I bought the Corran jacket directly from Craghoppers two months ago (they had a special offer to launch the jacket), and, since I am very pleased with it, I thought that Amazon shoppers might appreciate a brief review. I am comparing it with The North Face’s Sangro jacket (large, black), which I also own, and like just as much.I bought the jacket in large and Moss Green. I particularly like the shade of green over the other colours available (a bluey-green (Mountain Green), blue and black), I am six feet tall, 42 inch chest and just under 12 stone. The large size gives plenty of room for a thick jumper underneath, and I think that I could happily wear a medium if I wanted a tighter fit.(By contrast, the large Sangro fits me perfectly and a medium would be too small,)The Corran has a hood which can be adjusted two ways – a toggle at the back to decrease the circumference, with toggles and a chord to close the face of the hood, making the hood very versatile. It does not detach or fold away – this may be an issue for some people. The jacket is made of Gore-tex which is slightly thicker than the material that The North Face use. It looks and feels very good quality - even more than The North Face jackets. It is not padded – it is really a summer-weight jacket, but there is plenty of room for a thick jumper or fleece underneath for winter use. It is rather longer than the Sangro, but has a draw-string at waist level which I always use (so that it does not make me look any fatter than I already am!).There are two side pockets which zip up from bottom to top (the most useful way), and there is an inner pocket over the left chest which is big enough for my large android phone and my wallet – this pocket took some finding, strange to say, because the zip is on the left-hand side next to the main zip. (The Sangro has no inner pocket, which is slightly annoying).I walked to the local shops in a windy downpour, and found the jacket kept me perfectly dry, and although not a heavyweight jacket it kept the wind out very well. I like the longer length – it keeps my bottom and legs much dryer than the Sangro.My holidays are spent exploring First World War battlefields in France and Belgium, often in wet and windy weather conditions even in summer, and I am anticipating that this will be the perfect jacket which will give me many years service.

I bought this jacket because I previously owened a 3in1 Mammut jacket whose softshell layer was almost dead after 4 years. So this one was supposed to replace it. However, my internal warm down layer was still as new. Since I could not find the same Mammut softshell model anymore, I was looking for a similar jacket. This one had the internal zippers and clip buttons as my Mammut to secure the internal warm layer (removable). Also, this is longer, has a urban design rather than mountain and GoreTex. I use it to commute to work. On the negative side are the pockets. The two external ones have a vertical opening which is not always easy to open/close,and if you store a phone inside you'll have to pull up your jacket if you want to sit down, otherwise the phone will get stuck between your thighs and belly. Furthermore, the real phone pocket which is located internally near the chest cannot be used when adding the additional internal down jacket. I am overall happy considering the price.

Usually with gore-tex you spend a lot, usually around the £200 mark and it is worth it.This one was going at a mere £100 so i snapped it up, all previous "water proof" jackets would not last 10 minutes before water started penetrating...not great since i have a 30 minute walk to work in Scotland and it was worse if it was windy.This jacket keeps the wind out and can take a heavy downpour all the way to and from work, the only real downside is that while gore-tex IS breathable it isn't quite perfect on that front as moisture from perspiration can build up (it dose with just about every water proof jacket i've had)...it's not as bad as others but it can get noticeable on the warmer days.

Not yet worn in bad weather but it's a great jacket.Waterproof with gortex and guaranteed to keep you dry or money back.Green one was on offer ninetyquid other colours were oneforty.Size fits well and really comfortable.Pockets confused me but maybe just me.Could not find the fourth pocket it's inside the map pocket and it's a small elasticated phone pocket as described.Just fits my pocophone F1 at a squeeze but it's secure.No pit zips if it did six stars craghoppers.

Good value Goretex jacket and can't complain at the price. Minor niggles are that you have to open the jacket to access the inner pocket and the side pockets could be deeper. Could be improved if it were a little longer with deeper side pockets, inner pocket accessed from inside flap and perhaps a better way to draw in the hood. That'd be a winner.

I ordered this to replace a previous Craghoppers jacket that got ruined when I came off my bike.Although it is a good replacement I am missing the many pockets that I had on my original coat. To access the chest pocket you have to unzip the coat.Even so I am pleased with my purchase.

Does the job superbly. I thought it was a bit on the large size at first, but the waist can be pulled in slightly to give a tighter fit, especially when not wearing a jumper etc underneath. I find the pockets a bit big and clumsy.It holds out even the Welsh rain.

Lovely and comfortable and wind and waterproof. Not too hot in warm weather and plenty of room to wear something warm underneath when the weather gets colder.
