Angry Fanboys are wrong as they can be known to be.It has to be made clear that this game is different, you do not build bases and you do not destroy your opponent to win, so naturally of course it was rejected by a majority of fans who had expectations for the game we are all familiar with in the command & conquer universe. Now just because it is different, it does not make the game poor, in fact if the game was under a different title all together, comparing this game to other command & conquer games would not be relevant therefor not a point worth criticizing.Let's go through some minor criticisms first.1. The Music is not bad music, it is insanely powerful and influential,it has triggers for combat much the same as Red Alert 3 OST & triggers. In fact the Music can be so intense (although remaining positive) players have been known to switch it off so that it does not take influence over practice.2. The graphics are not awful, they are fantastic and look satisfying for those who like that rich, deep and dark look we remember from the original command & conquer tiberium wars, it sounds to me like people are turning down the graphic settings and then proceed to complain about graphics, that is therefor a false representation of the game.3. The storyline and ending is not bad, it just has no depth, there is no backstory for how Kane relates to Aliens and so the disappointment is coming from a lack of storytelling. I still defend the story though because the game appears to me to have suggested another follow up game which will now not exist. I believe it was called "Command & Conquer Arenas" & trying to be spoiler free here, but the point of the story being the way it was suggests further content but fans were expecting an extravagant ending. So complaints ensued.Okay so, I suppose major changes. The game is different because you either fight as GDI or NOD, nobody on your team would be a different faction. So in Red Alert your team might be Iraq & Korea but in TT your team is GDI, GDI or NOD NOD etc. All together you can play 5v5 as the maximum. You do not build bases, you do not refine ore or tiberium, instead you farm tibs. Tibs are 2 types of crystal that surface from the ground at timed intervals, you have to fight over these resources against the enemy, so what this removes from previous games is a tiberium refinery and harvester collecting resources for your base in the background while you are out fighting, instead you are forced to fight for your resources and everybody knows it, it's really hard, really intense and a lot of teamwork is involved but you become accustomed to it very quickly. How you win is based on a point system, let's say the match is set to 2500 points. How your team or 1v1 (you) would get these points includes, destroying your enemies units which will give minor points like 3 points, 6 points etc. You collect tib for 5 points I think :( I don't remember tib points. But real points come from capturing Nodes. Control nodes are scattered across maps and there are 5 of them, you have to hold at least 3 nodes for points to be banked with your team, so you will constantly be engaged in combat, the fighting does not stop, it never stops and you have to be ready for this. Now don't think this is a meatgrinder, I first heard of this game and thought 'meatgrinder' sounds dumbed down, wheres the strategy? I was wrong and I know why. This game creates strategy out of removing MBT strategies from the previous games, seriously if you think MBT will work, you will get destroyed, it - does - not - work, you will lose, so tradition is out of the window. Each player can select a class for MBT strategies while others play Defence which MBT' don't always require obviously but it helps protect and guard nodes significantly better. The other class is support which is mostly air combat and SP, which is a special point system that allows powers you would normally recieve from super weapons in previous games. This arrangement of classes prevents MBT strats from ruling the game, it was EA's way you could say of removing repetitive strats, it works and it was clever.I played this game for 1 year, I played all previous for 2 years each. It does not mean the game was bad but the game has always struggled to keep a following because it is different, the community is small and it's actually easy to know everyone who plays because it is small. 100 people WW might play each day, yeah small but it is a love for an awesome game that just happened to be different but addictive and I would love a sequal. Maybe next time it should be given a different title so the game doesn't automatically get compared to other C&C games.

Let me start by saying I love this game. I like the new game play, with the player progression, the 5x5 online mashups and new crawler/class system. I think the attack, defense & support idea has given the game a new strategic dimension. Crawlers also greatly speed up the initial build up phase so no more 20 min waits while each player sets up base. Altho this review is set against a sea of complaints if u stick with me I'll explain why I don't think these issues matter to me (or the 1000s of others also constantly online playing this):- DRM. ok it's annoying but to be honest the single player version was never the main focus of the series (& especially not this title)and u have to be online to play multiplayer anyway. Single player skirmishes I feel are a thing of the past now since playing with other humans is so much more fun and satisfying and this version makes it v easy.- new worldbuilder (out now). This will allow the fans to not only extend the experience with new arenas it also allows u to change the game considerably, for example take off command points as a limit to army growth or remove tiberian control nodes altogether.- graphics. They're good enough to not intrude on the fun and this series was never really about graphics (try going bk to red alert 2 then complaining)- limited Command points. The command points thing has been critised heavily but I think it adds to the necessity of using strategy (not tank rushing) and cooperation between allies. As i said above the worldbuilder now allows anyone to create maps with unlimited CPs tho I don't think many ppl will play it like this as the limited system does work.- loss of some strategies. I did use to love hassling harvesters or knocking out a players war factory knowing how that would cripple their production. However the new game mode has introduced a whole load of new possible strategies created by having essentially 3 different types of nod/gdi, mobile bases, competition over tiberian upgrade crystals, differing ways to earn victory points and the enhanced ability to cooperate. Conclusion: don't buy this game if u have a dodgy or no Internet connection. If u really love the old style games and aren't wanting something different to this then just stuck to playing the old games! If ur looking for something new, fast, fun and highly strategic then get it!

I think people are being a bit harsh when reviewing this game.I agree that the campaign isn't mindblowing because there is nothing to learn it, and it is'nt very creative, so there is no point in playing it, however, you are able to play it in coop. I soon got bored of playing it and started playing multiplayer instead. In multiplayer, the style of gameplay is very different from previous games in that you must play as a team, the game encourages this by letting you pick a roll for yourself (offensive, defensive & support). If you have ever played Halo Wars on the Xbox, I'd same this game is more similar to that. The aim of multiplayer is to have more control nodes than your opponent. When your team has more control nodes, your points start ticking up, the first team to reach 2500 point wins. It is a constant battle trying to gain and keep nodes, there are 5 nodes on each map.You never harvest any tiberium, and you don't build a base, the only buildings that are available are turrets which are available when you take on a defensive roll. You are able to change your roll at any time by destroying your crawler. There is a unit cap, and you generally keep all your units close together and move them with your mobile crawler (your crawler builds your units), if you are offensive, you keep moving to try and take over nodes that your opponent has, once you have taken over one, you get someone to defend it while you move onto the next.To help you micromanage your units, the bullets are colour coded to let you know how effective that particular unit is against the unit it's attacking, so your choice of units is very important since the unit cap soon stops you building a huge army. Also, if you click on an enemy unit, it'll show you which units are best to counter it.You must be connected to the internet when playing to game, else your experience points do not increase, you need experience points to improve your rank and get new units. I never found this to be a problem, most people have broadband nowadays right? I have never had any connection problems while playing the game. This game is well worth the low price.

I think this game is getting slated just because its different from the original design of the series, sometimes change is good, if you do but his game the graphics do need to be able to run on at least high for it to look good, currently due to the passage of time the multiplayer is kind of non-existent, but if your just wanting to play the single player to see how the series came to a close then it is well worth the but especially when you can get it used for like £3.

A real departure, as many have said. However, as a final chapter I actually enjoyed being able to move through the stages quickly - after all, how many times do we really want to build another structure so we can have this or that for this particular tale!!?? Mischief managed, and I hope there will be another C&C game with a different story line but similar attributes to the originals, soon.

At first glance I thougtht this would be the end of C&C.But when I tried it seriously the new style of gameplay was very entertaining. No more waiting for the dead slow tiberium/ore/whatever harvestors to come back to the refinery while your competetors try to wreck them. No more static buildings waiting to say 'hello' to mr. super weapon.

Graphics looks good and it works perfectly with 3d vision.I've played the campaign with my girlfriend and it was loads of fun of both but be sure to start off on easy. Also note that this isn't the normal RTS with base building. The fact that you only have one thing that build everything and can move with your forces changes everything.
