I originally bought a pair of these a few years ago to replace the OE equipment on my Giant MTB Hybrid as I was getting punctures almost daily. I cycle 14 miles a day - some on tarmac but mostly on gravel tracks through countryside and farms all year round and have clocked up around 18,000 miles over several years - the rear lasting around 3000 miles and the front over 6000. In all that time I have only had 8 punctures, mostly from blackthorn after the farmer has cut back the trees in the autumn. Grip is excellent on everything except ice - unsurprisingly. They roll like road tyres on tarmac and offer reasonable grip off road. Excellent for mixed surface riding all year round and OK off road in summer ie on hardish surfaces.Expensive but worth it, they usually retail around £25 each but you can find deals, the best I have found was £17 each a year ago. I run them at 70 psi in the summer and 60 in the winter. There is also a slightly more expensive reflective side wall option available. Heartily recommended!

This is the first time I've tried this sort of semi-slick tyre. Usually when the winter comes, I continue on the roads and farm tracks with my nobbly MTB tyres on. This year I decided to try these as I heard they were quick and effortless on the road. Very true, they are excellent on the road. When I decided to try them on a bridleway which in places was 2 inches deep in mud, they suprised me how much grip they offer. Going up greasy hills covered in leaves they were fine, and the fact they are narrow means they cut through the mud. Obviously they are a little slippy when it gets really boggy, but you'd not use these on a full off road ride. But for hopping on and off roads on my local training runs through the winter, these are perfect.

I've had these tires over a year now and I love the ride at about 70 psi. Traction is good on all surfaces, and rolling resistance is low on the road. After about 3000 miles I haven't noticed much wear. I've ordered a new one because of a bad cut that would kill any tire; I'll be able to compare wear better when it gets here. I switched to the Continentals from Specialized Armadillos. I liked the Specialized tires a lot, but they de-laminated inside of about six months. I had three tires de-laminate , (one was a replacement). With the Continentals, I have had no flats, other than the bad cut. I ran over a dart and it went in the tread and out the sidewall. I can't say enough about the ride, both on and off road.

I Love these tires, I ride a touring bike that is designed around the 26" wheel and these are Perfect for this bike, High pressure slick main tread with the side knobs there to get grip while I am turning, with a fully loaded bike I have absolutely No worries about grip at any moment like I would with a fully slick tire, and since these are German-mad Conti's and not Taiwan-made Conti's these things are Very durable, Easily as durable as a Schwalbe and cheaper, if you are looking for a Tough commuter tire or touring tire These are what you want, even if Amazon did get the photo wrong, the ones that arrive at your door are the right ones

What they about this tire's handling are true. When hanging tighter on a curve, it does indeed feel like the whole bike is going to slip out from beneath you as the tire's individual teeth flex in their bite. But the bike does not. Additionally, when I really drop my weight down on the pedals from a dead stop, the rear tire spins out a little bit. These attribute are expected given the tire's contour. But it performs well the duty between being a street and dirt tire. Rain has been no problem, but gravel tends to pitch me back and forth a bit. Dirt is no issue though. And on a warm summer day, it's smooth sailing.

I agree with the other reviews. They roll really smooth and have pretty good traction on the dirt. I use these on my townie commuter bike, but would not trust them on my touring bike. The smooth part makes them vulnerable to flats. So I use the Slime x10 thick tubes with these and have not had to change a flat tire. Occasionally I pull out a thorn and see the green slime ooze though and self fix itself. Around town this is ok, but far away on an extended tour I couldn't take the chance. These would be great for most riders! I highly recommend them.

these tires are great. very low rolling resistance and just an all around great tire. i do tricks and im not scared of landing any particular way with the fear of a blow out or bent rim. and i am an extremely aggressive rider. perfect tires for all around performance. and dam do they look good on my giant sedona. and yes i use these tires on dirt and concrete but please do yourself a favor and stay away from mud. not so good then. but hey, why you looking at a low resistance rolling tire if you plan on going in the mud right?

I finally bought another pair for my surly crosscheck after having the same ones for 4+ years. I ride A LOT because I don’t drive and do some light trail riding on occasion. This has done me well in snow, rain, and gravel. Haven’t had a flat the whole time I’ve had these. They’re even at a point where cracks are forming and the rubber is starting to become brittle (hence the new pair) but they’re still handling the gamut of urban commuting. Still no flats! Excited to get my new ones on though.

I bought these tires back in April 8, 2010 ( about five years ago) and they're flawless. I rode my bike at times on a 40 mile trip and never had a single flat. I just bought 2 new similar Tires from Amazon, and I don't even why, because my old one still look good. May be I am just afraid they'll run out by the time I really need them :-) My 4300 Trek came with knobbies and I wanted tires that are little faster, yet, good on and off road and these continentals perfectly met that purpose.

I purchased these for riding on crushed limestone (old railroad bed) bike path after getting several flats in my mountain bike tires (Maxxis Ignitor). I have a few hundred miles on these so far - they are great for the crushed limestone surface, good puncture resistance (no flats yet) and much lower rolling resistance. The tread surface is pretty much a slick though so not the best if you are going to be crossing wet grass, mud, or other slick surfaces often.

I changed the Michelines that came on my MB because I really do more road riding than off and wanted my bike to be more of a hybrid. The higher pressure, I run em at 80PSI, and the smoother tread is a dramatic difference in rolling resistance. In addition these tires are thorn resistant which is a huge plus. If you're thinking about getting these tires, just do it! You'll be glad you did!

Great tires. Big difference in ride from old Continental Contact wider tires, namely I feel the bumps a bit more. The bike handles more surely with these thinner tires and I'm able get greater speed with less muscle fatigue. Because I bike commute, I'm banking on the increased puncture protection. My previous tires could be flattened by far too much of what these urban streets contain.

I've logged only about 200 miles but these tires are great. Replaced my old standard mountain bike tires with these and increased my average speed by 2-3 mph! Smooth ride and great handling on pavement & rail trail. I can tell these are going to last, I can still see some of the small nubs after 200 miles! Buy these, you won't be disappointed!

bought this continental travel contact 26 x 1.75 to replace a schwalbe marathon plus 26 x 1.5 which i never really enjoyed as it was heavy and not that comfortable but i am happier with this as it is lighter than the schwalbe and seems just as solid and also has excellent puncture resistance with better comfort and canny rolling resistance

Replaced factory tires from a Schwinn bicycle that had 5 flats in four months. So far so good with no flats in three months, rides nice, tight fit on our tires. Good price-- I thought of getting a liner for our tires for a little less money but the more I researched that it seemed a bad idea that often did not work out well!
