Our dogs like the Chuckit! Medium Erratic Ball 2.5-Inch, 2-Pack. We ordered four (two- 2-packs [same price as the Ultra Balls]) to test them out for erratic prey fetching. They seem to act like a normal ball on our grass yard most of the time. Like the Chuckit! Medium Evader Dog Balls, every now and then, one of the balls will jut off in an unpredictable direction, but that doesn't happen as often as one would expect. They seem to act out more on concrete, which the dogs love. Our dogs orally prefer the ChuckIt! Medium Ultra Balls 2.5-Inch as these Erratic Balls have squared off edges. I guess they're not quite as comfortable to carry in their mouths as a round ball. That doesn't prevent them from playing with them though.Being a subdued green color, we've had harder times finding them in the grass. It sounds silly to be able to overlook a ball, but for some reason, they act like they're camouflaged. The other Chuckit! balls are orange and easier to spot.

Better .... but not quite as good as I had hoped. I've bought many chuckit balls over time, not because my dogs demolish them ... nope, they aren't tennis balls. All chuckit balls are virtually dog proof. No i lose them to my Spaniels insistance that she take them into the river with her and then she lets go and they drop like a stone. Well.... tese do and the 'whistler' type do as well. These are an odd shape and *just* fit into a ball chucker, but what surprised me is that they don't bounce really erratically UNLESS you use them indoors. That's a shame because i'm neve going to play 'catch the ball' indoors with a spaniel. Outdoors ....well grass and even pavements don't seem to invoke te chaotic bounces that you might have imagined. My one request from Chuck IT is lace make the balls float. The best balls though are the whislers .... they really get the dogs fired up

They was bought for Christmas but the dog sniffed them out and ripped the box open so got them early, he loves them he chucks them around and they bounce everywhere in all directions, they have a soft touch to them so don't break any teeth, they are made from a soft rubber that can't be chewed up its the first ball he's had that he's not chewed into bits all over the floor, and believe me he can chew up any thing he's a old tyme bull dog, I think because its a sort rubber he can squash it in his mouth and be satisfied with that. This is definitely the best thing I've spent my money on that as not been thrown away in a week I know he will have these for a very very long time .I would 100% recommend these to anyone who owns a dog you will not be disappointed

Dogs love them. Bought a pair of these 2 years ago and if one hadn't been lost there would have been no need to buy another pair. They are well made, stand up to strong jaws and rough ground. Have had no trouble with them fitting the chuckit thrower, I use the shorter version which is much easier to carry on a walk and the balls still travel far enough. The bounce is variable, you might even say erratic. Sometimes they will bounce like a tennis ball but other times they will go off in a random direction, bounce higher or lower or spin back. Medium size ideal for Springer Spaniel size dogs.

My dog (a wire haired terrier/dauschund mix...she's about 22lbs) is a CHEWER and she demolishes anything with any kind of stuffing, tennis balls, and she chews the heckout of nylabones until there is nothing left! She loves these Chuckit! erratic balls I think because they bounce everywhere, and I love them because I can leave her to chew on them and don't have to worry that I will find ball bits everywhere when I come back in the room! I also really love the orange chuckit! balls that look like tennis balls for the same reason. I believe in this brand and recommend it 100%!

I love all the Chuckit balls, so decided to try this one too. It is very unpredictable! Sometimes it rolls straight and low to the ground like a rock skipping on water. Sometimes it bounces crazy 45 degree angles. If your dog is not the brightest bulb of the dog world, they will lose this one in the tall grass of the dog park. That being said, my half Border Collie, half Dalmatian loves this ball more than the others. He and his Standard Poodle pal get more excited if we bring "green ball" ;) Did not disappoint

Great -- would be perfect if it were not green! It gets lost in the grass at the park and takes forever to find again. Other than the colour, it is a great ball and my doggies prefer it to any of the others I throw about for them. It's indestructable (I have a Staffy & a Lab -- they shred other balls within minutes) -- these get chewed and chomped and chased and drowned and buried and chewed again, and except for the dirt are as good as new. Just wish they were red or purple or orange.

My dog has chewed up so many different rubber balls, except the Chuck It. He plays fetch everyday and when he isn't going back and forth retrieving the ball, he is chewing and chewing, exercising those jaws of his. The Medium 2.5 inch irregular hallow ball is perfect for my mid sized pit bull mix. He can fit the whole thing in his mouth but big enough there is no fear of him choking. The only thing that would make this ball even more perfect is if it didn't roll under the couch.

My corgis love this ball, but they love them all. I like the erratic bounce and this thing really flies. It is a little harder to get into the thrower, but it is fine (the dogs try to get the ball before I can put it in the thrower). I can handle it. Recommend this and the regular, blue and red ones, too! My biggest issue is that I throw them over our fence, and I guess our neighbors have had enough, since they no longer throw them back. I guess I have become, "that guy!"

my dog loves balls and these add a little bit of a challenge particularly when he's playing by himself. Like it that they whistle as they fly through the air although it does mean that due to the holes they sink when dropped in water! Think I'd prefer that they didn't whistle! My biggest problem however is that they're green! I like the bright orange of the normal chuck it ball as I can find them in grass when out in the field. Change the colour and I'd give it 5 stars.

My lab loves these! I originally bought the medium ones based on a previous review stating the medium was fine for her labs. I disagree. The medium was too small so I gave them to my friend who has a medium sized dog (who fell in love with the ball also). I purchased the large one as well as two other chuck it balls (the orange one and blue one) and she loves them all. I throw ball everyday with my lab and she circulates which ball she wants to play with each time.

These are the lightest of the non round balls. Lighter means a longer throw. They are slightly erratic. I was hoping for more, but the forward momentum of the throw keeps the ball going straight with maybe an odd bounce or two. A softer throw on a hard surface make more erratic bounces. However, on grass don't expect too much.Ball is pretty tough, I have a dog that can quickly destroy these balls and this one is holding up as well as the best I have seen

Really good, super durable ball from chuck it. I love their other products for their durability and these seem to be of a similar construction. Rather than a round ball, these are multifaceted to create an element of random bouncing although this is minimal. It doesn't really fit into a ball thrower, however best results for this ball are obtained when rolling it across a hard surface such as a path.

My dog goes CRAZY with this ball. Because of the funky shape you never know where the ball is gonna go, so it keeps Nahla entertained. It's your standard ChuckIt ball, lasts forever. It's easy to spot because of the bright green color. It has holes on it, so don't play with it at the beach or at a lake.. The crazy bounce works better in a hard surface, but it's always great, my dog's happy.

I just got these Chuckit balls today and my dog has not stopped playing with them. The bounce erratically which make things even more fun for her. When I toss or roll this ball, my dog has no idea where it is going to end up. This makes for a very exciting game of fetch which ultimately tires her out much more quickly. I think any dog who loves to play fetch should get these Chuckit balls!
