We have 90 lb. male labradoodle with unpredictable tendencies when it comes to toys. We never know if something is going to be a hit or a total dud. Wait, that's not true... any plush toys with squeakers lose their life within 5 minutes of meeting Zed. And tennis-type balls get broken in half in about 30 seconds (just a couple of good chomps).I ordered this ball because we had one sort of like it (but a little bigger) that he absolutely LOVED but it disappeared from our yard. I wasn't sure if it would be a good purchase or not, but I liked the holes in it to allow him to breathe when it's in his mouth. It arrived, and his joy level went through the roof. Sometimes he destroys rubbery toys and other times he doesn't.And sometimes he'll play nicely with a toy for months and all of a sudden tear it to shreds one evening for no apparent reason. I wanted to wait a while before posting a review to see if this ball was going to meet its demise. We have had it for 2 months. He LOVES it... and I love it too. I'm comfortable throwing it in the house because it won't dent the walls or bend the blinds. :o) When he picks a toy out of his bin to play with, he always brings this little orange ball to me. I wasn't sure when I ordered it of how the size was going to work for him. The ball he lost was 4 inches and this new ball was just 3 inches . But he doesn't seem to mind it at all, and I can tell that there's no need for me to worry about him swallowing it while fetching. He likes to squish it in his jaws (not bite for destruction, just chomp for up-and-down-ness) - I think he likes how flexible it is.At this point, I'd definitely order another one for him. I haven't tested it yet in our launcher to see if it fits, but it's still a winner for us even if it doesn't. And it's a frozen winter wonderland where we live so I haven't been able to test it in a pond but I don't think it'd float much above the water anyway. Probably better as a land toy or pool toy.

I started using normal tennis ball sized chuck-it balls with my GSD years ago and he loved them. They go further, are indestructible and last forever. However, be aware, one day he hit it at a full run, and it went into his wind pipe. They are too small and too slippery for a big dog. We couldn’t remove it, believe me we tried and my wife ended up in Casualty with a badly bitten hand. Not until he was completely unconscious and his eyes had rolled into the back of his head and no pulse. Can you do CPR on a dog? I now know I can but I would rather you didn’t have to find out the same way I did. That was the end of that and very nearly the end of him.We bought one of these Breathe Right balls as an experiment thinking it would last ten minutes and would be impossible to throw very far. He has had four in the last two years and two of those were lost. None were damaged despite him chomping on them for ages. I can see other people have had issues with their dog breaking them but mine hasn’t and he is a very big GSD and not gentle with his toys.Bottom line is, if you have a large dog, DO NOT use the medium size (tennis ball) normal Chuck-its, they are dangerous in that situation. The large Breathe Rights have proven tough, they go a fair way with the correct thrower and they are safe. It is extremely unlikely he will get this stuck in his throat and if he does it won’t suffocate him and I can hook it out easily.Worth the money, damn straight!

So far we're really impressed with this ball, our dog just loves it.He is absolutely obsessed with balls and this one is no exception - we use it with our chuckit thrower - doesn't go quite as far as the 'chuckit ultra squeaker ball' he also has as the breathe right ball has a little less weight to it. However, in weather like this where it's sticky & hot this ball is perfect as it allows him to keep running/fetching for longer without us worrying about him not being able to breathe properly. He loves to chew this ball indoors too and so far it seems to be holding up very well to him (he is a mini dachshund but they have a v strong set of jaws/teeth and not many things last!).One small comment is that because of the holes in it when it bounces off the floor it goes at a slight angle so don't do the same thing I have on our most recent walk and lose it in brambles taller than me then have to go and fish it out!!UPDATE OCT 2019: Unfortunately he was left unsupervised with this ball by my MIL and has now chewed through it - not a fault of the ball as such as its not designed for chewing.

When this ball arrived, I nearly threw it straight in the bin. It felt very flimsy, was smaller than I thought it would be, and I thought it was a waste of money. My dog can destroy the sturdiest of balls in a matter of minutes, so I thought it might be best just to throw this away rather than give it to her on Christmas Day and then see her disappointed face as I wrestle the bits away from her which she will never see again. Fortunately, I decided to let her have her 2 minutes of fun with it and she got it Christmas morning, and despite getting other toys this was by far her favourite. I was very surprised to see it still in one piece after half an hour of chewing. After 3 days of trying to destroy it,the dog gave up with that and started playing with it instead. Now, 2 months later, the ball is still intact and is still chewed/played with on a daily basis. I will definitely be getting another one.

I spent some time sourcing balls for a 15kg cockapoo who loves to play catch indoors and out. We have a fairly cluttered sitting room and sooner or later we were going to have an accident, for she doesn't always catch cleanly and balls can squirt off anywhere. Most balls are too heavy and therefore potentially destructive. Some of the lighter ones were too hard and could bounce alarmingly off her teeth. The "Small" size of these is ideal for her; they're pretty light and squidgy enough to have a soft bounce. Added to this, I'm not worried she's going to choke herself by accident. I should add that my dog looks after her toys and does not chew up this sort of material. I have not used them outdoors,as I'm not worried about smashing ornaments, so I hadn't thought about the colour-blindness problem. As someone with a colour defect myself, I'd prefer light blue or yellow!

I wanted a ball that my dog could hold in his mouth and still breathe easily and I also wanted the correct size to use with a ball launcher and this one did both of those things. However, the first time we used it, it rolled down a rabbit hole never to be seen again. Of course, this is not the manufacturer's fault or a failing of the ball itself, but it did make me regret spending so much money on one single ball.It is lighter than a tennis ball, and that combined with the air holes, meant that it didn't go as far as an ordinary tennis ball used with a ball launcher. My dog would have preferred it if it went as far as a tennis ball.I don't think I'll buy another one.Losing 50p tennis balls which roll into rabbit holes, float off down rivers or simply disappear into dense hedges is one thing, but I don't want to lose any more of these relatively expensive balls.

I have a bluenose pitbull who is incessant when it comes to getting the ball, he'll go and go and go until I make the call.. He ALWAYS gets winded, and i can tell he labors when he breaths cause of his big stupid head. After only a few fetch sessions with this ball, while i was initially skeptical how much difference it might make, I have to admit, I noticed a difference right away. He doesnt seem nearly as labored after a long session as he does with the other chuck-it balls. I am really pleased with this product, and will be buying more as necessary. The only reason I didnt give this 5 stars is I think there is a little room for improvement. I think if the rubber (or whatever this material is)was a little heavier, or beefier, it'd would give the ball a little more heft and I wouldnt have to labor as hard to throw it as far as I currently do.

I wish I'd thought of a ball like this. I live with two high energy herding dogs - an English Shepherd and an Australian Shepherd - and this ball revolutionized playing toss with them. They can breathe through the ball and I can exhaust their excess energy instead of just playing until they're out of breath. They shouldn't cost as much as they do. All Chewy products are overpriced, but this one has held up for 6 months of daily use. I do not let them chew it or play with it other than when we're playing toss, but I'm not babying it: I toss it deep into the woods, down the drive, and up into trees. Maybe this one is worth the cost. It's easy to clean.Rinse it off under the hose and it's clean and ready to go.I don't know what material it's made from, and I should. I condtionaly recommend it depending on what's in this plastic.

This ball is great for its intended purpose, making it easier for the dog to breathe while running around with the ball. However I have discovered an additional use. This ball, being very lightweight with less velocity than a normal ball, is great for tossing indoors. Much less risk of knocking over a lamp, and much quieter if you live in an apartment. If you have a ball-obsessed dog for whom outdoor exercise is not enough (I'm sure you can relate if you have one!), this is the perfect indoor ball. My dog (half French Bulldog, half Boston Terrier, with a totally terrier temperament) is also a super chewer and these balls stand up to her chewing. Finally, it's less important to get the exact right size, since she can get her teeth into the ball. We use the medium size which is the tennis ball size.

We have a 9lb pomchi and small is the perfect size for her tiny mouth! She likes to chew up everything, but this has survived for a few weeks now! We bought a 2 pack and make sure to keep one in her travel bag. The "outside ball" tends to get dirty depending on where our adventures take us, but the bright color makes it easy to find and it's super easy to rinse off when we get home.I also love that we can stick little treats in it and it keeps her entertained at home. It's got an unpredictable bounce to it, and it's cute to watch her go after it. She has learned to throw it and go after it herself. Let's be honest- when working from home, balls are the best because I don't have to sit there and tug at it.I can just toss it and just wait for her to bring it back.

Didn't think this would last - my Sebbie (jackspaniel) loves chewing rubber. But it's lasted; he can breath much more easily and it's become one of his favourite balls. The rubber is sufficiently soft and pliable for him to enjoy chewing but is also strong and sufficiently robust to avoid splitting/breaking or otherwise ending up in pieces, as does with most rubber toys, even when it's been left out in all weathers. Seemed extremely expensive compared to other balls but well worth the money; I could easily have wasted the same amount of money on cheaper balls which would all be in the bin by now, but this one is still as good a new despite being played with every day. Thank you, Doskocil.

My boys LOVE these balls! My doodle loves to chew on it as he's bringing it back to me, and can tell he has fun with it being flexible. (He's not a swallow it kind of dog, so the small is great for him for that reason.) It's the perfect size for my little guy too. My only minor complaint is because of the holes, it doesn't go very far. I have a good arm and so can throw a normal ball pretty far, plus add in the bounce and roll of a normal ball. But with these... not so much. Especially if it's windy at all. They still do the trick, but the pups don't wear out as fast is all. They do love them a lot, and prefer them over other balls so they're still 5 Star in my book!

My dog loves to play fetch! When I came across this ball I just knew this would be perfect for her. She is able to carry this ball in her mouth and still be able to breath. She prefers this ball over an other ball that she already has. I enjoy it because it's easier to throw and goes farther then any other ball we own. My arm doesnt get as tired throwing this ball. As for durability I feel like this ball will last with supervision. So far ours is holding up. The size of the large is a little bit bigger then a tennis ball. I thought it would be bigger but it seems to be the right size for our boxerador. She is about 60 lbs for reference. We love this breathable ball!

Both of my German Shepherds really like to carry these balls on their walks. I wanted a non solid ball that would allow my dogs to adjust the tension on their jaw. With a solid ball it just seems that their jaws are wedged open. This ball allows them to bite down on it and it isn’t too heavy for them to carry for a couple of hours. Of course the main reason was that because of it’s construction the dogs can breathe easily while carrying it. Added bonus is that the ball floats too.I can have a game of tug as well as the ball is very robust. I just rinse under the outdoor tap after each walk. The dogs have had the balls for a few months and they are still like new.

My blue heeler LOVES this ball. She's very fast and agile and it works well in snow, water and land. I would have given it 5 stars but it's a little loose in the Chuck-it thrower so harder to scoop up and it often falls backwards out of the Chuck-it thrower as I draw my arm back for the throw. You just have to be a bit more careful. It's not as aerodynamic and has a lot more "drag" which you'll definately notice in windy conditions. I still like the weight and airflow - my dog loves to catch a high-thrown ball and I was concerned the heavier rubber ball might knock a tooth out one day! I wouldn't recommend it for a big chewer - it's a "play fetch" toy
