This is a serious torch. It's built for people who need to see clearly for some time in the dark where a cheap torch or a torch app on their mobile phone won't do.It's heavy and robust. It's made of metal and obviously usable in the rain. It's quite large and has a carrying strap for round the wrist. It's not particularly stylish but it's not designed to be - this is a utilitarian product. It's not round and thus easier to grip, especially in drizzle. It is powered by six AA batteries which are included. Because it lights via an LED the batteries are going to last a long time but you can, of course, have spares available if needed. This makes it better than a rechargeable because you can always be sure that you have a power source.Because it is lit with an LED the bulb is not as fragile as in the torches I grew up with. There is a neat battery lock which means that you are not going to occidentally knock it on in your bag and waste power. The on/off switch is large and easy to operate (I am pretty sure you could use this torch with gloves on or when you had very cold fingers). You have two settings - bright and extremely bright. This is a really powerful torch - it will illuminate very clearly in the dark quite a long way. Believe what the manufacturers claim in their blurb - we managed to illuminate to the end of our garden clearly brightly enough to find our black dog in the night time.An excellent product for when you seriously need to see well and for a while in teh dark.

This review is for the 700 model. The torch is of strong construction and is particularly convenient because it takes the most commonly available size of battery, AA. The six cells slide easily into two tubes in the body and rechargeable batteries will work in addition to alkaline ones. There are two levels of light, the high intensity is very bright indeed and the low intensity gives useful illumination with a longer life span. The torch is not overly large considering the amount of light it can put out. I would imagine that the battery lock feature would be useful if the torch was to be left unused for long periods but needed to be operational at a moment's notice.I do not think that the battery drain that occurs through the electronic circuitry is very serious over shorter periods, but it is useful to be able to add a mechanical disconnection.

Lightweight but sturdy adonised aluminium torch. The USP here is the ,BatteryLock' system, which via a twist of the torches handle disengages the batteries, preventing ambient battery drain and thus ensuring that if the torch was working last time you used it, it will the next time too. Good idea.Otherwise. an impressive spec:High/Low beam. 160/40M beam distance. 35/3 hours battery life. 250/25 Lumens. 2xAA batteries (included). Dimensions 16.5 x 2.3CM. (Torch face 3CM) ANSI drop test: 2M.Recommended, as long as you remember to twist the handle after use..

The Coleman Divide+ 350 is a powerful torch and excellent value for money. Batterylock is a great innovation as in the past I have had other torches suffer from the age old problem of battery leakage whilst in storage. From experience I would recommend not looking at the lens whilst turning it on - This is a very bright and effective torch. The torch is robust, well balanced and sits comfortably in the hand, it feels like the quality item it is. All in all a great LED device.....and batteries ARE included.

I saw an advert for these torches in a magazine a few weeks ago. I really needed a torch to keep in my car for emergencies. I've had torches in the glove box before but the batteries had gone flat at a time when I really needed them to work. This clever mechanism allows me to disengage the batteries so they won't drain when not in use. This robust, well built torch now lives in my car glove box and I know won't let me down as the battery lock mechanism is now activated.

A nice solid piece of kit. First click brings up the high beam, second click the less bright one. The main selling point of this flashlight is that the clever mechanism in the head completely electrically isolates the battery pack with a twist, preventing the batteries from slowly draining while it sits in a drawer waiting to be used. Haven't had it long enough to confirm that yet, but it sounds plausible and it is a lovely bright flashlight.

What a torch, fantastic. I work in a engine room on a ship and need a good torch. What I didn't like about other torches I've had is all the different modes that you have to cycle through every time you turn the thing on. Not the case with this beast, 2 modes high or low and every time you turn it on its straight to the high setting, which is very bright. So actually having the low setting is handy cause sometimes it is too bright.

The Coleman Divide is a powerful torch and great value for money. The 700 lumen output provides a huge amount of light, just don't be looking at it when you turn it on. The Battery lock function preventing battery leakage and torch damage is a great idea as the torch will need to be stored for long periods of time without use but I need it to work when required.

I live in the forestry where there is no light pollution, so I need a bright easy to use flashlight to access the outhouses at night - this really does the job and compares in brightness to a small HID torch. I haven't gone through the first set of AA batteries as yet [one month] and its used every day for 20 minutes or more - an excellent bit of kit.

Great torch and excellent beam with a central spot that’s so bright when shining on certain surfaces you have to look away from the reflection!!! It’s a well designed torch of a good size and weight.Being picky it would benefit from some grippy material on the body as with gloves on or cold hands feels a bit slippy.

This torch is moderately expensive, but seems to be well made and hopefully it will last as long as previous Coleman torches have done. It's simple to insert the batteries (supplied with the torch) and to operate the device. The beam it gives out is more than bright enough for household purposes.

What an excellent torch. Simple idea, well executed. And this thing (2 x AA version) is bright too! I use mine for camping. I've had several torches (inc maglites etc) suffer battery leaks because I left them loaded with batteries - my fault, should have removed them, but you don't do you?
