The following is the main issues I sent to Chicco Toys regarding the Captain Squirt product only, thought it was fair to share this on Amazon now that I've had no reply from the UK or US office:NB my son is now 13 months, and is still just as bemused by the toy....I think my main issue with this product is one of general disappointment, and a sense it's not as safe as your company might suggest. Most toys, especially bath toys have been pretty accurate in their description, and packaging, and images of the toy reflect what we end up with once it's unwrapped and our son is playing with it. To put a bit of context into this, we bought this for our baby son after he was 6 months (the product says 6 months +)at a time when he could sit in the bath, but needed one of our hands free to catch him if he fell.On playing with the toy initially, I tried winding up the wheel as suggested to make it 'go', nothing happened. Already hard with only one hand available.I then realised you had to push the wheel into the body of the toy (odd) and then turn it to wind it up. Why is that? Why not just allow a simple turn to wind? (I should declare a slight interest here - I work for a usability lab so am always looking for these kinds of things). Also, doing this definitely needed two hands, leaving my son precariously wobbling in the bath. Having wound it, I put it in the bath and watched it 'go' as promised. It didn't. There was a suggestion of some movement under the water but it didn't move - at most it drifted very slightly forwards and to one side.It also doesn't float very well. For a bath toy (and a boat, not a submarine), that's kind of a let down. Or let's say it does float but either upside down, or listing to one side.Another prominently described feature of the toy is the pump and 'squirt' action, which it's claimed can be operated by a child. I had problems finding out how this worked, partly because when it did squirt, this was so feeble I didn't realise where the water was coming from. I don't think you can claim that this was done on purpose as a safety measure as we have plenty of quite powerful squeezy squirty toys which pose no threat. It also requires a firm hold of the toy in one hand, placing the toy in the water just enough, then a firm pump on the top - needless to say my 6 month old couldn't manage that. Hitting the top button alone just pushes the boat down into the water and sinks it.The other wheel does in fact making a clicking noise. Which is nice, but I'm not too happy having spent all that money on a piece of floating plastic that clicks when I was expecting more. An this brings me on to my final point. On trying to play with it with my son one day I noticed a wheel breaking off. I realised it snapped back on okay, easily enough, but I'd question why it has this easy release feature. There would be no danger of fingers getting trapped, as far as I can see. And with wet hands (and only one hand free remember) it's very hard to snap back on. Last night was what made me finally email you though. My son was playing with the toy, once again trying to find ways to unlock the hidden treasures of promised enjoyment inside, when he lifted the toy quite high by the wheel on the side. The weight of the toy meant the boat broke off and landed heavily in the water - given that my son has a tendency to triumphantly lift things above his head, the whole boat could easily have fallen on his him. I understand you make claims regarding the testing of these products so I can't believe this problem has been overlooked. I was wondering how thoroughly this particular product was tested, and how?

Totally agree with both previous reviewers as had exactly the same problems with it. Pricy and yet does not do anything in the bath - barely moves, the squirt action is almost non existent and the wheels come off far too easily. Very disappointing, particularly as a Chicco product which I would normally expect to be of a high quality.

Bought this for my Grandson's first birthday, thought it sounded really fun and loved the look as his Dad is in the navy, but it did'nt go and squirt as discribed, very disappointed in this product and surprised that this is so from Chicco as thought the name would be realiable.

This is a huge piece of plastic that sinks, does not squirt, and does not move forward. Useless. My son only likes the circular life belt things at the side, as they are good teethers. (They don't stay attached).

I agree with all the previous reviews, absolutely rubbish, waste of money !!! Doesn't move at all, sinks in the water and its slightly dangerous for the little ones! Do not waist your money.
