Counter Strike - what can I say? I bought it and played it online for years. The 1.6 version is by far the best in terms of playability. When they released Counterstrike Source they traded a lot of the game play for better graphics. Yes Counter Strike Source is prettier but from a playability point of view 1.6 kicks it's backside. It's a very old game by todays standards but if, like me, you've got quite an old PC which won't play a lot of the newer games, and you want to play in real time against other real players not bots then this is the game for you.If you've never played it then here's a brief run down of what the game is about. You first decide which team you're going to play for terrorist or counter terrorist.You then equip your player with a weapon, secondary weapon, ammo, grenades, kevlar etc. Then depending on what type of map it is you have an objective if you're playing a defuse map then you need to plant a bomb and let it blow up (terrorist) or defuse the bomb (Counter Terrorist). Hostage map stop the CT's rescuing Hostages (terrorist) Rescue Hostages (Counter Terrorists) on any map there is another objective -destroy the other team. The first team to complete an objective wins the round. Depending on which server you play on there are loads and loads of variations in maps, objectives, round times etc. Some servers have custom maps with no gravity, pistols only, knives only etc. etc. etc. The game really is vast and there are still thousands of players worldwide who play this game.A word of advice, download Steam client and have a look on there for prices of all steam games, as once you've purchased them you can download them onto any machine you may buy in the future for free. Also downloading the games can and often does work out cheaper.Which ever way you get the game doesn't really matter as long as you do! I know people that have PC's capable of running all the latest games and they play them avidly but still come back to this occasionally it may be getting a bit long in the tooth now but it's still as addictive as hell!

Many FPS's these days seem to come and go, such as Killzone, COD, BHD, Halo, don't get me wrong, millions of people still play them, but I think the counter strike community is one that will always be there.There is a great respect for the game amongst the players, despite the fact that the game is getting on a bit (maybe 10 years).I wouldn't say that this game is realistic, how many good FPS's are? but you don't need realism when the game play is as good as this.Even as a rookie at the game, you find the game still fun, picking up as many kills as you can each round, and as you get better and better, the challenge is still there, to get better and better. Not only this but the community is great,although it can get a bit fiery but how many online games don't. It is common to play with about 32 players, and the greatest thing is there is always people looking for matches, so you're always involved, the game does not hibernate over night like over games.Some criticisms I will try to clear up, such as the basic one, why buy this when I can buy source (the newer version). I personally prefer this one, but source is still a great game that I often play. This is the original, what it lacks in graphics, it makes up in game play.Also the common, its a geeks game, its only a geeks game if you spend more that 4 hours a day on it which many people can quite easily.So overall basically buy this game, it comes with other games to which are all decent, but the main one is 1.6 and CZ. It's amazing!

"Counter Strike", now coupled with its next victor "Counter Strike: Source", basically sum up the whole point of first person shooters. It tries to immerse the character in a whole new scale of Online Gaming. Counter Strike tries to make the game seem more realistic and at the same time very challenging. Combing real-time physics with the game it truly is a masterworks of gaming design. Both of the games, which are immersed in exactly the same style of play both try to provide the user with the best gaming experience possible. Myself, i am a Counter Strike: Source fan. Counter Strike is slightly out-dated with the graphics engine, but it is still one hell of a blast once you get into it :D

Counter-Strike is a mod of Half-Life, specifically built for online play, in which you play as a terrorist or a counter-terrorist. The skill levels vary tremendemously, and you can end up spending too much time on it without realizing.Condition Zero is CS at home. You are able to refine your techniques as a counter-terrorist in the maps so loved in the orginal. If you get nostalgic, don't worry, multiplayer is present too.The only disadvantage is loading lag with multiplayer, normally 30-50 seconds per map. But with all the fun to be had, it's definitely worth it.

i love this game so much Counter-Strike 1.6 is far the best out of all the Counter-Strike games but Condition Zero has offline play with bot for people whor are on slow internet and Condition Zero has the full game Deleted scenes witch is fun to play but could have been a bit longer i would say get this game & if you have never played then you will have lots of fun :-)

The first online action game in the world .i used to live in Sweden and almost everyone played this game and i love it , its quiet old game yes but when u played for wile and got use to it , you gone love it . To be honest i search all the stores and they did not have it so i ordered it form here .quick devilry ,and a good price ;)

Counter Strike, is a great game and i have nothing bad to say about it, online play is great and very challenging...however...please be wary on what game you buy, as i bought anthology from this site and was delivered a french version! which i had no clue understanding. the game now sits unused on my my shelf!

very nice productcs 1.6 have to download : 156 mbcs cz have to download : 462 mbcs cz deleted scenes have to download : 765 mb.All three games has to be downloaded from steam.plus it also includes this 3 gamesday of defeatriochetdeathmatch classicthanks amazon !!

i remember playing on Team Elite's Custom Map server...and the vehicles!the ability to hit people in a crazytank, or sand-speeder into people NEVER gets old!Single player has more maps than any other CS, as well.

When I was a teenager this was the best shoot em up game.I still think it is better than Call of Duty but then again I might be sentimental.Worth playing it if you like shoot em up games.

this game is only made for one steam account so dont buy it it has a key that can only ever be used once in its life if its second hand dont even bother looking at it

I needed CS CZ off line game, but This is online game each and every time while opening of this game it verifies Steam account hence i uninstall it and throw it.

This is a great disk my old disk got damaged and this is the perfect replacement and plays well on windows 7.
