Great product. I love it's size, and versatility. Less cumbersome compared to the Petzl Traxion. Over all a great buy for the price.Loss of one star has to do with is operational performance. When used as a pulley on a fixed point. You need to make sure you are pulling strait down. You need to use an oval or a pear ring style carabiner. If you use a D shaped carabiner, the rollnlock will sit at an angel when under load, causing your rope to jump slightly out of the sheave( pulley wheel). If you have the cleat in an 'bite' position, this can cause your rope to pull the cleat around and can lock the cleat in the open position. You also can not side load the the rollnlock,or else the above will occur. It is also difficult to release the cleat from the open position when under load. Even if you quickly take the load off with one hand, trying to release the cleat so it can grab the rope can be difficult.Due to it's width. On D and Pear shaped carabiners, you can not pass the RollnLock to the opposing side of your carabiner. So on a pulley position like shown in the photo. If you need to relocate frequently. You will need to pass remove the RollnLock first before disconnecting from your point. Then connect your biner to your new anchor point, before reconnecting the RollnLock. If you relocate frequently, this extra step may become annoying. It is great for strait up and down, as pulley. You just need to make sure you don't side load it and use a correct carabiner.

This thing is like the leatherman wave of vertical accessories. It's too small and versatile to be the perfect tool for any specific task, but it's so small and versatile that I end up using it more than I'd like to admit. It's never the first thing I think of when I plan a setup on the ground, but I find myself turning to this tiny monster for many quick tasks when I'm already up there. It's really too small to handle comfortably, and it's definitely not a one handed tool, and it's not secured to anything while you handle it so you need to be extra careful, and It's just generally annoying to fiddle with if you're in a hurry, but it's always there because it's very light and useful, and it can almost always do the job. It's the same love hate relationship I had with the wave for the first 5 years I was using it, until I learned to appreciate it for what it was. They're both not the best at anything but they are always around and they will get things done.

Unbeatable bang for buck. Very versatile. I combine with Aztek pulley blocks from rock exotica and can lift any distance whatsoever. Originally I put this instead of the built in ratchet ropes for a fifth pulley combined with progress capture but $90 a bit steep so I bought a $25 ball bearing single pulley to add to the Aztek and I hang the whole system from the rollnlock. I can hold up the load with a second rope grab and "inchworm" any distance without having to go to the top or bottom of the main line.

I was skeptical at first but love this pulley, its extremely versatile. I use it as an ascender and bought 2 so I can set them up as a Z-rig (3:1) rescue system without the need for prusiks. I have also used it as a normal pulley as you can lock it into normal pulley mode. It seems really well made and is pretty light so you can carry it with you. I also use this as a lanyard adjust instead of a prusik knot.

Great device for hauling gear. If you’re going to use this device to rope solo I would back it up with a gray gray or maybe even a second device. The lever could accidentally get opened and you could have an unexpected fall. that’s also why you should tie knots and to mitigate risk. Very pleased with this product I like that the device doesn’t eat up the rope like a traxion or tibloc

Very versatile piece of equipment in a small design. It's tough yet small and light. The uses in tree rigging are only limited to your imagination. The more you use it the more you want to continue to use it, thus giving you more ideas on what/when is a good application for it. Highly recommend.

I grew tired of continuously checking the turns on my prusik knot on my lineman’s rope, so I purchased this product to take the place of the prusik knot. This is a little heavier and barely harder to manipulate; however, it is 100% safer. 10/10 would purchase again.

I bought this as a redunancy for my Top Rope solo system in partnership with a microtraxion. It is an easy device to install and remove. Provides a secure grab to the rope and feeds smoothly when rope is weighted. For the cost, a very good device.

Great progress capture device for rock climbing. It can be use as a pulley too. Similar to Petzel Traxion which has a sharp tooth cam, but Rollnlock has a ribbed cam which minimizes damage to the rope.

I use the rollnlock on my linesman belt when I climb up a tree while hunting. Works awesome and allows me one hand use unlike a normal prusic. Definitely makes life much easier and is much faster.

I weigh 240lbs and this thing didn’t have any issues keeping me safe! Amazing for its size and price. I ordered another because of its versatility! I would reccomend this to anyone who climbs!

Excellent device, its fairly compact & lightweight. Operation is extremely simple, it swivels apart to attach on rope. Its rated at 4Kn working load & can be used as lightweight pulley.

My favor piece of equipment. I use it for self belay and self crevasse rescue. Extremely light, durable and easy work with. You can find much more applications for this little diamond.

The major complaint is the size of the carabiner hole. If you use a pear shape carabiner, it won't go around the tight bend. I ended up buying some GM Oval Screw Locking Carabiners

This thing is solid, super lightweight, better value than expected. Why would anyone buy some of the more pricey, heavier, but popular brands is beyond me.
