The Crayola Coloured Pencils (36 Pack) contains 36 pre-sharpened pencils. The range of pencil colours offered in this set is very good as you get a couple of different shades of all major colours as well other unique colours such as Mahogany and Maroon. The pencils have a thick, strong lead which makes them suitable for younger children but they still remain soft enough to be layered and blended with each other. Also depending on the pressure when using the pencils you can easily create at least 3 distinctive shades of colour and even more with a more experienced user. However, on a slightly negative point I would issue a note of warning when sharpening the pencils. Although the pencils have a thick, strong lead, if they are sharpened too much the tip can become fragile and snap. However, if used with a high quality pencil sharpener then this should not become an issue.Overall, I would strongly recommend this set of Crayola Coloured Pencils to anyone who is looking for a high quality, affordable set of pencils with a good range of colour. These Crayola Pencils are suitable for children and amateur artists alike. In my opinion these are the best basic set of coloured pencils available before expensive artist colouring pencils, such as

I've used Crayola coloured pencils for many years, in fact most of my life. Mostly because they have good, strong leads and are affordable. Other artists buy expensive artist pencils but I've always stuck with these since, for me at least, they work just as well. They're blendable although they aren't soft like some other coloured pencils, which may make blending hard for some people who are used to using softer pencils. They don't break like cheaper pencils do when you sharpen them so I would recommend them for children who may be a little more heavy handed when sharpening. I'm not sure as you can post links to examples of artwork on here but I use them for fantasy art and shading that has up to 5 layers of colour.Overall, these are great pencils and if you're an artist like me, but don't have the money to buy the more expensive brands, then I highly recommend them.

These do feel just a little more waxy than normal coloured pencils, but certainly not like wax crayons. The final product doesn't have a waxy feel either, though I imagine they could be used with watercolour for a wax resist effect. What really puzzles me is the price jump between this pack and the 30 pack. One would assume that the 30 pack would be three times the price of the 10 pack which I bought for about £3, making the 30 pack around £9. But it's much more expensive at over £13! Normally, purchasing in bulk is cheaper, not more expensive! The colours in this set are very primary with basic secondaries plus black and brown. The pack consists of: two blues, two greens, one yellow, one orange, one red, a brown, a purple and black. No white to use as a blender.I suppose the limitations force creativity in creating shadows and overlayering colours.Worth trying.

Crayola crayons are by far worth the extra money. They have a much smoother action than a lot of the cheaper crayons which can have a scratchy feel to them. They sharpen well and the lead doesn't break easily...ideal for younger artists who can be a bit heavy handed. The depth of colour is where they truly prove their worth. Cheap crayons can leave lines and it can be hard to get any colour on the paper...even going over the same area only produces a pastel shade. These you can get a wonderful depth of colour without having to colour the area to death! The red is a true red as opposed to dark pink which can be a big problem with some makes.I would definitely recommend anyone to spend a bit extra and get these..you won't b disappointed.

These are much better than expected. I have artist quality coloured pencils but save those for 'serious' work, so I bought the Crayola pencils for messing about, for example, with colouring books which I add detail to.They have a lovely depth of colour and layer well. I recommend getting at least 36 or more colours as they are quite different. More colours = more fun!Despite lots of use, I've not yet needed to sharpen one, but I know the microwave trick if they do break easily (put the pencil in the microwave for A COUPLE OF SECONDS). Sorry for the shouting, but don't leave them in for longer. Many people swear by this trick. If you need some cheap coloured pencils to have fun with or to practice with, you can't go wrong with these.

i am 11 years old,i saved up and bought these crayons for high school in september. at the minute, i have the wallet of 12 twistables which are alot thicker and harder to use; these crayons however have now been improved, the wallet of 10 has thin leds (i know it's wax but you get the jist!), and have brighter colours! they are not as stiff to twist up and although the pack doesnt contain pink or peach, like the other one, it is a large improvement for crayola twistables! the postage was perfect and came 2 days early, the product was well packaged so no leds were broken.i reccomend them to every one, don't hesitate to buy!!! please leave comments, i will try and answer all the questions you post!!!hope this helps!!!!

These pencils are every colour you could ever need. There are colours here I felt the 24 pack lacked. I know bigger packs exist but I don't feel there is a need to spend the extra money at all! Every colour is differentiable from the next so you don't feel cheated by them at all.The pencils are good quality (as always from Crayola). They sharpen smoothly, the lead is not too brittle and each pencil has printed on them in gold the name of its colour, which is a nice touch. The colours themselves come out bold and vivid and you can really do some nice tonal shading with them if you wish. This is a must have for traditional artists and an investment for colouring hobbyists. You really do get your money's worth.

Someone bought these twistables for my daughter when she was about two years of age and I was so impressed that I bought them for one of my daughter's friends as a birthday presentThe twistables are neither crayon nor pencil but something in between. They have a crayon like look and finish but are packaged in a pencil shaped tube which allows for a much finer line to be drawn. As a transition from the inaccurate crayon to a draw-in-the-lines pencils these are perfect.I bought them for a six year old as an alternative to pencils and she is happy with the different effects she is now able to create. The only problem I can see with them is that the twistables are quite soft and wear down quitequickly.

It was a bit of a debate when I saw these pencils. I had to make sure that these are 100% good quality. The ones I had before are good, but these are way better! They are quite waxy and a very easy to use. I use them for school and home. They are strong, vibrant pencils and AMAZING value for price. There are many colours to choose from when colouring which is very handy. My best friend had been wanting some well-working pencils too, so I got her some. She loves them and uses them often - just like I do! The delivery came within 2-3 days. I was very excited when using them for the first time and I wasn't disappointed! These is a brilliant product and I very much recommend it!

These are the best thing for highlighting my bible. Also I could take them to church with me since they never need sharpening. (No mess.) I carefully use them on a slant so that the wear into a self perpetuating chisel shape for perfect even and constant coverage. I will buy a larger set next time so I can have a pink one too. There are enough colours for my coding system, I use both greens interchangeably, the same with the blues, and even the orange and the brown are close enough to be used the same way. This means I allocate those colours with 2 versions to the scripture type I anticipate marking more often. Bonus. Though still mourning the lack of pink in this set!

My boys (8 and 6) love to use Twistables. I am not sure if it is due to the novelty factor or a better colouring experience. For what they are they are quite expensive compared to regular colouring pencils. We have tried cheaper similar products but found that these break very easily so may end up more expensive in the long run. We have found that if you wind in the colour after use it goes some way to prevent the ends breaking and so they last a little longer. On another note these probably are not a very environmentally friendly product as each colour is cased in a relatively large amount of plastic which ends up in the bin once the colour is used up.

I use these on a regular basis to create art, they have many good qualities and are absolutely perfect for children. For more serious artists, they aren't as good. They can be a real pain to sharpen and only seem to work with particular sharpeners. They don't have a great grip because of the round design (the round design also makes them harder to sharpen). The led can break very easily which is frustrating. The colours themselves are very vibrant and there is a fairly good variety in this set. They're probably the best colouring pencils you can get at this price. They also last very long.An example of something I coloured using these pencils: [...]

I bought these based on all the positive reviews, not really believing they could be all that good considering how cheap they are, but I have to say, they are really lovely. I have recently purchased a set of 36 Faber Castell pencils for just over £35, and even though they are good, I think I'll use these crayola ones more. They do give an intense colour, and are so smooth, they are a pleasure to use, and have immediately bought some more for my colouring maniac mum! I haven't had a problem sharpening them, I have a staedtler pencil sharpener ( the one that collects all the shavings). I would recommend these pencils to everyone.
