4 out of 5 of my pit bulls love this ball. I wrote about how they love the football style version of this ball earlier. This brand makes awesome and durable toys for dogs! My fifth pit bull won't chase anything that isn't breathing on it's own. He looks at us as nuts kicking this ball around the yard. I look like I have a soccer team of pit bulls playing in the yard as we kick this ball all over the place. The ball is also easy for the dogs to grip with their teeth, and they have a lot of fun playing chase once one grabs the ball. Warning! This is NOT an indestructible toy despite its durability. If you leave your dog alone with it, expect it to be partially destroyed one tiny piece at a time.I recommend supervising your dog during play to extend the life of this fantastic toy. We are on our second replacement...four pit bulls playing tug of war truly puts a hurting on any toy...but this has lasted the longest.Update 20170708: Yes, still 5 stars. I truly need to set this product up for monthly delivery because 3 of my pit bulls go through this or the football at a rate of about one a week. When I say 'ball, ball,' they get all excited and run for the door or to where we have the ball stowed. I have to stow it 7 ft off the floor level to keep it out of reach from complete annihilation. The 4th pit bull, Momma Bella, has since backed off playing as her 3 pups are now full grown and are very competitive for the ball. She prefers playing one on one with us so long as she isn't being body slammed by the younger dogs. I think Rugby is probably the closest description of what my younger dogs are doing when playing for this amazing toy. I have tried introducing other toys for play, but seriously, this is what they dream about as they sleep at night. The larger kickball is a challenge for my smallest dog, our runt in the litter, so we make some exceptions to feign throw the ball in one direction and toss it behind us to allow her more time to grip it with her mouth before being chased by her brothers for it. We do try to give each dog time with the ball each play period about two or three different times throughout the day. To keep the balls lasting at least a week, we cannot allow any one dog to keep the ball for any length of period or they start chewing on it to soften it and create tears in it for easier gripping during catch. The smaller football is a lot easier on our runt to get and run, but her larger brothers struggle with the unpredictable bounce when the ball is still mostly firm and intact. Alternating between the kick ball and the foot ball has been really great for exercise and mental stimulation of our dogs. I cannot praise this product enough. BTW the color choice is spot on...why? When they do manage to separate the inner foam ball from the outer orange and blue shell, they ignore the foam ball and play with the shredded outer covering. I know dogs can see limited colors and blue being one of them. I am not sure if orange is as well, but they absolutely love this and easily find the new ones in our workshop storage area against all the other stuff we have in storage if we aren't careful.

My dog loves to fetch, but a challenge is providing the dog with good toys that will last and are safe, as well as being well made. This toy, made by Chuckit, which in the past has satisfied me with some good stuff, has made another nice product. I purchased the large ball. The ball is about the size of a volleyball and is made up of canvas and has the inserts which are some sort of plastic material (hey, I don;t think it is plastic per se but I didn't receive my PHd in polymers so forgive me). I wouldn't use this outside, especially around concrete. My previous Chuckit toys like tugs just disintegrate with tha texture, this is similar. At any rate, the ball is heavier than might be expected so I wouldn't throw this around freely in the house. On the other hand, I am using this inside the house because in my experience the canvas will fray on concrete and pick up grass stains on the lawn.At first my dog did not like this ball because the ball takes some getting used to. My dog picked up the ball in every which way, but figured out the best spots to use for a quick pick. In fact, the dog can sometimes grab it out of the air with his mouth.Overall: this is a pretty tough little product. If your dog likes to chew, I think that is your dog's issue not the product. Similarly, if you use with minimally given the limitations, this should last for a long for a long time. It isn't puncture proof (most dogs will out those canines through the canvas and plastic areas at some point), but it hasn't compromised the ball. I really like this item. It is a bit pricey, but given that I have gone the cheap toy route before, I have noticed that those cheap items just don't last at all.

Love Love Love this!Every morning we walk to the marina because there is a huge open field and we like to either throw balls or frisbees around because he is a high energy dog. We don't like to go to the dog park because your dog can pick up bad behaviors. Our dog has never been possessive and never is around us (we take away his food/toys away from him all the time with no fuss, no teeth, no reaction) but at the dog park recently, he started 2 fights within the same day. So until we teach him to ignore balls (that's what he got possessive over at the dog park) we won't be going back as often. Also, there are 3 dogs all owned by the same owner who bullies other dogs,snarls/shows teeth to "play" (owner claims they are just vocal) and just annoys us. The dog also tried to bite my hand and some other guy told me it's because the dog just wants to play. No dog should be taught to put their mouth on another human to signify "play".Anyways, we throw chuck it balls, frisbees, play with a flirt pole, and wanted to get something that we can all play together as a game. This is perfect. He can play monkey in the middle or keep away which basically means me and my boyfriend keep kicking the ball to each other while our dog runs in the middle to intercept it. It's pretty fun and he'll keep going after the ball.We recorded a session of our play (it's pretty lame because we don't really play soccer and weren't sure if he was gonna love it or not) but if you want to take a look, here you go![...]We also have an instagram for our dog so you can check it out here:[...]

Chuckits are the best! Our 1 yr old German Shepherd has a strong ball drive and it is his favorite thing in the world to do. He can grab and hold on to this one very easily. He has gotten very good at watching my feet and anticipating which way I am going to kick it. If I get under it, I can get it passed him for more fun for both of us.I would advise cutting off the tag first thing. The first one we had didn't last as long because he pulled on the tag and started the outer cover ripping. I only use it in supervised play outside and I could monitor him as he eventually got the cover off and chewed up the inside part a bit at a time.He doesn't try to eat it so that was okay.It is great when I do "poo patrol" because he can play while I search and my hands are otherwise occupied. He'll bring it and drop it in my path and bark to get me to kick it for him. The balls do eventually start to come apart but our second one has lasted for months with only a few holes started in it. But then again, we only use it outside when we are with him.Watch for sales. Best price we have gotten is $12.59. Even not on sale it is usually a better price on Amazon than the pet stores.

This ball is the best. My 16 month old, 60+ pound Labradoodle loves it. She plays hard with it every day. I waited to write a review to see how it holds up. It's been 2 months now and there is just a few minor puncture holes, but no real damage to the ball. She had an inflatable soccer ball previously and made short work of that. I am very happy with this product and would recommend it for people with active dogs. I read some of the reviews where people complained that their dogs destroyed it very quickly. This has not been the case for my dog even though she is very rough on the ball. I kick the ball and she chases after it, sinks her teeth into it, throws it around in the air, then runs back with the ball to me. We do this over and over again several times every day and the ball is holding up just fine. When I clean it up it looks almost new. great product!!!It's now 5 months later. (April 2017) and the ball is just beginning to rip in two places. It's still useable but I don't expect it to last too much longer. BUT, the ball has taken a lot of abuse and has held up well. My dog loves this ball!!!I plan on buying another Chuckit soon.

We got this ball because our dogs (medium-sized lab mix) can't be trusted with soccer balls, and they love their Chuckit! Tennis balls. We thought this would be a fun treat for them.It took our dogs a little while to figure out that they can only pick up the ball where the "seam" narrows, but once they got the hang of it, they loved it!It's a big ball (slightly smaller than a soccer ball) so both of our dogs frequently try to catch it in the air with their paws because it's too big to catch in the mouth. Our dogs are chewers, and we do NOT leave this ball outside alone with them. The orange is almost like a rubbery-type canvas, and the blue is the rubber you find in a regular Chuckit! ball,so there has to be some sort of stitching. I have no doubt that our dogs could destroy this on a bored afternoon alone out back. I don't really see why we'd think they would play with it if we weren't kicking or tossing it to them anyway, though, so this is not a drawback in our house.I would definitely recommend this ball.

Chuckit Kick Fetch is the outside go-to toy for my 65-lb Lab/Shepard mix. As soon as I let him out the door he quickly scans the yard, finds it, brings it over and drops it at my feet. Throw or kick it and he quite literally attacks it and violently shakes it back a forth while brining it back. It’s pretty durable but it's not made of bullet-proof kevlar so it probably wouldn't hold up under the stress of a serious chewer. The kick fetch ball I’m replacing lasted a year. Once the cover begins to tear or a seam splits and the soft rubber inside is exposed, the end is near. But until that time, it’s hours and hours of fun.Update - second ball lasted 2-years 9-months.It was looking a little tired and beat up until my wife parked her car with the right front wheel squarely on top of it and turned it into a Frisbee. (I have no idea what she was looking at when she parked.) Hobie still likes to play with it but it doesn't roll quite like it used to. Needless to say I'm ordering a new one today.

This toy is like crack for dogs. They all love it, have difficulty quitting it, and can't wait until they get some more time with it. My service dog Sadie is over the moon the minute I bring her Chuckit ball out to play. She is currently on her third or fourth ball, but don't let that suggest that this toy isn't sturdy. I got my money's worth in total enjoyment out of each and every Chuckit ball I've bought. She catches it, throws it, dribbles it as she runs and has more fun with this toy than any of the hundreds of toys I've purchased for her in the past. With other toys, I've joked that I might just as well hand her a $20 and let her eat it. Most of them last about that long. Her Chuckit balls have all lasted at least a year and would have lasted her even longer if I hadn't decided to buy her a new clean one to play with. I now store her ball in a basket on our golf cart and when Sadie knows it's play time she runs right to the cart, jumps up on the seat and takes her ball down.

I have a Border Collie and a Herding type/ pitbull mix. The mixed breed, Riley, never showed any interest in retrieving anything but loves to destroy my daughter's soccer balls. I tried to actually teach her to retrieve but she was not at all interested until I purchased this ball. She LOVES it! She will bring it back and has also learned to play a soccer-type game with us. We take it to the dog park with us, use it in our yard and when ice forces us indoors we play in our garage. The ball has held up very well BUT that is because I do not leave it out. I keep it in our "Chuck It! bin" along with our huge selection of lauchers and Frisbees. I supervise and interact every time these toys come out.It is certainly not meant as a chew toy.I highly recommend ANY Chuck It! toy (and we've tried almost all of them) but this is a special favorite. The only con I can think of- and it's a stretch- is that some dogs, my border collie as well as some friends, show no interest in it.

I got this ball after my dog became obsessed with another dog park patron's. I was informed it is a lot cheaper to purchase on Amazon than in he store. So true! Both of my dogs love this! The lab is actually starting to understand the rules of fetch. The shape is great for mouths and teeth to grab. It is fun and easy to throw or kick. I watch my dogs with it at all times. If I left it out unsupervised, I am sure it would be torn up to preices as it has a lot of latching on areas for teeth and it is foamy at its base. However, it is durable! No chunks or major bites (just minor teeth marks) which is saying a lot when you have a dog that plays as hard as mine! It is covered by a durable fabric in many places.Only negatives are 1) that because of its weight, it is difficult to throw too far (at least for me and I am athletic) and 2) sometimes my dog gets it stuck in his mouth when he bites too big and too hard. He always gets it unstuck. I would definitely buy it again.

My Boxer LOVES this ball. This is my 3rd purchase in about a year and half. First time, the ball landed in an ant pile and the ants invaded within the bite marks where his teeth made holes in the blue foam portion. The second one has lasted a year and he still plays with it as if it’s his first time (he gets tired of toys very easily). I’m purchasing a 3rd one cause the foam is a little warped from being out in the rain/cold/heat all year so it’s time to retire it.My dog is not a chewer, so it’s lasted this long. If your dog is a chewer, I’m not sure that it will last as long as mine. It is made with a heavy duty foam, but it’s pretty easy for their teeth to puncture the blue foam and make a few holes, but it still serves its purpose.I recommend this ball purely because my Boxer goes crazy for it and it lasts for non-chewers. I gave it 4 stars only because their canines puncture the blue foam pretty easily.

We have 3 large, heavy chewer, high energy dogs - a German Shepherd, a Stafford, & a Lab/Weimer. All of them adore this ball and will chase it until they're good and tired. It's the perfect size / texture as a kickball, and it's easy enough for even our old guy to pick up & carry. The only downfall is that we must take the ball away after each play session or it would be shredded quickly. This is NOT a chew toy, and even playful tug of war between 2 strong dogs rips it pretty quick. That said, I've bought at least 4 of these this year, and will continue to buy them because they are the only toy that they will chase until they collapse.I even keep the ripped outer material once the inside foam is thrown away because they like to chew on it & catch it in the air when thrown. Only thing keeping this from being 5 stars is that it's not as durable as I'd hope...but it's their absolute favorite toy to play with.

The ball is VERY tough, and is quite heavy, meaning my 1 year old Beagle mix can't tear it apart (which she loves to do with stuffed toys). However, it is soft enough to play indoors without marking up baseboards or walls but it will definitely knock over any free standing lamps or vases if they are low enough and the ball makes contact. My gluttonous pup likes to kick it around and chase it while she has another toy in her mouth! The best part is the ingenious concept of making indentations in the ball itself where the dog is able to pick the ball up. This makes kick, fetch and retrieve possible where it never would have before. My dog is 35 lbs.and is just barely able to put her mouth around the indents so smaller dogs may not be able to get the full satisfaction from this toy and note that this is the smallest size they make. Overall: Kudos to Chuckit! again for fun, innovative and resilient products.

This is our dogs favorite toy! We love the chuck it brand toys and have many of them. This ball is the overall favorite! We have 2 dogs and they both love it! It's very easy for them to pick up and carry around, it's light weight and extremely easy and fun for them. My dogs are 40 and 55 pounds and play with it ALL THE TIME! They played with it so much, after about a year and a half, we had to replace it. If your dog is an avid chewer, I don't think this would last very long. It would also last longer if it was brought inside after every play. Ours needed replacing because the seams were coming apart just from playing with it so much. The large size is perfect for both size dogs.I wouldn't recommend letting dogs play with this ball indoors. We have a small size one for inside that they can play with. The color does get dirty very quickly. I've never tried to clean it, but it would be difficult.

Given my dog stole the football from a football match once, buying him a football was pretty essential. I tried a normal one and just reinflated but was constantly reinflating as he needed it a bit deflated to pick up in his mouth and it lost air pretty quickly as we kicked it around. I love the chuck-it range but do wish I'd gone for the smaller football rather than the large. Even though he's a decent sized dog (26kg lab), he does struggle to get his jaws around the pick up bits sometimes so think I'll go for the smaller version when it's time to replace. We've had this 5 months now and it's surviving well with almost daily use, visits to the park and beach.Had a few rips now so might last until Christmas which is quite good durability given its purpose. It's a lot bouncier than a normal football too which adds to the level of fun as you never know which direction it's going to go.
