After experimentation and help from the online community I grease them with a little butter, then hook them onto the inside of a large pan. I fill the pan with water up to the coloured part and bring water to boil, then reduce heat to medium, slightly bubbling water. I break 2 eggs into 2 ramekin dishes and pour them into the poachers, pop the lid back on and cook/steam for about 6 minutes. The eggs of cooked with a soft, but not runny middle. I help them out with a spoon onto a plate and then plunge the poachers into the pan to soak.I found that butter works better than oil (no idea why) and that putting them back into very hot water makes them much easier to clean. They still need a rub with a scourer. That said the eggs are a pleasing oval shape and are the best eggs I've ever managed to cook. If only they had been coated with good quality non stick, or made from something naturally non stick they would be ideal, as it is if you don't use butter the egg white welds to them and is very hard to remove, and surely poached eggs shouldn't be cooked with fat.I can only compare them to cooking in the traditional manner, which I could not get the hang of.

This pair of poachers were well worth paying the little extra over the price of cheaper alternatives.I first oil the cups with olive oil and then break in the eggs. I then heat just an inch or so of water in a small saucepan/milk pan and stand the poachers on the bottom of the saucepan once the water is boiling. Perfect poached eggs are ready after simmering for three minutes which I time with a sand egg timer. An egg is easily removed from a cup by first tipping the cup backwards to drain oil and water from the egg and then tipping the cup forwards to place the egg on your toast. These two poachers are coloured white and yellow (eggy colours!) and are so easy to use. wash up and store.

I have been looking for something to poach eggs in that didn't involve Teflon/ non-stick pans or the silicon pods (I find the eggs taste funny from those myself). Thought these worked great. Rub a little olive oil onto the steel pod and use as directed. As someone else said in a review... put a 2-3 cm water into the pan then top up with some more hot water from the kettle. That worked well. Drain off any water that gets onto the eggs and scrap out with a rubber/silicon spatula. Not a lot of sticking with the olive oil and nice poached eggs without weird vinegar or silicon taste added. Glad I bought these - and far cheaper than the poacher pans with stainless steel inserts.

The perfect product to get a perfect poach egg every time. Now had mine for two months and the eggs come out perfect every time. Never stuck to base once. Highly recommend it as have tried other products but never got the perfect eggs from them. Those giving this product low markings and claiming thier eggs stick I can only guess have not greased thebase first as you do with all egg poaches to stop it sticking.

Really good results once I got used to them. Make sure that you rub butter on the bowl, and don't use extra large eggs (they overspill). Use the biggest pan you have, and only boil 2 cm of water in the bottom. Also - boil the kettle, and, after you have placed the eggs & holders in, gently top the pan up to cover the eggs. Loosen with a small knife before tipping out. Love mine on top of Bacon and muffins.

I purchased these egg poachers for my son who had been looking to replace his old ones, and he poaches in them them frequently. All the parts can be removed for cleaning and they are just what he was looking for

I tried it for the first time and the poached eggs came out just perfect! What a great little kitchen helper. Much less mess and more appetising than trying to do it in a jar with spinning water!

I have used these several times with XL eggs and never had any egg stick at all in the mould. Maybe the splash of white vinegar in the water, like the traditional way helps.

I like that the cuisipro is easy to use and love the type of material it’s made of. I tried a different brand before and started to get rusty after only few weeks.

Good sturdy Egg poacher. Easy to use and clean if olive oiled before use. Good value for money. Received on time.
