and it was gorgeous. Prior to this I had not been a lover of tequila as I found it quite harsh but this brand changed my mind! Very smooth but with that characteristic warm taste but without the harshness of the cheap tequilas.Definitely recommend this one.

This tequila tastes great. Bought a few bottles when I was in Mexico a few years back. Recently bought a bottle for a friend of mine who's getting married. It didn't arrive boxed, in case that matters to you. It's the content that's the most important thing.

A smooth tequila that makes it very difficult to go back to drinking what the majority of supermarkets offer....Just as whiskey drinkers enjoy a quality single malt,tequila drinkers would appreciate Don Julio's Reposado smooth and mellow taste..!

This is a fantastic, sophisticated tequila. Great for sipping or in cocktails, its incredibly smooth, retains the peppery taste of a blanco without the fire, and a wonderful smoke that doesn't overpower the complex notes. Beautiful.

Bought as a gift for my husband who enjoys tequila from time to time. I wanted to get himself something different to his usual tipple. He is enjoying the smoothness of the drink when drinking as a sipping drink.

Lovely Tequila if you appreciate good quality spirits. A little pricey but well worth it for special occasions etc. Definitely better than the cheaper regular brand names !!

One of the best tequilas out there for the price. Smooth drinking, even when neat. Makes excellent margaritas, although some might think this sacrilege with such good hooch

Brought as a present and was luckily able to try it, really smooth in a great bottle if you like tequila, this is a real treat to have on your alcohol tray/ cabinet

Bought this is a Christmas present for a friend, who took a trip to the U.S. once and tried it there. He seems to be happy with it and can't wait to try it myself!
