Update: Initially had some issues with my coffee maker, but the customer service was very friendly and sorted it out quickly.I bought this one after I managed to break yet another glass press and got tired of looking for a replacement that I would drop again sooner or later.The Coffee Gator Coffee Maker is "just" an ordinary French press and I guess there is only so much you can expect it to do, but surprisingly I find it's often the simplest products that are plagued by poor design choices and annoying flaws. Not this one. It might be pricier than your average French press, but it's extremely robust and feels like a well-made quality product in your hands. So if you break 3 glass presses per year like me,

I bought this after getting sick and tired of Bodum cafetieres glass cracking or smashing, furthermore Bodum cafetieres are not thermally insulated such as this one.On receiept it was well packaged, the brushed steel casing was a nice feature as it reduces the amount of staining on the cafetiere and keeps it looking clean, very sturdy, well built and has some heft so it cant be knocked over easily. It came witha small fancy glass jar meant to keep your next shot of coffee in but i didn't need this.Internally it has the void where the coffee is made, then it has its plunger, the pluger uses a double filter mesh to stop coffee granules escaping into your coffee which i though was a good idea.

If you are a big coffee drinker it pays to invest and this cafetiere is well worth every penny. Beautifully made, satisfying weight and smooth in use it is impossible to fault any element of it. It makes the best coffee I have ever had at home when paired with a good quality medium/coarse ground coffee and while some may find the elaborate brewing instructions pretentious you will be amazed how much better your drink is for following them! The one aspect that really stands out is how it retains heat - cheaper cafetieres you are on a think line between wanting the coffee to seep, but knowing that it is getting colder by the second.

On one level this is another way of making coffee – but it’s so much more than that. For starters, this French Press is exceptionally well made with a nice hefty weight. It’s super easy to clean. It looks cool, too. But it has been the customer service that has blown me away. I had sent off an email with a few basic questions, next thing I’m in an on-running chat with Jani about making the perfect coffee. She inspired me. Now, thanks to this wonderfully friendly company I am making coffee that excites me. I seek out different beans, I experiment with quantities, etc, and coffee has become fun. There’s no way I’m ever going back to any previous method and never more will I buy instant coffee.

Thought I had left review, amazon yet to put it in, don't know why. So here it is. Arrived on time, despite delivery man dropping through side window to entrance way and hitting the floor 5 ft below, NO damage whatsoever, 1st surprise. 2nd suprise, opening box cafetiere looks as good as pictures suggest. 3rd surprise, once I put hot water in to warm metal inner, then put coffee in and waiting 3 mins, poured(nice smooth pour) into mug, lovely taste, hardly any sediment left, 2nd cup 25 mins. later, STILL hot, perfect, just the way I like it. Easy cleaned and ready for next mug. Sturdy, stylish, produces coffee the way it should do, hot and full of flavour. What more do you need?

Lovely design, sturdy and good quality. Like the fact that you can leave it 10 mins and it stays hot as long as you turn the lid so that the arrow points away from the pourer (turn it back when you want to pour!). I am a little impatient to wait the recommended 10-12 mins to get the coffee strength but it works if you wait. Sometimes still lets a bit of 'sludge' through the plunger but much better than my previous glass version. The cute little travel jar is a bit small for a sensible amount of coffee so I use it for my daily vitamin pills as it looks nice by the side of the pot. It would say its a bit small for four mugs but works well for two to three.

Cannot fault this cafetiere at all. Having an adult special needs son I find having time for myself limited. This cafetiere has been a godsend. From first thing in the morning it is in use and although not a Thermos it keeps coffee hot throughout the night. It's very easy to clean and more importantly in my circumstances it is extremely sturdy. I chose the orange as its a cheerful colour but there are plenty of other colours and styles to meet most needs. It came with a small jar suitable for coffee or beans which is a nice extra touch, although I hide sweets in mine! Highly recommended and I will certainly purchase more gator products

Bought this to replace an old bodum cafetiere as the glass cracked.As my hand was on the glass as it cracked it made me look at alternatives!To be fair the bodum made great coffee . I just wanted something sturdier.I came across the Coffee Gator Cafetiere ,read the positive reviews and took the plunge!Only just used it yesterday and it makes really good coffee. Really pleased with itMight be a bit more expensive than I initially intended paying but its built to last.Plus it's a doddle to clean and there was no wasted coffee in the bottom.I'd recommend it to anybody who likes good coffee

Initially when this arrived I thought the storage jar was missing. There was no way to contact the seller. So I posted a single star negative review. But then I asked my sister to double check the box it arrived in. She said, when she threw it out that she thought it heavy! At the bottom she found the missing jar! I am beyond delighted. The cafetiere keeps the coffee long enough that I can drink it all evening, and now I have a matching cafetiere and jar to go with my Gator large storage tin. All 3 in the same orange colour. :)

Thank you Coffee Gator. This is my second gator cafetiere. I have one at school (work), which is currently hibernating whilst I work from home. Because I love my gator I decided to treat myself to a second one. Any way enough about me.The Gator cafetiere is very sturdy and looks good on any surface. Easy to use. Keeps the coffee hot for long periods. Once you have finished enjoying your coffee of choice, the cafetiere is easy to clean by unscrewing the plunger and so on.Go on treat yourself.

It’s a great looking product, very unique dark grey colour which was exactly what I wanted. The design is good and it’s very easy to use. I specifically wanted a thermal cafetière to keep the coffee warm which this does. I think the extra heat makes the coffee taste better as well. The one downside is the strange texture of the outer coating. It feels like sand/gravel and is a really unpleasant sensation when touching it/washing it. The design would be better if the outer coating was smooth.

I wish I had bought this long ago. Very good quality. Keeps coffee hot. Much easier to use than a glass one. Would be hard to break unlike the three I have gone through in the past 12 months. Excellent, highly recommended.** Update I have now had this for nearly two years and it’s working fine but I have recently just bought a dishwasher and put this in the dishwasher and the finish is now peeling. It’s my fault and I’m now buying another one to replace it. Very sturdy great cafetière

We love our coffee and we are pretty fussy how it is made. So we spent some time considering what we were going to replace our faithful cafetiere of twenty plus years with. This is very well made and looks great. The coffee tastes really good: we grind our own and are very particular about taste. Drinking good coffee is a bit of a morning ritual at weekends as we wind down after a hard week's work. The telling test will be whether this lasts twenty plus years.

I have had so many cafeterias and thought this one was just another one of those and maybe a better designed one. But...what a surprise! It is a beautiful, practical, ticked every single box cafeteria! It makes me stopped using my Tassimo and looking forward to take the time and effort to make a jug of perfect brew of coffee in the morning, afternoon...and I’ve even got decaf coffee for the cold winter evening! Every coffee lover’s must have!

Bought this cafetière after several glass ones breaking. It is seriously sturdy and has very impressive looks , it also keeps hot much longer also the plunger really presses the coffee so no annoying pool of coffee in the bottom . Only real gripe is the lack of measurement markings inside apart from a maximum fill level. With a glass cafetière you can see how much water you need but here it is guess work, other than that I LOVE it !
