This docking station give a tidy place to store your controllers. Plus charges the controllers when the PS3 is switched on. This works fine for me, as one controller can be charged when playing 1 player games. ie one controler is left in the docking station. Also I have the bluetooth remote control, so when watching films or downloading demos etc. both controllers are kept topped up.As for comments about the flashing lights, well this is optional. Simply press the button on the docking station and they can be on or off, but the controllers still charge in either state...Another advantage is this is a tidy solution,so the wire can be hidden permanently and just have the docking station available for storing and charging the controllers.Rather than having a loose USB cable and no where tidy to place the controllers when charging..Finally this station means two controllers get charged off one USB port, so if like me, you have a 40Gb PS3 and you only have 2 USB ports, this is great.

I had read the reviews on Amazon before buying the charging dock. Around three quaters said that it was a very good buy with a few reviews complaining that it doesn't light up with charging.First of all just to clarify it only lights up when it is connected to the Playstation 3.It is a very handy charging dock for the Playstation 3. It can store two controllers and connects to the Playstaion 3 via USB. When the controllers are charging the little red light will light up and then go off when it is fully charged. There is also a button on the front which can turn on a blue neon light that surrounds the base. When playing in darkness it is a very good mood setter. However if you don't like it just simply turn it off.The best thing about it is the fact that it will charge both controllers and doesn't show wires which may makes the area look a bit tatty. I would say for anyone with 2 controllers it is a must have and a bargain at £8.30!

Supplied with it's own mini-USB cable, it provides a home for 2 controllers and recharges them while they're not in use (provided it's plugged into something with power). the controllers sit "front-down" and attach to mini-USB sockets in the cradle. There's a plastic light that shows the charging status of each controller and a natty blue LED in the base for effect (but you can switch it off if you want by pressing the button on the front of the unit). It's small, well made and does exactly what you're looking for without any fuss. If I've any gripe, it's that finding the USB port to dock onto can be something of a hit & miss affair because the orientation of the controller means you cant see what you're doing, but with practice it soon becomes second nature. If you're fed up with the mess of USB cables trailing from the front of your PS3 then you could do a lot worse than this nifty little docking station!

This is a great piece of kit if you have two or more controllers, you can fit two controllers on at a time and they only take a couple of hours to achieve full charge, there is even a button so you can turn on a light (The grey border you can see on the base of the unit) that will illuminate the surrounding area while it charges. This is a space saver too as you can leave your controllers in there overnight or when you are not using them, either to keep em fully charged or remove the usb cable. You can plug the unit into anything with a USB input, e.g. PS3, computer, cable boxes. The bugbear is that there is no usb cable supplied with the unit, however! You can use the one you got with the PS3 controller,so it doesn't make too much of an issue.I would fully recommend this unit as it is good value for money and fits almost anywhere as it is not cumbersome.

First off this item gets criticism for reliability, longevity and usage. The only Con with the station is the item is very light and feels fragile, feels like it could break with rough usage in no time. The pads sit fine with plenty of space between them, you do have to tilt the pads forward slightly to sit them and if done with a bit of grace rather than ramming them on will last. This item is a few quid so im not expecting it to outlast 12 months or so for life, you get what you pay for and a cheap item is exactly that. You can buy cheaper that may last longer, but even a broken watch is right twice a day! it all comes down to luck of the draw. The station is great sits snuggly behind my monitor and is plugged into the back of my PC leaving the PS with open ports for other items, it evens fits the move controllers! Would recommend this item.

Bought this item hoping it would be a stand alone item to charge my controllers without having to have the ps3 turned on. Turns out you still need a usb port to power the unit (a cable is included which was pleasing) but any usb port can be utilized whether it be on a pc the ps3 or in my case the one on the back of my cable STB (a virgin hd one) ive tried it with a usb mains adapter and the dock powers up but the controllers dont light up (haven't done any testing to verify whether the controllers are still charging or not though) the light round the base of the dock look nice if you like that kind of thing, bit to much like a Christmas decoration for me but they can be switched off easily.overall i am pleased with this product it charges both my controllers and gives them somewhere to live.

the blue lights on mine is a bit weak but what amazed me the most is using either mirrors or small solar cells/gates to show the charge state. So if your controller is charging the bar flashes as you would expect on a regular usb cable on the ps3, when fully charged it stops flashing, if you press the PS button and then put it in the dock the bar will flash at one point like on the controller.Ingenious! There may be problems with killing/damaging/shortening the battery in the controller but i haven't noticed/had these problems. If anyone does leave controllers on there for extended periods of time (like days)with the ps3 on and off can you state any affects such as discharging/battery life loss etc?

This little device for its price is fantastic! - It does exactly what its designed to do and can be placed anywhere and it doesn't look out of place. It charges both controllers at the same time as stated and provides a handy little place to gather the controllers when its time to shut down the system. Its tidy little design includes a blue neons glow around the base which is a nice feature and is not bright enough to distract you from the screen. I'd say for the small amount thats being asked for, this is definitely a handy and a worth while piece of kit to own.

Recently got one of these. It is a tidy little dock. I haven't found placing the controllers on difficult at all, they pretty much just slot straight in.Best part though....I don't need to have a USB cable hanging out from the front of my PS, just used an old Motorola USB mains charger to connect to this dock. The controllers remain ready all the time, not just charging when the PS is on as would have been the case if I relied on the PS usb port.Great for the price and even if you have to buy a cheap USB charger its one great solution for a fiver all in.

I ordered one of these in Jan 14 from the seller Super Size Savings and got the item pictured, which works perfectly. I then ordered another one last week to match but this time from the seller iTALKonline-UK who sent me a charging dock which looked and felt of cheaper quality and was not the item pictured. I sent that one back for a refund and ordered again through Super Size Savings who, again, sent me the correct item and matches my original one. So please be careful that you get the item pictured as others haven't.

First of all it is NOT a Sony original. That can be observed by the quality of materials used. Does the job 100% and you could even charge a small lightweight smartphone on it. Will not charge anything when the PS3 is OFF (NO SLEEP AND CHARGE) I would recomend connecting it to your desktop or a regular plug if you have an USB adapter for 110/220.CONS: I gave -1 stars because the on/off button is saggy and is not horizontal.. probably an isolated fault (I hope for your sake) it works perfectly nontheless.

This is a great product. It looks tidy beside your PS3 and is good value for money.Be aware, though, that it only charges your controllers when connected to either your PS3 or PC. Apparently the controllers need to be able to "talk to" the equipment which they are connected to. This rules out connecting it to your Sky box, PVR or AC converter. This isn't as big a problem as it sounds due to the controllers only needing a couple of hours to recharge and lasting a great deal longer during use.

One of the most annoying things about a slim PS3 is the only 2 USB slots; and this is mainly an issue, if your controllers' batteries go flat and the when you have a 3rd party controller that comes with a USB pen that needs to be attached constantly to the platform. The other good thing about this product is that you can connect it to a USB adapter or a computer and charge your controller(s) via them. It is a must and I would consider getting another one if mine got broken.

This is certainly worth buying if you have a ouple of controllers, it keeps them charged at all times and keeps them neat and tidy instead of thrown all over the living room and tucked behind sofas.I have plugged mine into my V+ box and they sit nicely beside it, I believe some freeview boxes and SKY + boxes have a USB port on the back so if like me you have 40gb PS3 then you don't need to use any of those ports.Overall I would say buy it.

Have had this for over a year now, fantastic bit of kit. To allow the controller to charge while the PS3 is off, I have it plugged into the back of my Vergin Media box (they have a couple of usb ports on the back, Sky box's are the same I believe). As that is switched on all the time I have power to charge all the time, so the controller is always ready to use. The unit itself is robust and I have had no issues at all
