[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The rain cover is extremely convenient - it even came with a sample of Citronella soap and a "dirty bag" to keep undergarments or other items you don't want to mix in the main storage section. There are lots of adjustments that help settle a heavier load on the hips and makes it comfortable to carry over long travels. It has a suitcase-like side access to easily get to things near the bottom of the pack - it helps to have different access sides to put items into. The zipped side pocket is handy to put in things like a map, sunblock, etc; Very quick access. The front stuff pocket was great - easily expandable to fill items like clothing and towels in.I liked the top and inside zipped pockets on the hood - nice for easy-access stuff as well as keeping valuables more hidden. The water bottle pocket is a bit shallow for my 32 oz HydroFlask bottle. I'd like to have a deeper pocket so I don't worry about the bottle falling out. However, you can use the bigger pockets and main area to store big bottles so this was not a deal breaker. The thing that I'd like to improve upon the most in this pack is to have a second hip pocket that's actually large enough to put things in. The single hip belt pocket is pretty small and only has room for lip balm and some tissues. Generally, the material used on the backpack seemed a bit thin/less protective and slightly noisy when going through the pockets. Sometimes you want a bag that has material that is super quiet (if ruffling at night, etc). Lastly, I am just about 5 ft as a petite woman, so this was just a tad long but had enough straps and tighteners to make it work.

The pack itself has good and smart features. I wanted a pack with at least one zipper pocket on the side for storing small items during the hike (who needs three stretch pockets without possiblity to organize small items safely?... no, for me it is not practical to store all this stuff in the lid pocket), and with a hipbelt pocket large enough to hide my (small) smartphone (obviously, I don't need the phone at hand to spend my hike with calling :D but I think more and more people including me use it as a camera... so how so many brands can nowadays- in the era of smartphones- make these pockets so small?). So this backapack has fullfilled my criteria. It is also comfortable to carry and has optimal volume for all-day hike.BUT I have to admit that the colors offered I fing really boring :( OK, black is a golden standard, leaf-navy can be said that is so-so vivid (but not my color preference), and maroon is a noble color but better for the evening dress... on such a pack it seems dull. Why not something fresh like turquoise, magenta, blue, orange...? It frustrates me that even the colors of the men's version are more attractive (at least they have blue and cranberry option). I don't want to be trivial but I think the pack with this kind of features and volume is a first option for each hiker so it would be nice to have more colors to choose. Finally, I have the maroon one, at least and hopefully, I can use this unobtrusive look for many years :)

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love the attention to detail that the Aircontact Trail 28 SL was crafted with. This pack enhances the experience, no matter the adventure. As a novice hiker, I like that this pack is not overly complex, but still provides everything you need; the shoulder straps are comfortable and adjustable and there are cords to pull to keep everything taut. It is well ventilated - overheating and excessive back sweat tend to discourage me from carrying larger packs (and subsequently from longer hikes) - this pack greatly reduced that outcome. There is also convenient water bottle storage, multiple access points to the interior, a side pocket, and the cutest pouch on the belt. Not to mention the removable/storable rain cover and directions in case of emergency. I also love the Deuter Dirt Bag that accompanied the pack; what a great way to express that we should leave places in better condition than we found them in. I am convinced of the durability of this product and am excited to enjoy it for years to come (and I am also enthused by the fact that should I encounter a problem, there is a lifetime guarantee on this gear)!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a well made and durable light weight hiking backpack. I love the structure and lightweight design of the entire backpack and how much room the inside of backpack offers. I can fit all my hiking and camping gear easily in it and has a additional storage pouch located at top of backpack perfect for my smaller items to be stored. The support I get from the integrated compression straps, really helps get a even and control support that easily can be adjusted to my comfort. One of my favorite features is the quality of the gear loops and how they are securely woven into the back straps of the back pack and easy to access.I also like how this includes a weatherproof sleeve located in a hidden compartment at bottom of backpack that fits securely ove entire backpack and is easy to place over the backpack and easy to remove. I definitely would recommend this to others because it's stylish, lightweight and extremely comfortable to wear through hiking trails.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Deuter Aircontact Trail 28 SL has EVERYTHING! First and foremost it is incredibly comfortable to carry! The adjustable straps offer a breathable fabric that makes carrying a light or heavy load easy. The cushioning offered on the back of the bag is second to none! Aircontact is definitely what you get, which is essential when hiking in the warmer months. The space this bag offers is also incredible! There is enough space in this bag for all of my gear and gear for one of my children. The rain cover is an excellent added feature and I think the most genius thing about this bag is that it can not only be opened from the top,but also from the bottom, so you don't have to unpack your whole bag to get what you need from the bottom. The hip fins have a built in fanny pack which allows for a place to stash things you might need in an instant, such as cash or a small first aid kit. This bag is easy to clean and made with the utmost quality and care.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When I first opened the package I noticed it was packaged very good and the quality of this hiking bag was excellent. The mesh color is very functional with hiking or walking. The harness was very easy to adjust to put on. The harness part of the back is really made well, the mesh backing. The harness support helps with my posture and helps with me to stand straight for long periods of walking. For someone like me with back problems I would not want to put lots of stuff in it for long walking or hiking. I love the bottom side pocket with zipper so you can put your money or change or identification cards in. Reminds me of a fanny pack sewn in.The flower around the drawstring gives this bag a more feminine touch to this bag. I think the overall price is high. It should be $100 or less. Overall it is a very good quality product with no flaws. Excellent for the hiker or person who walks long distances.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I use a backpack all the time, and it was very important for me to find one that is comfortable and easy to carry. I walk to and from work everyday, carrying my work laptop and supplies. I have degenerative joint disease so I was looking for one that would help balance the weight and give me the ability to share the weight across my chest and hips. I also go on weekend hikes with my dogs, and must carry water and supplies. So again. I needed something that was sturdy, and comfortable. This backpack is like a dream. It came with the backpack, and a carry it out trash bag, which I love, and a "rain jacket" for the backpack,to keep all your items dry if you get caught in a storm, which I often do. I love the frame, and the padded shoulder and hip straps. The padding on the back is also perfect.

i go to the pool with this pack. i specifically chose this one because it fits the small lockers my pool has. it has a stiff panel and a "U" shaped frame made from a round plastic rod. the back is then padded. this makes for a light but comfortable construction. but the reason i got it is because this pack is narrow and fits my locker. i also have a deuter futura vario pro which has twice the capacity and twice the organization but does not fit my pool locker. i just throw all my heavy bottles into this backpack and the lightweight items ( towels etc ) into a duffel - works great !ps: i'm 5'10" male, 220 lbs / muscular and i find it comfortable /fits well although the hip belt straps are a bit higher than my actual belt - but i'm not using them in my application, and there is a pocket "garage" to stow them away.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This bag is amazing. It has so many pockets and it fits everything you need. It’s perfectly comfortable with the adjustable straps and is super easy to wear when hiking. (No sore spots from rubbing) My 2 favorite features are the rain cover which is hidden at the bottom of the bag in a nifty zippered pocket and the zippered access pocket on the front of the bag. The zippered pocket on the front of the bag makes it a cinch if you need to grab something from the bottom of the bag. Now you don’t have to unpack the WHOLE bag for just that one hidden item lol.I received this product for free in exchange for my honest review but if you are looking for the perfect hiking/camping bag, this is it!

I have had this backpack for a few months now and I absolutely love it!! It is sleek and small, yet full of strategically placed pockets to keep your things organized when you hit the trail. I love the inner and outer zipper pockets at the top- they thought of everything while designing this pack. My favorite feature of all is the main compartment zip that opens up the backpack like a mini duffel. It makes it so much easier to find your things that are at the bottom of the pack and stay organized. There is also room for water bottles on each side, one pocket zips up while the other is an open slip pocket. The lightweight versatility of this pack cannot be beat. Thanks Deuter!!

I bought this pack almost 6 years ago for field work (I am a biologist). I work and hike outside in the desert sun every day for at least 8 months a year with this pack and it has held up beautifully. It has the exact number of pockets I need, can fit everything I need for a long day and cinches down as well for when I'm not carrying much. I've even taken it on a 3 day backpacking trip (with a lot of stuff tied to the outside). It's super versatile and I'm simply amazed at how well it has withstood years of constant use. The only thing that is even beginning to fall apart is one of the straps is starting to fray a little bit. Great pack, well worth the money.

A great backpack, excellent quality, good size for a day pack (especially if you need to pack for weather), many storage options. Some of my favorite things: the zipper at the bottom to access stuff that's buried without having to dig everything out; a very comfortable light-weight waist belt that can be stored away when not in use but is substantial enough when you do use it; very firm, arched back that allows airflow between the pack and your back; a narrow profile; tightening straps for the shoulders to pull the pack closer if you need it (not something I've found on day packs though pretty standard for larger backpacks). Very, very happy with this pack.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recently got this bag and I absolutely adore it!There are so many pockets for storage so nothing gets mixed up. This bag is super lightweight which is very nice considering I'm of small stature. The lightweight feature is also quite convenient for long hikes and general walking. The straps have great flexibility. The fact that this bag is designed specifically for women is much appreciated! I have used bags that belonged to my significant other and they are just downright uncomfortable for me to carry. The AirContact Trail fits my torso just perfect and it's extremely comfortable to carry!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is not your typical hiking backpack... OH NO! This is everything you need in one. Extremely perfect in every single way. I'm used to see non-aesthetic hiking backpacks and this is the only exception. It is not just a pretty good looking backpack but it really has everything you need. It is super light, it has a hydration system compartment, it has a waist strap and all kinds of attachments for poles or extra tools. My favorite feature is the rain cover. Something that I must mention is that this backpack doesn't look to bulky on petite women, it is the perfect size for any body complexion.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've used my Aircontact Trail 28 SL for a while now and have had the best experience with it! This past weekend my husband and I went on a hike through the mountains and it was the perfect size for me! Not too big or bulky and fit just perfectly! I love all of the compartments and areas to keep all of my supplies. The flower is a great touch making it look much more feminine while I'm hiking! The shoulder straps are extremely comfortable as well! Overall I am extremely satisfied with my Deuter Aircontact and I recommend this to all women who love to hike and spend alot of time outdoors!
