I hate cat litter trays. They all look like they've been designed to be sold to people who have no taste whatsoever. Sorry, but I live in a very stylish home, with a stylish kitchen/diner. I don't want a pale blue or pale pink open cat litter tray. I don't even want a covered version in those colours. I want something modern, stylish, that functions well. My old cat used to always go outdoors for his needs, so haven't had a cat tray in years, but after he passed away in August, we needed a new kitten, who in turn needed to be kept indoors and so needed a tray. I dreaded this. So did a lot of googling around. Eventually found this. Couldn't believe my luck. Then found out it's really hard to get in the UK.Even though it's made by Curver - think kitchen bowls and stuff, they make tons of stuff in the UK. Try getting this over here - not easy at all. Curver is a Dutch company. You'd think it would be easy - it's not. I finally found I could order it direct from Belgium or the Netherlands. Great. Then I found it here and ordered it. However, a few minutes more googling and I found it £10 cheaper on another UK website - so cancelled this order and got it there. Sorry Amazon. The tray is superb. Looks really good in the flesh. The finish is a black plastic rattan look. The tray pulls out pretty easily. Also has a little door step grill - not shown in Amazon's images. This helps stop a little bit of the cat litter coming out if the young one has it on his feet. Not tried the plastic door flap yet as he's still pretty young. But as the tray is well covered, smells have not been an issue. Also has a handy little scoop in the roof section - great place to store it away. Really clever design - and I'd highly recommend it to anyone in search of a stylish cat litter tray.

Worth every penny, a really good investment. Our previous cat, a stray tabby who adopted us, remained a wholly outdoor cat in these matters. So with our new cat from a rescue centre where she'd spent a year, I've had to learn about litter trays. At first she just deposited her business, always at the very edge of the tray, and left. She still uses the very edge of the tray, so when I put the litter in, I make "litter walls" up the side. I do make it all deep for her, at least 5cm.Now that she feels settled in to our home, she's a proper Bengal ie full of energy for absolutely everything, and has a fine old time throwing the litter around with delight to cover everything up.I'm amazed and impressed that despite her enthusiastic whooshing around inside, the litter never leaves this box. Thing is, when I pull out the tray, I do find myself muttering "and today on Time Team...." as I search for where the hidden treasure is amongst the high "sand dunes". But that's as it should be, cats want to and enjoy covering up their tracks. I'm really impressed with this box's ability to contain it all and allow her to express her natural bent. The interior step is useful. I also have a small Ikea coir mat just in front as well to take extra litter off her feet.I've found the whole thing very easy to clean.I would add though that: although the box comes with a useful scoop, after a while I changed to my own large closed one, like a child's big plastic scoop for the seaside, because I pick up all the litter around the business. This is actually more cost-effective in litter use because what stays in the box is truly clean and therefore smell free, so you don't have to throw it all away as frequently.

Ruaridh (our new house cat) is a litter flinger. The litter went flying every which way every time he visited the loo and muggins was getting pretty fed up of rushing to clean up after him in order to try to limit the inevitable mess. The solution was to bite the bullet and get him a covered litter tray. After looking at all the boring, unsightly and frankly unimaginatively designed litter trays I finally found this one by Curver.Well! Our little man took to it straight away, so that was a win and I'm not horrified by the design, so that was a win too. We did take off the door thinking that he'd be more likely to get used to using a covered tray without being entirely shut in.We've had to keep the door off because he now likes to pop his head out and stare at whichever human is in the general vicinity when making water, but the lack of door isn't such a very big drawback. He didn't like the step, so that's in the cupboard out of the way.In terms of functionality I like that the tray pulls out easily for cleaning of his nibs' doings. The slightly rippled floor of the tray makes sure the liquid doesn't spread too far (saving on litter use is a bonus). Storage for the scoop in the roof of the box is a nice tidy design feature. The charcoal filter is easily replaceable. It's easy to wash out.In terms of design, yes, it looks good. Why should something practical - like a litter box - that's going to be a permamnent fixture in your home be unsightly? I certainly wasn't impressed by the competition in terms of aesthetic design. Awful looking, clunky, garish things (day glo yellow?!? for why?)... not for me thanks.

We moved house and in the process our cat decided that she no longer liked her litter box. The only way she would use it was with the cover off, in the middle of the living room floor. Otherwise she'd find a bit of carpet. I felt that if I had to have a litter box in the living room, it could at least look vaguely attractive and so, with some misgivings because of other reviews, we bought this. She actually took to it very well but only with the door off. We still haven't managed to persuade her that this would be a good addition so the charcoal filter doesn't really get to do its job. I wasn't really sure what the point was to the pull out/step part. As soon as you pull out the tray, creating a step for the cat, you reduce the amount of tray available for use under the cover. No wonder people found the cats weeing down the back of it. That part seemed pointless. With the tray fully inserted in the hood, there's plenty of room for an adult cat although mine does like to sit with her head out of the door so she can keep an eye out on the world while doing her business. The whole unit is fairly attractive (although there's no disguising what it is really) but I don't understand the logic behind the brown snap handles on the side. Why not also cream? Generally pretty good product, perhaps slightly flimsy - no satisfying clunks when sliding the tray back in, just a slight wobble - but does the job and is thankfully no longer stored in the middle of the living room.

As usual this Curver Cat litter igloo turned out to be of impecable quality with the feeling of real strength and rigidity. Its a well thought out product that incorporates a removable litter tray that simply slides out like a drawer for cleaning and disposal of the grit and soil. The design gives your cat total privacy and keeps any smells enclosed within the igloo. A nicely finished high shine swing door gives excellent access to the tray. The igloo also incorporates a small grid that can be used to create a step down for smaller kittens, and this simply slots into place within the top of the litter tray. Also built into the upper outside surface is a concealed compartment which houses a poop scoop for easy storage.Overall the complete unit is a high quality excellent product offering durability and reliability plus convenience and ease. Finished in a dark brown thick plastic basket weave design, the upper curved half of the igloo can be unclipped from the floor pan to give total access for thorough cleaning and disinfecting. I would have no reservations in recommending this product to anyone. It carries the quality and reliability you expect from all Curver products, its quite simply money well spent.

When he needs the loo, Dave will only go inside, no ruining the neighbour's gardens or making crop circles on the lawn for my pussy.I've tried everything, but he's decided that he's only prepared to go in luxury. Thus I've had to buy him the best throne I can. And so for the past few years he's been spending a penny and dropping the kids off at the pool in one of these beautiesDave's a big lad, no not cos he's had too many mice, but just cos he's a big strong ginger lion (well in his head at least)! He has no problem using this and he immediately took to the flap door.No leaks, it's easy to clean and I use liners because they are a little easier.Where the liners have ripped his wee has started to stain the plastic a little, but a good old scrub with wire wool shifts that and doesn't damage the tray at all. It's not a perfect smell trap and when he's had a night out with the boys he can leave it a little wiffy (but then that's the same for all of us isn't it?).I heartily recommend it. So far there's only been one draw back - the woven plastic design traps dust and thus it always looks a little grubby. I've got the dark grey one, might not be an issue on the lighter colour.Dave approves, and so do I.

I took a bit of a punt on this litter tray and I'm so pleased that I did. There are many things to love about it. It's a good size and I think that it would suit all but the biggest of cats. I love that the top fits on securely, our previous covered litter tray drove me mad as the top constantly got knocked off so that it was not covering the tray and making it difficult for my cat to use. There is no budging this lid unless you unclip the fasteners. I like the tray that you can pull out and clean out, making it quick and fairly easy to clean it. I haven't tried using it with a litter tray liner yet as I'm not sure how it would work but I'm sure that it is doable, if not a little fidly. There is a small flap at the top which contains a scoop which is very handy, although the scoop is quite small. There is also a filer that supposedly reduces the smell but I'm not convinced about that. Finally, there is a tray that you can put by the entrace so that any litter on the cats feet comes off before they walk further away, great idea and seems to work. The tray is much nicer to look at that other covered cat litter trays too. I'm really pleased with it and my cat took to it straight away.

Little Gem !!i ummed and arrred about getting this for quite some time, and after going into the big common pet store and clocking that the price was cheaper on here i decided to go for it.The build of the plastic is quite sturdy and thick, no bendy bendy here !!It cannot tip over like some of the square ones ( somehow they manage to tip them over whilst jumping / standing on them )Really ?? you havnt got enough scratch posts ??They look good, they look quality !Its dark, so doesnt show dirty paw marks on it as easily as some of the white ones. Its a nice size, i have bengals and british short hairs, and they manage to get in them.I dont use the clips to take the roof off to change (Clips break on trays, thus causing a weak point) ... no need with this box, whe whole tray just slides out !AND THE BEST BIT ..... the little griddle for their feet just inside the tray, it stops alot of the litter coming out and being left on the floor just outside the box, the griddle catches those little extra bits that have clung to their pads !!Would recommend for sure, and ill be buying another !!

Well i was dubious about this product as have never been a fan of covered litter trays as some cats just don't like them. For £40+ its a bit of a gamble. I have to say its been money well spent. Don't be fooled, you are not going to look at this and think its not a cat tray, its big, its got a door on the front and if you look carefully you will see litter and poop through the door. However what it is is a stylish approach to a litter tray, which is much more aesthetic than a litter tray or a covered box. Our little one had started to display behavior of pooping outside the box, however she now happily goes in the box and since we introduced the cover (we slowly got her used it, tray first, then the cover a week or so later and then finally the door) she has not missed once. We've even not cleaned it for a week (bad daddy!) and she has been fine whereas before she would poop on the floor in protest. It is a big box, one that will not be hidden easily, but as we've got space its fine. Worthy of the 5 star rating

The construction/materials are solid and the side clips hold securely. We use Worlds Best litter in it, and when the clips are fastened we can carry it around, perfectly balanced, without fear of the clips undoing or the handle detaching (that really wouldn't be fun). For what it is, it's good. One thing I would note though is that although it looks big, it certainly isn't that roomy. We've got a small Siamese that uses it and she can only just about turn around in it. She also likes to dig quite a bit and she has limited room to do that, but at least we don't end up with piles of litter all over the floor now. If I had of kept the internal step/grate inside it, it would be tiny and I don't think she would have liked it.Can't see the point of that thing so immediately removed it.She wasn't too sure about using it at first, so we put it where her old litter tray used to be and left the lid off for a few days, let her get used to it, and then attached the lid. No problems.

The Boss is a big fan, as are we! Well made and discrete, perfectly for a London flat.We love the cat dearly but the smells that emanate from his litter tray leave a lot to be desired! However, the lid on this bad boy have thankfully sorted most of that out. It took a little while for The Boss to get used to this - I started off with the curved lid off all together (but in the same room as the litter tray, he took to hiding under the lid). I then progressed to the curved lid on but with the swinging door removed (easily popped out and back in again) before fitting the door again. He's not a fussy guy generally, think he just needed to learn what it was having used an open tray at the rescue center. The scooper is dead handy for the daily poop run, unfortunately it doesn't remove feelings of being a bit of a muggins... Easy to tip out the whole lot (angled towards one corner) for the weekly clean - dries quickly too.

It's great, looks a 100% better than most litter trays. Our cat is big so it could do with being a little larger. The little grit trap at the front doesn't work too well because of her size. Today I had to clean the poo off grit trap tray. I like having the scoop in the lid as that keeps it handy. As it's upstairs whilst we are in lockdown it stops the litter tray smelling the entire floor, the flip door is quite a good seal for smells. I have been using clumping litter and cleaning it out twice a day. Because she's so friendly and goes up to all and sundry for a stroke we're keeping her in until Covid 19 is no longer a danger to the humans in our house.Update: I changed the litter to a better clumping one and now have no problem with litter being strewn over the carpet. She's got used to using it and no longer misses the litter. I have upgraded my review to 5 stars as it is doing the job perfectly.

Right. This is a truly great product. We got two kittens and we had an open tray. They were kicking the stuff all over the place and you were constantly brushing it off the soles of you feet and sweeping up.Added to this was the smell of cat poo throughout the whole house. So we got this and immediately all of our cat litter problems were gone. There's no more litter all over the floors and the poo smell stays in the unit. There is only one stupid thing (which doesn't really affect how good the thing is) there is a vent at the top which has a supposed air filter to stop smelled coming through. Great! However, there's a big open gap right next to it holding the shovel which lets all that smell out anyway.Which brainiac came up with that one. What a dope! I hope you read this, you putz.Anyway it's still brilliant, it looks nice and I'm completely happy. We'll done curver.

What a great product. If your cat has problems with kicking litter out of the box as mine did, this is a god send. I bought this in the dark grey and it works perfectly in my bathroom. No more tons of litter all over the floor! This has a great design so doesn't look overly like a big litter tray in my bathroom, a good size for my growing cat. He uses this easily and doesn't have any problems with it. The little tray for outside of the box for his paws is really helpful as this also helps grab some excess litter from his paws. Easy to clean, just pull out the litter tray from the bottom and use the scooper that is contained neatly away at the top. As for smells,I only notice this if I come home from work and his business has been inside all day, but if he does one when I am home, I cannot smell it.Would recommend if you need a stylish, neat, easy to use litter tray.

This litter tray was a must for me as my cat likes to spend extreme amounts of time scraping the cat litter around; with the unenclosed ones she literally scooped the litter onto the floor. She still somehow manages to get litter on the floor (I think she has a secret shovel) but it's nowhere near as much. The black grid/tray/insert didn't do much to change that. The smell does come out of it, but obviously not as much as uncovered ones. I wouldn't get rid of the air freshener, you may just use a bit less of it.Cleaning is mostly fine, but the cover has a fake weave design, so I'd suggest low dust cat litter because the only way I've found to clean the litter dust off it is giving it a shower.Theonly complaint I have is that a lot of times I have to lift the cover when getting the tray back in as it sticks and won't go, but it's a minor inconvenience.
