I've been using this monitor daily for 1 month now, connected to a desktop PC and a Dell XPS 13 via the USB-C hub. Everything has worked out just about perfect for me, however, this monitor still might not be for everyone.--The title is a play on words about the name of a website that reviewed this monitor in 2018, which highlighted two concerns: backlight bleed and screen flicker.Backlight bleed:I generally use this monitor in daylight, which masks any backlight bleed issues. However I have watched several movies at night, with the lights off, and I still haven't noticed backlight bleed letterboxing. That's not to say it's not there, it certainly is, but it says something if I've totally forgotten about the issue ever existing! That said, if your screentime involves very dark backgrounds with very low ambient light, I would look elsewhere. I'd say this monitor is geared towards typical office work with bright backgrounds. I would not be surprised if performance in this regard varies from monitor to monitor.Screen flicker:I don't know how sensitive I am to flicker compared to you, but at work some ceiling lights are PWM-dimmed and I'm the only person to remark on those. While I might be more PWM-sensitive than most, I might not be as sensitive as you are. With that said, my eyes don't get tired after 8 hours of work.To test this out, I played a 4k60 video on YouTube and recorded it using the 960fps slow motion on my Sony Xperia XZ1 Compact mobile phone. I tested this on the "Standard" and "ComfortView" display presets and both resulting videos showed no flicker.Revision:The back of the monitor states: "Manufactured date: March 2020". This might be associated with a newer revision of this model with less backlight bleed and flicker, which could explain why early reviews complained about the issue but I haven't. I bought this monitor directly from Amazon on July 2020. If I were to buy this monitor again, I would much prefer the same or later manufactured date, just in case older instances are worse.--With those issues out of the way, here are some personal issues that aren't anything to do with performance:I work with my eyes 60cm distance from the monitor. I now realise why curved screens were invented: perspective is distorted at the periphery, making text substantially more difficult to read. It's not a dealbreaker, I have to be a little more strategic on what I place where on this screen. For five years previously I've been using 27" @ 1440p and I think that is the sweet spot.I typically run Windows @ 125% scaling and it works most of the time. Some applications remain blurry, some don't. Generally, the scaling hasn't been an issue for me but don't expect things to be perfect.--Overall I am happy with the purchase. I can't say it's great value for money since there are so many other options at less than half the price. However, I generally have had good experience with the performance and aesthetic of Dell's products and this monitor has been no exception.
