In short, this 16GB memory kit works very well in a Dell Inspiron 3250 i3 desktop computer. With the memory used in combination with a Crucial SSD drive, that cheap Inspiron 3250 is twice as fast at some operations and more than 300 times faster at other operations.I bought a Crucial 16GB Kit (8GBx2) memory kit for an inexpensive Dell Inspiron 3250 i3 Windows 10 Pro desktop computer that I had on order through Dell's Outlet. I also bought a pair of Crucial MX300 525GB SSD (and a pair of Western Digital Blue 1TB drives) for the Inspiron 3250 (these two Crucial upgrades cost more than the price of the Outlet computer). Prior to swapping the single 4GB memory card and the stock 1TB Western Digital Blue hard drive for the two 8GB Crucial memory cards and a Crucial SSD,I used the Windows built-in benchmarking tool (this tool is built into Windows 7 and Windows 10 - Windows System Assessment Tool) to help determine the performance change due to the Crucial replacement parts. I repeated the test with both Windows 7 Pro and Windows 10 Pro. In short, the Crucial memory alone more than doubled both the computer's memory performance (2.13 times faster) and the integrated video memory throughput due to the computer now being able to use dual channel memory access with slightly higher clocked memory in both Windows 10 Pro and Windows 7 Pro. The Crucial SSD drive was 3.65 times faster at sequential read access than the WD Blue hard drive, and 340.68 times faster at random read than the WD Blue hard drive in Windows 10 Pro (only 316.53 times faster in Windows 7 Pro). So, the Crucial upgrades, even though they more than doubled the value of the Dell Inspiron 3250 i3 computer, significantly increased the potential performance of the computer.Summary details of the testing: From an administrator Windows command line I executed a command similar to the following to run the Windows System Assessment Tool's benchmark for each test:winsat formal -restart -v -xml c:\winstatresultsWindows10-4GB.xmlOriginal single Hynix 4GB 12800U-11-13-A1 memory card and WD Blue hard drive (Win 10 Pro):System memory shared as video memory: 1999.76MBMemory Performance 10658.95 MB/sVideo Memory Throughput 2993.58 MB/sDisk Sequential 64.0 Read 135.49 MB/s 7.0Disk Random 16.0 Read 2.05 MB/s 4.2 (this appears to be a fluke, see below)Crucial 16GB Kit (8GBx2) memory kit and WD Blue hard drive (Win 10 Pro):System memory shared as video memory: 8143.76MBMemory Performance 22783.16 MB/sVideo Memory Throughput 6355.53 MB/sDisk Sequential 64.0 Read 136.20 MB/s 7.0Disk Random 16.0 Read 1.28 MB/s 3.6Crucial 16GB Kit (8GBx2) memory kit and Crucial SSD (cloned HD to SSD, Win 10 Pro):System memory shared as video memory: 8143.76MBMemory Performance 22635.85 MB/sVideo Memory Throughput 6392.51 MB/sDisk Sequential 64.0 Read 497.43 MB/s 8.1Disk Random 16.0 Read 436.07 MB/s 8.2Crucial 16GB Kit (8GBx2) memory kit and new WD Blue 1TB hard drive (cloned SSD to new WD HD, Win 10 Pro):System memory shared as video memory: 8143.76MBMemory Performance 21998.35 MB/sVideo Memory Throughput 5329.78 MB/sDisk Sequential 64.0 Read 142.87 MB/s 7.1Disk Random 16.0 Read 1.45 MB/s 3.9---Original single Hynix 4GB 12800U-11-13-A1 memory card and new WD Blue hard drive (Win 7 Pro):System memory shared as video memory: 1632MBMemory Performance 11141.00 MB/sVideo Memory Throughput 4613.53 MB/sDisk Sequential 64.0 Read 139.70 MB/s 7.1Disk Random 16.0 Read 1.52 MB/s 4.0Crucial 16GB Kit (8GBx2) memory kit and new WD Blue 1TB hard drive (fresh install of Win 7 Pro):System memory shared as video memory: 1632MBMemory Performance 23564.36 MB/sVideo Memory Throughput 9988.00 MB/sDisk Sequential 64.0 Read 139.15 MB/s 7.1Disk Random 16.0 Read 1.47 MB/s 3.9Crucial 16GB Kit (8GBx2) memory kit and Crucial SSD (cloned HD to SSD, Win 7 Pro):System memory shared as video memory: 1632MBMemory Performance 23140.27 MB/sVideo Memory Throughput 9807.77 MB/sDisk Sequential 64.0 Read 501.99 MB/s 7.9Disk Random 16.0 Read 465.30 MB/s 7.9

The Crucial memory arrived quickly and is a perfect fit in my desktop computer. AH. DIREKT are an Amazon Market Place dealer and based on my purchase, I would definitely recommend. If you are not buying your Crucial memory directly from Crucial, then to be absolutely sure that you are getting the right module for your system, I would suggest that you go onto Crucial’s web site. There, you can have them check your computer system online, to advise you which of their memory modules, if any, are going to work with your computer. You just have to download a small program from the Crucial web site and run it. It will give you all the necessary advice as to exactly what you can fit into your computer. It will advise if you have any spare memory slots, or if not, might suggest that you could remove and discard existing memory to upgrade to a higher memory capacity. All you have to do then, is either buy the suggested memory directly from Crucial, or buy from elsewhere using the exact module specified by the Crucial program. AH DIREKT were cheaper. If you have never been inside your computer before, when doing so, ensure that the computer is switched off and the power lead removed. Then to prevent static, which could damage delicate electronics inside the computer, touch a bare metal surface, not a computer component. Be sure to locate the precise memory slot that you are going to use for the new memory module and then orientate the memory, so that the small slot in between the gold connectors on the memory module, will fit onto the peg within the memory slot on the motherboard. It should fit exactly into the slot – no overhang. Press your memory module into its slot using evenly spaced, gentle, but firm, pressure. If located properly, all of the memory’s gold connectors should have disappeared into the memory slot. Do not over exert.

Crucial is a name I've floated between for more years than I care to mention. Many years ago, you just selected the right size and speed of your RAM you needed, paid for it...and installed it. Simple! Well...kind of simple...if you knew how. As technology has marched on, DDR has turned to 2, then 3 and now DDR 4 or beyond. Motherboard technology has also marched on a pace, with more boards than you could possibly imagine. This means that your choice of memory to motherboard is a bewildering jungle to try to converse and find the right memory for your precious computer. Thankfully if you visit Crucial's website armed with the make and model of your motherboard, their website will point you in the right direction.A recent AMD FX build threw a demand for DDR3 RAM, checked the website and went straight for 8gb. Vital for running Windows 10 on because less than 8gb of RAM on a system with Win10 is asking for frustrating times. I will, in time, buy another 8gb of the same RAM to give that build more headroom. And if you asked me if I could recommend Crucial memory for general day to day work and light gaming or decent workloads... then yes... wholeheartedly. If you want "gaming" performance, sling more cash into higher frequency....bigger sized....faster paced RAM which Crucial and their competitors will offer you. Then hey...Crucial will help you out with that need too. Speaking from experience I can honestly say that this type of RAM is a jack of all trades. Most systems these days will need a maximum of 16gb unless you're doing some serious workloads. And...I...MEAN... SERIOUS. So the short of it is. Is this item worth your money? Yes. Yes it is. Hope this review helps.

Been getting fed up with my 4 year old pc.After watching YouTube videos about laptops I realised I should look at how much memory my pc has because maybe I could upgrade the memory to boost performance.using Mr. Memory website and using their tool it gave me memory upgrades and I searched amazon for compatible memory sticks. Found this and within 2 days I upgraded the memory. Took out the 4gb that was in the pc for this 8gb stick from crucial who I know are big pc accessories company and what can I say. My pc feels like new I can open up programs much quicker it zips through my work flow. Thinking whether I will add another 8gb but rest assured the crucial stick does what it should.comes in a simple plastic cover. It's very simple to install and really does the job. Feel confident that your getting the real deal here. My only gripe if I have one is that for memory needed for a 4yr old pc £40 is a bit expensive but it's still cheaper than buying a new pc that will do more or less the same thing as what you have now. Very happy customer

My son needed more memory in his PC as 8Gb was not enough to run his VM's. He had a single 8Gb DIMM fitted so bought this to double it. This of course has had the effect of not just providing 16Gb of memory but also provided a speed increase due to enabling dual channel memory access. Easy to fit by anyone with a bit of reading if you do not already know what to do. The only issue for us was that it was tight getting to one of the memory retaining clamps due to the graphics card cooling but still completed within 5 minutes which included disconnecting the rear connections to enable removing the PC from a desk cupboard to lie on it's side for easy access. The hardest thing to do was before buyingto ensure that the new memory would be compatible with the existing memory.Once fitted double checked with Speccy to make sure that both memory modules where running at the same frequency and on the same timings, etc.

I wanted to upgrade my ageing 5th gen PC, and have my pc to be more capable of video editing and running multiple apps, I already have Kingston 8GB ram installed which has been reliable since 2014, and decided to get the crucial 16gb DDR3 1600mhz. I chose this as I knew that Crucial is reliable and will work flawlessly with my Kingston fury memory. As a footnote you can mix different brands of memory as along as the speed is the same. I now have the 24GB RAM and my system is stable and performs well with Photoshop/ and video editor without any crashes or bluescreen. I have used Crucial previously in my laptops and have had many years of service without any issues.I recommend this item for anyone who wants to upgrade their PC without comprising on the quality and the performance.

Whilst I have a reasonable amount of practical competence I am not an electronics engineer and was more than a little apprehensive about fitting these to my 9 year old Dell. I watched and read every piece of information I could find and decided I would go for it. I followed the instructions to the letter and used tips I had found in my research, like ‘don’t use a vacuum cleaner to remove the dust from inside’. The old memory came out easily, the new went in without a problem having made sure they were paired correctly. Cover on, power on and away it went! The first time it was switched on it was a little slow to start up but no problems after that. The memory is recognised, all seems to be good, and I am both relieved and pleased.

Our PC running W10 ( with all updates) had 6Gb of RAM ( 2G + 4G in two slots) and I had noticed it slowing down. Most of the time the existing RAM was running at 5Gb - so not completely full. However , on removing the 2G and adding the new 8Gb, I noticed that whilst the "system drivers and processes" were still occupying about 5-6 Gb, it was clear that the rest of the RAM is being used for "cached data and code not currently being used". I had missed this use of RAM before.Things do seem to be faster now and so far the hard disc has not been at 100% - which it was before. On this basis , I would conclude that W10 should have at least 12 Gb for best performance.

The memory arrived earlier than quoted and was well packaged. All great. Installtion into desktop proved a bit tricky but managed it and the extra showed up on reports. After a couple of successful reboots suddenly had a black screen and no peripherals working. Tried a few reboots without success. Eventually found a couple of ideas from a Google search (used phone) removed the extra memory and it's working again. Not yet tried to reinstall the extra memory, probably need a bit more reseach before brave enough to try. So the delivery etc excellant but worth checking on the installation procedures. Hope this helps the next person.

I bought this to increase the RAM in an ageing ACER M3910. I selected the upgrade on the recommendation of the app on the Crucial website which scans the subject computer and also after extensive research to determine how it should be installed in the four available RAM slots in my ACER to obtain dual-channel operation. I am pleased that it was immediately recognised by the computer after installation. In conjunction with a Crucial SSD this has provided a significant increase in speed on my computer. Of course, it's early days yet, and I have no information on long-term reliability of the memory.

Bought to upgrade my desktop PC from 8Gb to 16Gb, to keep pace with modern apps and browsers that are so memory greedy.Made sure I was buying the right stuff by checking various motherboard guides and also recommended hardware suppliers. Landed on this pair of DIMM memory sticks. After they arrived, popped open my PC box, removed the old pair of 4GB DIMMS, the two new ones fitted easily, powered up and Windows recognised it had double the memory, and thats that.PC runs a bit faster but most noticeably there is almost no delay when swapping between apps on a busy toolbar.

I am not affiliated to Crucial in any way but they deserve a good recommendation. For anyone who is looking to upgrade their RAM or hard drive I would suggest a visit to Crucial's website as once you give them the details of your system they can tell you how much RAM you can upgrade to and which RAM is compatible with your system, same for the hard drives. Arrived ahead of schedule and intact. Easy to replace existing RAM and has doubled the RAM of my desktop making for a better experience. I would recommend this company and their products and sleep soundly at night doing so

Exactly what my old HP desktop needed! Checked the kind of RAM my Pavilion used and then found it on Amazon. Swapped single 2GB for (2) 4GB sticks. Installation was the easiest change I have made to this PC. It took me longer wiping the dust from the case than it did to put in the memory. Now have 16GB total and system is humming along smoother than it has since I bought it several years ago. Everything loads faster, no annoying waits to bring up another browser tab or video application. Task switching is painless. Don't know why I waited so long to do this.

I have a custom built PC that’s now 6+ yrs old and was getting a little long in the tooth. I’m not looking to sink a whole lot of money into new components at this point so I ordered 16GB of RAM (2x8) to go along with the 8gb that was already in my system. It was easy to install w/ no loose chips on the RAM cards themselves. I’ve always put Crucial RAM in my systems because I’ve never experienced an issue with their components. My system has seen a noticeable improvement in how it handles multiple tasks and transitions from one application to another.

RAM came in original packaging like new items are supposed to, but unfortunately this didn't work in my Optiplex 780 SFF. This was the RAM they had on their site saying it would work but it doesn't. The Optiplex 780 SFF only takes RAM at 1066 Mhz and 1333 Mhz. This RAM is 1600 Mhz and will not work in there. Even if the manufacture says it will down throttle, the motherboard won't except itSo the RAM get's a 5 star even though it didn't work for me. Because I'm sure it works just fine, just not in my system.
