Until I bought this, my only association between cycling and thongs was spotting novice women riders on tours who wore their t-back panties with unpadded running tights instead of proper cycling shorts with nothing underneath. (TIP for Women, and some guys I suppose: We guys LOVE seeing this, it's very sexy, but you would be far more comfortable with a pair of padded cycling shorts sans underwear; the seams on the underwear alone can cause you a lot of discomfort. It would be improper to tell you at that particular moment why we suddenly thought to recommend cycling shorts, so there it is.)Anyway, yes indeed, it looks like a thong. My wife said it looks like what sumo wrestlers wear. All funning aside on what it looks like, what it does is keep corrosive sweat off your bicycle paint and frame as well as from dripping into mechanical parts where it can cause component life shortening and performance sucking corrosion. The bike thong is also very effective at keeping sweat from forming a puddle on your floor. By comparison, towels are pretty much useless.Sure, a towel will keep sweat from getting on your bicycle, but only about as well as a plastic bag. Much of the sweat bounces and rolls off the towel, getting on pretty much everything surrounding you. And when you ride your trainer 45 minutes every day, that's a lot of stankin' sweat to be spreading around some part of your living space. The bike thong takes it all in without putting the wet terry cloth on your bike, and like the towel it's washable (best to put it in a net when you wash it), so you don't stink up the place. Some will say they don't mind getting sweat on their bike--just wipe it off--but do you really want to get salt water in the mechanical parts of something that costs the average rider $1500 when you could prevent that damage for $22?Note also that this item comes with the handy, removable pockets attachment whether it says so in the description or not. The packaging is a single, sealed plastic bag with both the bike thong and accessory pockets attachment inside.BOTTOM LINE: The Bike Thong wins over the towel and/or cleaning up after yourself.

Great for keeping sweat off your bike while riffing on a trainer. Also works great for holding the television remotes.I'm using a SRAM Garmin style computer mount that puts the computer out in front of your handlebars. This style of mount allows you to still view the computer with the guard in place. If you have a stem mounted computer however I believe you wouldn't be able to view the computer with the guard in place.Had to cut the velcro straps shorter so that the excess didn't hang down.

This does the trick, absorbs sweat, has a nice caddy attached for TV remotes and the like, and protects my bike. If I were to give it one downside, I'd say the lack of instructions as to how to best attach it to the bike. Certainly the idea in the Amazon website doesn't really work that well given the long straps. However, for the money this is well worth it for protecting my bike from corrosive sweat during the winter trainer months.

This product performs as expected. You may live without one, perhaps using a towel instead. However, this is much better than using a towel, for three reasons:(i) it is flexible enough and can be separated in 2 pieces, allowing use in bikes with aerobars (something you only realize later) but without the pockets;(ii) it stays firmly in place;(iii) it covers a wider area.

I have a Kinetic Fluid Trainer but decided to go with this CycleOps sweat protector because of the additional attachment that can hold my phone and my TV's remote control. It's worked as expected, still a significant amount of sweat falls on the mat but I think that's expected regardless of brand. I'd rather have that than a wider towel that brushes up against my legs.

This thong works very well at keeping my copious amount of sweat off my bike and floor. It is simple to install and works great. I would have given 5 stars if the pockets were only a bit larger to keep my Android phone safe, they are just too small to accomodate it. Not a stopping point by any measure though.

Even though I have an extra large custom triathlon bike frame (standard frames are too small for me), this works well. Note: YOU STILL HAVE TO WIPE DOWN YOUR CHAIN WHEN YOU"RE DONE(at least if you sweat like I do), but it protects the bike from most of the deluge during my workouts. Recommended.

I purchased this as a gift for my wife and she loves it. She mostly wanted the pocket pouch that drapes over the handlebar for storing remotes and her cell phone while using the bike trainer but the sweat protector is nicer than what she expected. This product is well worth the purchase.

Great to catch the dripping sweat when using the trainer, and helps keep the corrosive sweat off my bike. Another bonus is the accessory pouch that can hang over the handle bars. It's great to have a place to hold the remote control and phone during a workout so it's easily accessible.

Worked OK. The pockets don't work with my bike set up, but they are velcro-removable. I would like them better if the seat strap were also velcro so I didn't have to slide it over my seat and tool bag. Also, I wish the terry part was a bit longer, but these are minor quibbles

It's good and convenient. Only thing (that I should have considered), is that if you have a bike computer, or phone mount, you'll either need to move them to the edge of your handle bars, or fit the sweater protector under them. Not the most elegant solution, but it works.

Used on a Quintana Roo Tequilo sitting on a Wahoo Kickr. Works as designed, though it doesn't have much flexibility in the way it attaches to a bike, especially a triathlon bike due to the aerobars. But works as intended, just not as secure/tightly as I would have liked.

Overall I like this sweat protector but I wish that it was a bit wider in the middle. If I ride and am not completly bent over, sweat falls and misses the thong. Other than that, I like it and feels that it does keep a lot of sweat from landing on my frame.

Had a problem with a product I bought from RACK TRENDZ CANADA, within minutes of posting a review, I got a call to rectify the issue; hey we make mistakes, its how we deal with them that matters.....thank you for your customer service.

Works ok but if the velcro underneath isn't completely covered with the strap it will chafe and scuff up your shorts when pedaling out of the saddle. Just takes a little bit of attention to detail when putting it on the bike.
