In the world of turn based strategy games, there are two which sit on top of the pile:Final Fantasy Tactics (the original), and this - Disgaea: Afternoon of Darkness (the original PS2 version, Hour of Darkness, is just as good as the PSP version, but being mobile allows more gameplay, and you'll always want to level up another weapon in the item world ;)...)On the surface, this is a tale of a Demon Prince coming of age, but in deeper lies the true message, one of friendship and loyalty, and of always improving oneself to be the best they can be, physically and intellectually, no matter what stands against you.Beyond that simple description, all I can do is emphatically suggest that any readers purchase it.

I had this game for the ps2 and I loved it. Of course there were some downsides to being stuck in my room with a strategy rpg in which it takes a good little while to get anything done. This remake of the game for the PSP is a perfect port, or whatever it is you wish to call it. Having it portable so that you can pause for an indefinite amount of time, not worry about it, pick it up and then finish what you were doing, even if it is a week later--not to mention that this is possible anywhere you happen to be--has to be the real way that this game was intended to be played. It's marvelous.

I heard about this game series over the years, and finally decided to try it out. After I got it and began playing it, I loved it! The story is hilarious, and the characters are hysterical! Plus, it's cool that you can make your own party members and that every item is completely different, even if it has the same name. Plus, the strategy for completing each stage gives the game a challenge, but definitely fits it! All in all, I enjoy playing it and wished I got it much sooner than I did!!

Been playing this for 2 days non-stop, just can't put it down. Tons of customizable options. The dialect is hilarious, graphics good, sound is good. Usually there's pros & cons about the game, but to now really can't find any bad aspects yet. If you like strategy RPGs at all, this is a must have.Will update it more after more playing time, now I must get back to the game!

This is a great game that will keep you interested for hours on end. At first you may find it frustrating when you walk around seeing that all the other characters are on level 70 and you're only on level 1 but it will give you something to work towards. Great visuals along with a great sound track aid the wonderful gameplay. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

With huge replayability Disgae can last forever and take all free time in your life if you let it. The urge to get a better item and them go inside it to make it even better is sometimes too strong.Also still one of the most funny and well written scripts ever made for a game.

This is a good game with solid mechanics and some fairly comical writing that is certainly enjoyable. The main story takes a long while to get through and all of the extra content will take hundreds and hundreds of hours to complete.

Disgaea is one of my all time favorite games and this is a must have. The story is funny and at times perverted xD and also the graphics are great! There.are tons of things u must accomplish to beat the game.

Never finished this game. Got too hard and demanded far too much time than I really wanted to dedicate to it. But it is a good game and if you're welling to devote time to this game it would be really fun.

I ended up re-selling this game. The plot seemed great. But the battle sequences are long, and are very strategy orientated. I don't mind it, but i got stuck on like the fourth battle.

I bought this as a gift for a family member. It came highly recommended by a friend. He has thoroughly enjoyed the game Nd has gotten hour after hour of play time.

The game arrived without any hassles. It plays perfectly fine and I have cleared multiple levels in the game. It has no glitches and its in excellent condition.

I don't play the game myself. I bought it for my 13-yr-old son for his PSP. He really likes it, as does his 17-yr-old brother. It was a good Christmas present.

Absolutely a amazingly long game. Good game but not for those you faint at the idea of a long game play that doesn't change at all in an "RPG" setting.
