Excellent product that allowed my eldest Son to cheat his way to success in Animal Crossing New Leaf. The device works well, but it does assume that you are reasonably IT literate. Essentially, the device works via USB and needs to be connected to a compatible computer to enable you to modify the save file on the chip built into the game cartridge (which you plug into the Power Saves Device). In order to do this you need to download and install the Power Saves Application (available for Windows and Mac) from the Power Saves Website at https://powersaves3ds.maximummemory.com/. The software then needs to be activated using an email address and a license code (included in the documentation)in order to work. I was able to get it running on Windows 10 without any issues. So essentially, you will need access to a computer with working USB ports and have a valid email address to get this working.However, it's probably worth discussing the impact that cheating can have on games. For example, my son has enjoyed Animal Crossing New Leaf, on and off since it was released in the UK. This is primarily because the game is designed to keep players playing by specifically adding financial barriers in the in game currency that mean players have to "work" to earn money to buy things. As soon as this barrier is removed by cheating the game rapidly loose its attraction once all of the desirable items have been purchased. On the flip side of this, some action games occasionally have fiendishly difficult sections that actively spoil games making them more or less impossible to continue without cheating. As a result, there can arguably be some value in cheating with power saves!

For all you guys out there saying that the PowerSaves 3DS is faulty and doesn't work, your wrong!The only reasons why it won't read Animal Crossing or Pokémon X & Y is because them games uses NAND saving, which is more of a secure save file towards most of the 3DS titles but Datel found a way around them files so that the PowerSaves can work.But for some people might insert they're Pokémon X cart into the PowerSaves and the screen will spam with 'error loading cartridge' and 'no device found' or that there's no codes or PowerSaves, the reason why this happens is because you didn't type in a valid 'product key' and maybe your cartridge is filthy but it might look clean to you but trust me,you will never know how much dust particles are in there. (Just get a cotton swab and poor a little drop of 'Rubbing alcohol' on the tip so that it's damp, then just rub the metal grids (golden part on back of cartridge) and if you don't have rubbing alcohol, you can use water and dry the swab with a towel so that it's fairly damp, or your own saliva on your finger and rub the grids on the back.So you gotta make sure everything is perfect before use okP E A C E :D

I bought Powersaves 3DS wanting to unlock a number of my 3DS games including Pokemon X and Y. But when I got it and connected my USA 3DS games it stated that content was not available for my games - despite the games being shown as being supported on the webpage [...].Anyway I looked into it further and found out that Powersaves was not a multi regional product – there are two versions European and USA available. As I purchased my version from here in the UK it seemed likely that my license key was a European license key. I tried emailing the manufacturer directly at [email protected] asked me to email them my European Powersaves license key, which I did ,and in return they emailed me back confirming that the region of my license key had been changed to USA.I am now very happy to report that my Powersaves 3DS is up and running with a good selection of codes for Pokemon X/Y, as well as many Powersaves and codes for my other 3DS games.One very happy user A*****, hope this review helps others.

Do take caution before buying this, you may run into issues, HOWEVER. After getting into contact with their website and explaining my problem, I eventually received an email with advice on a fix that I have yet to see anywhere else.The problem I struggled with that a never ending 'connecting...' loading screen, I thought I had tried everything to get it to work and eventually gave up, but then a few weeks later I got a reply to my email directing me to open up the software WITHOUT the device connected, to click 'options' and then the link that takes you to where the file is located, there should be an XML file, I was told to delete this and then re-enter my license key and login information,after this, the device worked perfectly fine! Try this fix if you're having the same problem. Good luck to those who purchase this! (Im pretty dumb and I got it to work, so don't be too scared of issues, they wouldn't still sell a product like this if it had been bricked)

The Power Saves is a very good device for the 3DS as it seems to have a lot more support than the ARDSi has which Pokemon fans will be able to appreciate thanks to the fact it's Database is updated pretty frequently with new event codes. You can also back up your gamesave so if anything goes wrong you can re-upload it to the game. Good functionality even if the cable is slightly flimsy.Pro's* It allows you to back up your gamesave so if anything where to go wrong you can simply re-upload it and pick up where you left off.* Due to the codes being automatically downloadable via the software you don't need to type them in by hand.* Unlike the Action Replay DSi this provides a lot of cover foryour games and saves if anything goes wrong.Cons* In order to use it you will need access to a computer and to register it you'll need to access the internet once.* Due to the reason listed above you can't carry it around and use it whenever you like.

Ordered this the other day and got the package with no problems. (Though the size of the parcel I received is pretty big for a small package but meh)I would of gave it 5 stars, if it wasn't for the fact that mine did NOT come with a USB wire, though luckily I had a compatible USB lead lying around, so I won't make too much of a big deal except, you know, the contents is MEANT to include the wire.Otherwise, I've used it on 2 of my Pokemon games (OR and AS) and the codes are working perfectly. The automatic backing-up of your saves on the Powersaves application is an excellent feature and helps a lot if you are quite skeptical of forever losing all your hard work (like myself)due to a corrupt cartridge or such and on top of that, you can also manually back up your saves on the app too.So overall, great product which works fine and does as it says. I would recommend it to others.

I usually purchase one of these for each new Pokemon game release.The codes given are great for getting special items(and missed special pokemon),as well as loads more to blow your game wide open.The product itself can be broken easily however, if stored safely when not in use it should last you awhile.I will say that a strong Internet connection is needed in order for the codes to be downloaded from the website.ALWAYS back up your save file before use of the device.You'll only 'break' your game if you can't reset it to it's former state .Also,keep the booklet with your licence key as sometimes when the power save needs updating it wipes your code(So you'll need to retype it in).This item workswell with Pokemon X/Y/Alpha Sapphire and Omega Ruby.A new power save,or an update to this one should be available when Pokemon Sun and moon are released.

The product works great, it arrived on time and some hours earlier than expected. For those that say that it doesn't work bear in mind that this is region locked, make sure you're buying the right product, this one is for the EU, the pro version is for the US. I recommend this purchase although people should be aware that for now it still has a rather small list of games compatible with it, but the good thing is that is constantly updated with new material. Also for those people having errors make sure you put your serial code without any dashes ( - ), I had that problem and I figured it out. I also recommend not using the cable provided with it as it is a very generic cable and it can be very defective,I doubt it will damage the device but it is very annoying, I suggest using a PS3 controller cable or buying a new one at a local store.

well it is a good product and does do what id expect it too how ever its a lot morre complicated than older versions of tese types of things iv used. the reason i gave 4 stars is because of how complicated its made to be now and for the fact that after just one days use, the most important cheat to me, which is the one where you can get any pokemon by thowing away a few masterballs. now this cheat worked perfectly for just 1 day. now no matter what number i pick, every thing hatches as a bulbasaur. also i don''t know why but the 1st da i used it i was able to get all legends and i was able to trade/wondertrade them and now suddenly i cant. which has irritated me enough to give up on the powersave.I don't know how well it does with other games so i wont comment on any others but yes, few problems with pokemon cheats for alpha and omega.

This works great and gives you the ability to modify your 3DS games. I mostly use it to obtain event Pokémon and cloning the ‘mon for friends.Over the years Datel keep updating the software and adding new games to the cheats database.One feature that people tend not to speak about is properly the best. Being able to backup and restore game saves. This is great if you need to share your games with others or let someone else play it and they overwrite your save.Only “downsides” are that the Datel servers need to be online and your PC connected to the internet to use Power Saves even for just backing up your saves.Also I’ve find that game carts report as ejected at times but that was an issue with the PC I am using.I tried another PC and it didn’t disconnect once.

There are issues that came along buying this, you will need to make sure you have the correct type of region for the right type of powersaves, this one works with PAL cartridges which are EU games.You will probably have to end up buying a replacement USB because the one it comes with will cause the device not to work properly, I recommend a PS3 controller charger, it works well and its cheap.As for it working for your game, look no further, I just recommend not activating too many cheats in one go since there have been reports of this device breaking games permanently, in order to avoid such problems,the user should probably only use one or two cheats at a time and then unplug the device for every use.

I have been one of those customers who tried everything to get the software working - my frustrations were similar to many of you. The problem was mainly that my license key wasn't being recognised - I learnt the hard way that because I'd purchased this pre-owned from eBay - the owner still had the license key linked to his account.To counter this, I spent £8.00 on a new license key from the Codejunkies website. The software itself works brilliantly and gives you so many options especially for Pokemon games. I've rated this 4 star as I feel if they better explained the basic troubleshooting such as the xml file deletion and who the license key belongs to.Great company however and a greatproduct.

I don't have many 3DS games; only Sonic the Hedgehog and Pokemon. Sonic can't be used on this so I used it to get a bunch of really good Pokemon. In Pokemon it's like this: you can get 9999999 money, 9999 BP,9999999 Poke Miles, 999 of every item (including mega stones; Mega Latias's and Mega Latios's Mega Stones can be gotten COMPLETLY legit), turn any Pokemon in box 1 SHINY!!! That's turned my team into the following:Shiny Mega LatiasShiny Mega LatiosShiny Mega Mewtwo XShiny JirachiShiny ArceusShiny LugiaDefinatly a good buy if you're into competetive play (eg. the spring tournament, battle spot, battling with friends/acquantainces).5 star rating. When I got my Datel PowerSaves device, I wasn't entirely sure about the product until the point of where I started using it for my games. Which I found it relatively easy to use, in just three steps.(1) Insert the cartridge.(2) Connect the device to the USB port(3) Open the softwareMy only gripe, is that I lost the Datel PowerSaves device I purchased in April to play Pokémon Alpha Sapphire. Which for me, is the perfect excuse to buy another, because throughout the years I've had numerous devices from Datel, not all of them have been perfect (Nintendo64 Action Replay), but they get the majority of jobs done (SEGA Saturn PRO Action Replay w/4MB RAM).
