Having seen the mixed reviews on this product I took a bit of a chance buying one.It comes if a very small package with limited instructions just a card with a QR code on it to allow you to download the app that you need to configure the device. The first thing you have to do is charge it. There is no charge cable but it has a USB connector built into the device that is covered by the strap. You have to pull the strap off gently at 45 degree angle. It is quite stiff and feels counter intuitive like you are about to break it. So far no problems though. You need to plug it into a USB socket to charge and you need to put it in the right way up (it will fit both ways). When it is the right way up it will display a charging animation on the screen.Once it is charged you need to configure it via the associated app which is easily downloaded. Run the app press the button on the front of the screen and it will pair and initially download a software update. Once this is done you can select the options that you want for the device these are; auto catch known Pokémon, auto catch unknown Pokémon, Auto spin Pokestops, enable vibrate, silent mode, enable watch face and dark theme. The app will also set the time which you can choose to display along with the number of steps you have taken.Once the device is configured you need to close down the app before opening Pokémon Go. It does not seem to like having the Gotcha app and the Pokémon Go app running at the same time. Once in the Pokémon Go app it is very simple to setup go into settings and add a Pokémon Go Plus device. It will look for and should display Pokémon Go Plus as an available device. You might be asked to press the button on the front of the screen again to initiate the connection. Once you are connected it will get to work doing what you asked it to do when you configured the device. Once it is initially setup you will get a Pokémon Go Plus icon on the main screen of the Pokémon Go app and you only need to tap this in order to connect. Please note there seems to be a parameter in the Pokémon Go App itself that requires you to re-connect Go Plus devices every hour so if you are using it for longer than an hour expect to re-connect at least once.So how does it work? Very well as soon as you connect the device sets about hoovering up any Pokémon in the vicinity and if selected it will auto spin Pokestops. The display shows when a Pokémon is nearby with a x2 logo if it is a known Pokémon and a ?? logo for unknowns. It will also show a Pokestop logo when it spins a stop and it will then tell you the number of items you have received from the stop.Be aware of the following. Firstly it only deploys standard red Pokémon balls. It will not use great or ultra balls. I would have liked to see an option to allow you to use these ball types when you run out of standard balls but I can see why they would limit this. Secondly expect if you are using this device in a well populated area expect to burn 100-200 Pokeballs per hour. So you will need to have plenty of space in your item bag and plenty of available Pokémon storage. Thirdly. It seems to prioritise catching Pokémon’s over spinning stops so If you want to use the device just for filling up your item bag I would recommend turning off the auto catch options. Even when the auto catch functionality is off it will still alert you to the presence of Pokémon’s. Finally it does seem to be very good at spinning stops whilst driving. All in all I am very satisfied with it at the moment. Time will tell if it is durable enough particularly the charge point. The pedometer function seems to be well off to me but I didn’t purchase it for this function so it doesn’t matter to me. There is room for improvement to the configuration app and the options if offers hence the 4* rating.

I bought this device in order to allow me to "play" Pokemon Go at times when I would otherwise not be able to. Specifically, the latest Abra Community Day, when I was also meant to be working!Set up of the device was straightforward. I downloaded the Gotcha Evolve app from Google Play, and it paired to my Pixel 2 straight away. A new firmware update was downloaded and installed automatically. From there, it was simply a case of adjusting the settings to my preferences.Connecting to Pokemon Go was just as simple as connecting a regular Go Plus. Once running, it started picking up and attempting to catch nearby Pokemon and spinning nearby Poke Stops as expected. The big test was Abra community day - I connected the Gotcha and left it to its own devices whilst I went about work.I had to reconnect it hourly (a limitation of Pokemon Go itself) but otherwise didn't touch it. And the result? ~600 capture attempts, of which ~350 were successful, 13 shinies and 5 90%+ IV Abras hoovered up over the course of the six hour event (good thing I had stocked up on Poke Balls!) - this device did exactly what I needed it to do. Perfect! What I Like:> Bright colourful display> Easy one touch button operation> Auto catch and spin works like a charm> Built in rechargeable battery and USB plug> Ease of setup> Takes a lot of the grind out of PoGoWhat I don't like:> Vibration motor is absolutely pathetic, I can barely feel it even when holding the device in my hand> The strap is VERY tough to pull off to access the USB plug - I bought a small case with keyring to keep the Gotcha in which looks much nicer IMO. Can easily be found via a search on Amazon. So I pulled the watch strap off for the first time and have left it off since.> Long term reliability may be questionable if other reviews are to go by.> Step counter function doesn't actually add anything (it won't feed into Adventure Sync, for example).Overall verdict - for any serious player then this is absolutely a key tool for you to consider. More versatile than the Pokemon Go Plus and cheaper than the Poke Ball Plus, it's a great option to pick. But make sure you treat it gently so as to avoid breaking it!

i bought it on 28th June and its 6+ months i started using it. it was 22K caught when i connected it then and today it is just above 78K after 6 months.> I use it only for one purpose , for auto catch, so never ever I wore this since i purchased it. i keep it in my bag or i keep it in my drawer when started spoofing.> i never put the USB cover strap back since removed it first time. I read bad reviews about strap and decided not to use it at all. it is not a fashion accessory . lucky we have something like this so use it the way we want. They should design it as a locket or something so it will be easy to use.> battery is really good. I have used it daily since bought it and i charge it once a week.i am not sure if it changes when you carry around rather than keeping it in the drawer.> try not to use Pedometer from it, it makes you carry it all the time and wear it. Just my opinion.I would recommend this to anyone similar to my situation.

Excellent piece of kit. Well worth tracking down the accompanying app (I searched under the developer name, Datel Electronics), that enables you to download a usable watch face, rather than the teeny display that comes out of the box. Occasionally it won't connect, but this is more an issue with updates to Pokemon Go rather than this device, & it usually works fine after a few hours. The vibration is subtle, personally I like this more than the GoPlus which felt like wearing an electric shock collar. Also this seems to have a better lock on Pokestops while driving - the GoPlus would only spin stops at under 20~22mph, this happily collects at 40mph. Yes, there's an art to charging it,you need to very gently ease the strap off at a 45° angle, don't rush it, it gets there in the end. And the strap itself is quite stiff, but since the main criticism of the original Go-tcha was that it was too easy to lose, I reckon this is a definite improvement

I was pretty skeptical when I saw a device purporting to take the grind out of PoGo. Love the game, I'd just rather not sit throwing balls for low-tier Pokemon for hours on end...I ordered this on a whim and have to say, it works! It basically connects as a Pokemon Go Plus, but when it detects a pokemon, pauses for a second and tries to catch it automatically, without you pressing anything + It spins nearby pokestops and gyms for you, replenishing your stock of balls :)Why the 4* review. There is one design issue with this - the charging port. Its covered by the strap and to get to it you have to yank the strap off at a 45 degree angle (had to look at videos on youtube!).So I take a star off because kids would most likely need help with this whenever it needs recharging. That been said, it's not a fatal flaw if managed properly, and it's always fun logging in to see what was successfully captured!

Had this for a few months now and its well worth the money compared to a poke ball plus which we have also , you can adjust settings in the app or on the watch to suit what you need to spin or catch. I don't have it on vibration mode at all and just have the time on the face so it looks like a watch . The batteries last for days without a re charge and its caught me perfect pokemon as well a shiny ones , I use it when I drive to work and I'm at work or out and about . You have to re connect every hour but you do that with the poke ball as well. No buttons to push to catch unless you want it set that way.Had read about it being flimsy to pull the strap off to charge but to be honest there is an arrow to show which strap it is under the watch and if you pull it off as per the instructions its fine. Would highly recommend this rather than the poke ball plus. 5 * from me

Had for a week now, really glad I got it.You need to read the helpful review on this page for how to set it up and use it.If you are using just for pokestops, remember to turn off the 'nearby pokemon' notification in the pokemon go game, as it seems to overrule the go-tcha settings. If you leave it on, the go-tcha is too busy telling you about nearby pokemon and misses the pokestop. I didn't have an issue with removing the strap for charging. Its worth noting my picture, grey slider means 'on'. My pic is the settings to spins stops and vibrate to tell me its found one and then spun it.The autocapture option is good, only throws 1 red ball though,I've had a 30-50% success rate for captures.Overall its good quality and a must for regular players

To be honest, you do read some bad reviews for these little gadgets but the 2 I bought have been great. I use it so I can spin some pokestops whilst driving without having to touch my phone. I don't want a police person sending me to prison for dangerous driving. I bet there aren't many Pokestops in prison. So once connected it spins or tries to catch for about an hour then needs reconnecting. This gadget does use up a lot of red balls. So make sure you have lots of them if you want it to catch aswell as spin. It is nice when you go through your recent Pokemon and see you have a shiny or 2! It is handy for spotlight hour too.If you like pokemon go and need to drive, you don't have to miss out.Watch some YouTube vids, to see them in action.

Product arrived on time. Most of the reviews here are about the old gotcha like when the cable is mentioned as the gotcha evolve does not have one. There was a problem with any device like this even the go plus connecting to devices from about the 4th till the 24th of Oct but pokemon go has fixed their error. When you get the gotcha evolve download the gotcha evolve app and this will update the firmware and set the date and time.If you are connecting after using the old gotcha make sure that it's ejected in the app, close the app and restart phone then connect it the usual way.I have tried and tested the product and its all good connects everytime and I have no complaints.

Super fast next day delivery just in time for the Pokemon Festival! Works well and is great for busy events when there is so much happening - you can be clearing your bag and sorting pokemon, while the device catches and spins at the same time. We charged before we left the house and it lasted nearly 12 hours!! Wow!! :-D Only slight snag is that every hour or so it times out but doesn't tell you, I just noticed that it stops catching. So would turn off bluetooth and restart game, turning everything back on and re-syncing the watch and it worked perfectly again, for another hour or so :-) Only uses red balls, so make sure you have a stack or are walking near lots of pokestops.

There are some disconnection issues with the device, but they're fairly minor. I feel that a physical button would be better than the button that they have on the face panel. This would avoid disconnecting from the phone when your sleeve presses against it gently. The functionality of the device is pretty neat. It just catches Pokémon and spins stops in the background. This will farm Stardust, Candies and items fairly fast. It eats through your Poké Balls though, maybe 80 balls per hour. When your battling a Gym or Raid, it'll spin the stop in the background, which is cool.

I was in the market for an auto catcher and decided to buy this one. When it arrived, packaging was a tad beaten up but it was fine. Had some syncing issues but was able to use forum info to resolve it ( Basically, you cant have both apps running, you sync your go-tcha with the app, close the app then go onto Pokémon go to connect it up.) It's been incredibly handy for getting high level Pokémon. If your in the market for an auto catcher, this is the one for you, great charging speed, great battery life and it works and catches Pokémon fast. Highly recommend, 5 stars

Got one off ebay and its a great item.As of 12 April 20202. There is a small issue atm that may be down to current android firmware where the device won't auto spin stops and catch pokemon at the same time.It priorities catching pokemon over spinning stops but once pokemon are all caught its still not spinning disks so you have to set both the device and the options in PoGo to either pokemon Or stops. It still works fantastically and I've heard a fix is in the works but it's worth considering before you buy as no timeline (if at all) on the fix.

First one wouldn't pair, when scrolling through the screens some were missing, pretty hard to work out what to do. There are some helpful YouTube videos....but still couldn't sort it out. Stressful to be honest. Returned and re-ordered.2nd one worked well. Charged first, downloaded software, paired and configured, launched Pokemon Go. All good and works as described. It is cheaper from other places online but really glad I used Amazon to benefit from their easy returns and refund processes. From previous reviews, I half expected to be used it.

Product is easy to connect to your phone and works great. I decided to take it off the strap and keep in a case as you need it off the strap to charge and it's not easy taking it off and putting back on. It only uses red balls to catch the Pokémon and goes through them pretty quick so make so you have plenty although if you are near loads of stops it'll quickly restock them automatically. It'll connect for an hour, then you'll have to reconnect which is as easy as pressing a button on your phone. Set up took a whole minute and that was it.
