I ordered the purple refill for my Cross silver pen.I ordered the purple because it’s a nice color and a departure from boring blue and black. But this guy Joe at the bar saw me use this pen… and would you believe that he had the gall to make a remark about how the color was kind of feminine?I laughed at Joe’s insult, pretending not to mind. I noticed that coincidentally his pen was lying in front of him also, so I thought I’d ask him about it.“Is that your pen?” I asked?“Yeah, that’s my pen” he responded. “ Why’d you ask?“It’s a nice pen, I just didn’t know whose it was. I wanted to make sure it didn’t get lost” I said.“Oh… thank you” replied Joe.“Now why don’t you take that pen” I said softly “and shove it up your…”I struck him with the pen a few times,he dropped to the floor.. sobbing.“You hear a little girl?” I asked the other guys at the bar? “Anyone hear a little girl?”“Who’s the tough guy now? Huh? You don’t like purple, tough guy? Think you’re tougher than me with your black pen?”Purple is a legitimate color for a pen, don’t ever tell me otherwise.Anyhow, the ink is of the highest quality, flowing very smoothly. I highly recommend this official refill.

I'll admit it. I love my Cross pen. And when it recently ran out of ink, I was devastated. I had to use a regular pen and it felt like I was moving from a 10,000 square foot mansion to a small, rat-infested 1-bedroom apartment in the bad part of the city. So I anxiously searched Amazon for a refill that would fit my Cross pen and was excited when I found this one. While I anxiously awaited it's arrival, I tried to avoid any activity that would require me using a sub-par pen. The day the refill arrived ranks just below the birth of one of my children and just above the birth of two of my other children. (I won't say which ones because that would make them feel bad.)The refill works perfectly and made my life complete again. I would recommend this Cross refill to anyone.

Excellent quality rolling ball pen refill. Fits Cross, Waterman, and some other expensive roller balls. No product number necessary: look for the .7mm (or whatever your size refill says on the barrel of the refill), the color of ink, and the pen tip you want, fine or medium. This will fit quite a few good roller balls. Excellent flow, ease of writing, and lasts a long time. Dries quickly so it doesn't smear. Comes in black or blue, medium or fine. All are excellent quality, depending on the writer's preference. Have used these refills for years, buying them from office supply stores, and they're cheaper and more convenient here on Amazon.

Re: HALLMARK WOODEN PENS - (NOT MANUFACTURED FOR 30 YEARS) I bout one of these pens as a FELT TIP. It was fine with the exceptions that (A) The tip became broad with use requiring frequent pre empty, cartridge changes. and (B) The Felt Tip would not press through carbon copies. I modified the $30.00 pen to accept Parker Ball Roller cartridges. This required me drilling a very small vent hole in the cap, just by the pocket clip. When HALLMARK went out of the pen business I could still use the pen as a ROLLER BALL pen. These Cross SELECTIP cartridges work every bit as good as the Parker cartridges do.!!!! BRAVO!!!

I have ordered refills for the same pen in the past (ages ago) and experienced the skipping issue mentioned in other reviews. I decided to give it another shot since I love this pen. I've had the refill for about 2 weeks, been using it constantly, and haven't had any problems. It writes heavy, but if you're looking for a refill, you know and love that.UPDATE October 2013: Ok, so it's just started skipping a bit. I'll likely deal with it for a few more days (you know, thinking there's some way to fix it) and then I'll swap it out. There inexpensive and still worth 5 stars!

Having received a "freebie" pen after visiting a client, I was shocked to see the price of refills when it ran out; so much so, the pen has been sitting in a drawer for the last few years. When I saw these I thought it would be worth a go. After reading the reviews of only receiving one refill in the order I was fully prepared to return the item if that was the case, but it wasn't. Six turned up, individually wrapped. All in all I am pleased with the product, it writes smoothly, equal ink distribution, no pressure required etc. Will buy again if price stays competitive.

This product is an authentic Cross refill, as described. Putting it into the pen is simple, it does wonders for one's handwriting, and the colour is striking. I have never had these refills run out after a day or two but, if you notice the ink thinning more quickly than expected, try give them a shake then the flow of ink will improve.I love the colour and the feel of these purple refills, and use them to write on a daily basis. All of my correspondence, journal entries, appointments, etc. are written with these, and I wouldn't consider changing brand.

Item arrived today. Have replaced my pen's original black ink with this one, as I prefer the colour. As others have mentioned, it is a different flow of ink compared to the black - the black is more fountain pen-esque, whereas this is more traditional rollerball type. Less fluid, but not a biro.I'm still pleased though. Not sure obviously as yet how long ink will last, but I shall monitor it from time to time during use. 1 star off for ink being different to the black, flow-wise, but it's not a big issue really.

LOVE my Cross pen and the gel refills. However, I'm not sure if it's the purple ink or I just got a dud, but this one seems to not be working that well. It's not as smooth and fluid as the blue ink I normally use. It's like the ink is dried up inside. Hoping it gets better with use...but it's been a few days already. :(**REVISED** After a little bit more usage, I have to admit, I'm 100% pleased with this ink. It's just as good as the black and blue inks I'm used to buying. Just more colorful!!

Really like the color, it's a lighter purple than what I've typically seen for a rollerball pen. However it is not always consistent in the amount of ink that dispersed with continual writing. Say for example a sentence starts out smooth enough, then tapers off towards the end with lines looking as though the pen is about to run out of ink. This is definitely not the case for the black cartridge that came with the pen. It stays solid and consistent the whole way. It is an intermittent issue.

I tried a couple of "compatible" refills from WHSmith - their own brand and a French brand both lasted no time at all .... and the ink actually went through the page of my diary. I write an A4 page of diary every day and the initial Cross cartridge lasted me about 3 months, the compatibles lasted about a month to 6 weeks..... so actually these originals work to be far better value than the so called cheaper compatibles and the ink doesn't go through the page. I will be buying these again.

I have repeatedly ordered cross refill rolling ball pen for my cross pens from this supplier, and without fail I receive them within less than 48 hours of delivery - even over this bank holiday period. I use a lot of ink in my work and knowing that this supplier is so quick, efficient and reliable in delivery takes a load off my mind. I would highly recommend them and have used them for about a year now. I hope this excellent service continues - thank you

I am a pen fanatic. I have a really old Cross pen which I love but I only like using Gel refills. All my pens end up with Gel refills and this one was no exception. I like this refill so much, I'll be saving the order so I can easily refill it when these two run out. And I did shop around and found that this WAS a good price compared to my other supplier. I'll always price shop first but keep this handy since I know the size fits perfectly.

I love gel rollingball pens! I have to write a lot of loooooooong reports. Writing with one of these pens inspires me to write me... and do so happily. I used this red refill to markup my last 100-page report. I turned a "normal" pen into a red markup pen. Magic. Yes, these refills are more expensive than a throwaway Bic pen... but it pays me back in that it is a joy to use them... a joy to do work... and I get paid to use it!

I bought two of these purple refills for my father who uses a Cross pen. His favorite color is purple, but the Staples he orders from only carries blue and black. I recently asked him how long the first refill lasted, and he said it lasted about 2 months. He uses his pen quite regularly with his job. I'm sure a blue or black refill will last longer than that, but 2 months isn't too bad for a different color every now and then.
