Very prompt super quick delivery;arrived next day;instead of quoted timeframe of around a week.Binoculars in very good condition with all items as mentioned as well as extension to warranty from standard 6 mths to 12 mths;this was handwritten on order form from store manager.Considering the binoculars cost me around half their normal rrp ie.around £30 instead of £60;I am very impressed with both the excellent exceptional service received from Fraser and also the quality of binoculars themselves.Excellent optics and feature packed binoculars including multi coated optics and being water resistant but obviously not waterproof or fogproof.Regarding the optics at 10 times magnification excellentbut obviously as you increase to 20 and then 30 times magnification can see purple colour fringing thus slight degradation but this is to be expected as they are Zoom binoculars;however I would say the optics are still very good even up to 30 times magnification and the image is very lifelike almost 3D;regarding keeping the binoculars steady;I got upto around maybe 15 to 20 times magnification at a stretch relatively smooth image;I'd personally say to use a tripod from around 15 times magnification upwards dependent on how steady you can hold these binoculars. These are the first binoculars I've bought up to this high specification from a quality brand such as Celestron, thus cant compare to previous binoculars of this standard;thus I have assessed the optics by comparing to the optical zoom on my point and shoot Canon and Panasonic camera's and on this basis I would say the Celestron binoculars are on par with my camera's optics;thus I am very impressed with these binoculars.I would rate these as the best binoculars you can buy for under £100 all things considered especially the 10-30 times zoom capability as well as the excellent brand Celestron;as mentioned I bought these for around £30 thus much more impressed with these binoculars. The only binoculars that would be in competition with these would be Olympus 8-16 zoom binoculars around £75 and Nikon 10-22 zoom binoculars around £130 or so but considering these Celestron rrp is around £60 and they have better zoom magnification;excellent brand name for value for money and water resistant build;I would say they are the clear winners based on everything.Update:After using these excellent binoculars over the last couple of month's.I still rate these binoculars very highly for high quality at good value for money.Be aware that these binoculars use BAK-7 Optics same as Olympus binoculars mentioned in review but the Nikon Aculon Zoom binoculars use BAK-4 Optics which are the best grade optics for binoculars;however the Nikon are priced around £130 or so;thus if you were looking to spend this much on Zoom binoculars then I would say Nikon would be better binoculars for sure but obviously at around twice the cost and with less zoom. Both the Olympus and Nikon are multi coated lenses same as the Celestron. In regards to Celestron UpClose G2 10-30 × 50 Zoom Binoculars;I would say the more you zoom the less bright the image is;thus 10 times zoom is with best results however upto 20 times zoom brings very good results in normal bright daylight conditions;upto 30 times zoom can be used but I would say this is best for bright sunny conditions due to lower image quality and loss of brightness of image. In low light conditions I would recommend upto 18 times zoom generally.I would say 18 times zoom is the sweet spot for most conditions to get the best out of these binoculars.Do bear in mind I am comparing the results to Celestron LandScout 8 x 40 Binoculars that are far superior and their list price is around £130 or so;these LandScout Binoculars are not Zoom Binoculars but 8 times Magnification.I did get these binoculars from another supplier at £65 incredibly with only one in stock with this supplier. Thus I am being very picky and critical in regards to what these Celestron Upclose G2 10-30 × Zoom Binoculars can do;as I'm comparing them to very high grade Celestron LandScout 8 × 40 Binoculars;technology wise;as this isn't a fair comparison due to much better features and technology with Celestron LandScout Binoculars;it's just to put the Celestron Upclose G2 Zoom Binoculars in perspective. Thus to summarise I still rate these as the Best Zoom Binoculars you can buy for under £100.I just wanted to give you an update and in particular limitations of the Celestron Zoom Binoculars after using them for approx 2 month's.Now the price has reduced to £50 on Amazon thus they represent even better value for money for excellent relatively light weight binoculars all things considered;especially with the 10 to 30 times Zoom capability.

First of all, people need to understand: When ordering binoculars online, especially ones in this range, you are taking the chance you will get a bad pair. Between the factory and the shipping to your door, there's a chance the pair you get WILL BE OUT OF COLLIMATION. This means you will see double and never get a merged focused image. In other words, they'll be useless. If you read through reviews that's the main complaint people have and they conclude the binoculars "just suck". However, it seems the number of bad are outweighed by the number of good ones people received. And Amazon is really good at returns and exchanges, so you really just stand to lose time and convenience having to make the return if they are out of collimation.Having said that...Since my main use is for stargazing I already had gotten the 15x70 SkyMaster, which is also an excellent pair for the price. But because of their size, for hand-held use they can be difficult to use. I can manage pretty well, but my wife definitely had a harder time, so I took a chance with these. Having taken the collimation gamble with the SkyMasters and being a pessimist, I wasn't expecting my luck to be good twice in a row. But these also arrived in collimation and focused just fine. After the relief of that, the second thing I noticed was how much easier they were to hold, and therefore, how much better and stable the image was. Using them at night was just as easy. Between their size and lower magnification I was able to focus in on objects a lot easier than with the SkyMasters. My wife also found them MUCH easier to use. The image is not as close or as bright, but for hand held use the stability of the smaller one wins. However, even though I could see Jupiter and it's moons 'good' with these 10x50's for a longer time, I still switched to the 15x70's for a 'better' but shorter view. That wouldn't be an issue with a good sturdy tripod though and the bigger one would win ~hands down~ (see what I did there?).Like the Skymasters, these came with a thin flimsy soft case, a cheap neckstrap, lens caps, and a tiny microfiber cloth. Unlike the Skymasters, it didn't come with a tripod adapter, which isn't a big deal since most will use them hand-held and the tripod adapter the Skymaster did come with really sucks anyway. It appears to be a well-built pair of binoculars, but that's not saying anything if a good enough bump knocks them out of collimation. Taking that into account, I ditched the flimsy carrying bags for both pairs of binoculars and put them in "Plano Protector Four Pistol" cases. Overkill maybe, but made me feel better.Overall, for $20-30 binoculars, these are really good.

After debating on buying an Astronomy Telescope for weeks, someone advised me to buy a pair of binoculars to try out just in case my new found interest didn't last long. I chose Celestron Upclose G2 Porro Bino 10X50 because they are the largest powered binoculars I could buy WITHOUT having to use a tripod - but they also gave me the option to use a tripod (with an adapter, not included) if I wanted to. You still get "camera-shake" but I'm sure there is a way around holding the binoculars to help minimise it - with practise.I have found many constellations already and I managed to find Jupiter too! The images I saw were so good; even from my back garden and with light pollution I was amazed with the results. It was loads of fun!!I've also used the binoculars for general bird watching / sightseeing and these are genuinely brilliant. The results are so crisp and clear and the optics is excellent. These Binoculars are light-weight compared to some binoculars I looked at. I will definately pop them in my bag this summer when I go to a festival. I will also find use with them when I go hiking with my Nikon DSLR Camera and photograph landscapes. This item well and truly deserves 5 stars! The only thing I can fault is the neck strap is poorly made and hurts your neck after a while but are cheap enough to upgrade (I have already). For this price of binoculars, you can't complain too much! And the neck strap won't affect your end results which is why it doesn't dent my review.I would highly recommend this item if you were going to use them for bird watching, sight-seeing, sports events or concerts. For Astronomy I would place these binoculars somewhere between 'good' and 'great'! Stargazing is GREAT! Planet-spotting (PLANET...not PLANE) is good even though they look like bigger, brighter stars. Just don't expect to see Jupiters Moons or Saturns Rings! If you're using these as a beginner to Astronomy then there is definitely room to upgrade if your hobby persists. But for now, these will do me just fine!

Being a complete novice, I did some research and originally ordered two pairs of Olympus 8x40 DPSI binoculars. When they came, the prism was offset and the inter-pupillary distance was too wide for my eyes so could not get a single focus. Item returned (see Olympus review).I then ordered two pairs of Celestron 10x50 binoculars (based on the reviews and price). I learnt about the technology and these had a larger magnification with a wider aperture allowing for more light to enter, so viewing dimmer objects, These also promised a narrower field of view.Eagerly awaited (as setting off in couple of days), they arrived. We followed the easy instructions to set up the separate eye pieces and used coloured string to identify each set per person (if same person using, this does not then have to be re-set). Then we used them on the garden and liked them. The focus ring is also easier to move than the Olympus.Well did they work?? Yes! The first animal viewed was a male wild tiger whilst on safari in India! What a view (difficult to see with the naked eye in long grass) but we could see his teeth and detail very clearly. Fantastic!! We also used the binoculars on other animals and could see feathers and talons on owls and large birds of prey etc. Amazing detail. Our guides also borrowed these (even though we were at back) to try to locate animals. They chose these over the other people's. Need I say more! The only downside - is the strap could be wider, but I put the strap over my camera one so the weight was distributed. This can easily be remedied by purchasing a wider strap. Both myself and my husband didn't know anything about binoculars until I did a bit of research, but would thoroughly recommend these to all. Well worth it (and bonus as cheaper too).

I admit it. I wanted a pair of binoculars that would fit in the palm of my hand, be wide enough for my eyes, let me see in the dark, and show me a fly on the top of the Eiffel Tower. I have had quite a few 7x20 binoculars, as well as spotting scopes and hobby telescopes, but even at this late date I went for a pair of "40x" binoculars that were way overpromised, and were in fact 8x. At last I surrendered to the realities of physics, and I went for this very affordable pair, from a well reputed maker, with a pretty normal 10x but an available 30x, and a large enough objective lens to gather light quite well. Some reviewers have criticized the quality of this model of binoculars, and I tend to be wary of the "monkey motion" in zoom binoculars. However, taking them out today and looking at houses on the mountain quite a few miles away, as well as other targets, I was very well pleased with the clarity of the view, even through the atmospheric temperature ripples when viewing at longer range. A tripod was helpful when viewing at full zoom. The zooming function was smooth, as were all other adjustments, and the focal alignment was just fine. Not all was perfect, because when viewing at 10x and then zooming to 30x, there is no question of the need to refocus. Also, the right eye focus adjustment needs to be turned most of the time to restore sharpness for both eyes when using the zoom. On the good side, it was always possible to return to quite a pleasantly sharp view. With a more expensive set of optics, I would be a bit more expectant that everything would automatically stay in close adjustment, but at this price, I am content to have something that does the job quite well, with just a little help.

These are not high end binoculars. The strap and case are cheesy, the front caps fall off and the rear caps are hard to put on. The first time I replaced the rear lens caps I was surprised when the eyepieces moved. The arm that supports them is plastic. The eye relief is not all that great, so when wearing glasses you can't quite see the full field of view even with the eye cups folded down. However, for my purpose they are fine. I have a nice pair of 7x35 binoculars, but I wanted something with larger objective lenses for star gazing. These are great for that. Collimation of mine is spot on and the image is sharp and clear. There is a noticeable improvement in brightness and detail over my other pair. The rubbery covering feels good, and they don't weigh much more than my 7x35. Focusing is nice and smooth.Instead of the case and caps, I keep them in a plastic bag on a shelf. Not fancy, but functional. The strap I can live with. With care, I believe they will last a long time. And, if I drop them, it's not the end of the world. That's nice when you're fumbling around in the dark.I can see why some folks receive damaged binoculars. The manufacturer's box is not designed for shipping. There is just a thin strip of foam in the bottom. Amazon puts it in a larger box with some air bladders to fill up the space. There is no padding around the inner box. So, if it gets tossed around, like many packages do, the binoculars take the full brunt of it. Delicate optical instruments should have foam cushion all around.

I got these UpClose G2, the 7x35 for my wife and the 10x50 for me. Mainly for astronomical use. These may not be astronomically optimized, fully multi coated, pixy dusted binoculars, but these humble $25 binos are good enough for star gazing. They survived international shipping in perfect collimation. Focus works well, images are sharp, views of the stars are amazing.A note on sizes:7x35 is a great size for more prolonged handheld use. The magnification is also "just right" for navigating the sky, because more constellations and star clusters fit in the field of view. The 10x50 size is heavier, my hands/arms get tired sooner of holding it. The higher magnification means better views of many things (from the moon to Orion's Nebula)but also means a narrower field of view.A note on focusing: learn how to do it! After adjusting the width to your interpupillary distance, put one of the lens caps on the right lense (so that it's blocked and only your left eye sees through). Then aim at a star, and focus the knob until it's looks like a perfect spot. The switch the cap to the left lense, look with your right eye, and rotate the eyepiece (not the center knob!) until the star is again a perfect spot. Then it's done, remove the lens cap and enjoy! The carry bags an lens caps / dust covers they came with are serviceable. All in all, these are good quality an excellent value.

I'm into astronomy. To compliment my scopes, I've had several sets of binoculars, some costing hundreds of dollars. In addition to astronomy I also use them for wildlife and scouting out places for photography. I lost the use of my left hand recently so I've been looking for a set that are easy to use one handed. I had to sell my 20X80's because they are impossibly heavy. My 15X70's are too heavy as well. My 10X50's are exceptional but still too cumbersome to carry regularly. Form factor and performance are very important to me. These Celestron 7-21x40 nocs are the exact perfect size. Very light and easy to hold which makes them less shaky and far less tiring to use. They ride better in my car without taking up too much space in the passenger seat. I didn't expect much out of these due to the sub $100 price let alone being under $40 but I am completely pleased with the views. They are far better than I expected. My rating on the glass compared to my best would be 3.5 stars but considering the entire package, I'd easily give 4.5 stars. I would not rate sub $100 nocs so highly but these deserve it for the combination of price, performance, ease of use, and form factor.Update: I had a chance to use these on a few deep space objects and they performed excellently and were a joy to use. The Andromeda Galaxy, Double Cluster, and the Orion Nebula were just stunning at 7X.

I am happy with this purchase. This product produces very clear images and at a better magnification than I expected. It definitely lets you see detail in remote objects that you'd otherwise miss. The build quality feels quite good, and it comes with a nice little carrying case. I think it's a very good deal at the price. There are only two shortcomings, but I doubt they are specific to this product -- I'll just note them for anyone (like myself) for whom this might be the first monocular they purchase. First, while the image is clear, it is very difficult to keep steady. The tiniest movement will cause the image to jitter wildly. That's just optics and physics at work, and is in no way the fault of this product itself, but I didn't expect the effect to be quite this strong, since I've previously only had experience with a large telescope mounted on a nice, stable tripod. The only other 'issue' I've had is that I need to keep my glasses on while looking through this monocular in order to produce a perfectly clear image, which can get a little uncomfortable. I have rather poor eye-sight, though, and even without glasses the product is usable -- there's just a bit of fuzziness; again, this has more to do with the laws of optics than with this product itself, but is worth noting if you are quite near-sighted.

Good solid build with aluminum body (not plastic) covered in black amour. Image quality is clear with good colors and light. Field of view is narrow at 166 feet at 1000 yards, but this is to be expected at 20 x magnification. Magnification was excellent but again, trade off is narrow FOV which makes your target difficult to locate. Huge negative is that mine arrived totally out of collmination, so that I was literally seeing 2 objects yards apart from one another. I even located the tiny adjustment screws (which are hidden under the barrel armor when you grip the barrels when viewing) and I tried turnig these screws which did help (miraculously) to correct the double image.Unfortunately I could only locate 2 adjustment screws (there are supposed to be a total of 4, 2 on each barrel for vertical allignment and for horizontal allignment), so altho I got my target image to lineup left to right, I was still seeing double image top to bottom. I tried for another 30 minutes to locate 2 more adjustment screws, but I swear there just weren't anymore than the 2 I successfully located. Thus, I returned item for refund, bc uncollminated binos with double image are USELESS !! Other than the collmination issue (which was a BIG DEAL!!) these binos look like they are rugged, and big bang for the buck. Good luck !!

I have just received these binoculars from UKHobbystore on Amazon. it took only 3 days from order to receipt with free delivery. Many thanksHaving a Celestron telescope and pleased with the quality I thought I would go for their binoculars as a) They were competitively priced and b) The good reviews. I could have gone cheaper (and in some cases more expensive) for a little known or unbranded pair but I thought I would play safe. The binoculars come with a soft nylon type case with a strap and a thin nylon strap for the binoculars themselves. There are 4 lens caps the smaller ones being plastic (or hard rubber) the larger ones are a soft rubber material, a lens cloth and a simple instruction pamphlet.(multi-lingual)The performance of the binoculars themselves are excellent. Producing crisp images with no corona, double or blurring associated with prism misalignment. Both the central and dioptre (right eye piece) focusers are easy to use and the binoculars are surprisingly light. I am looking forward to using them for my astronomical observations.I have knocked a star off as the large rubber lens caps are extremely loose fitting and the slightest jolt sees them falling off. I will have to be careful about this although I feel that as I am taking them out of the case they will come off anyway

I wasn't sure what to expect when I ordered these, well I have tried them out against a pair of 10 x 70 Revue binoculars (you ever heard of them? Can't remember where I got them from but they are heavy, solid and adequate) which I have, and first impressions were 'what have I bought these for?' So I travelled far and wide to test them out, well ok, just Doncasster Racecourse and Robin Hood Airport. I was still unsure about them but quickly affirmed to myself that I don't really know much about optics and focals, at first I could not work out if they had any benifits at all over the 10 x 70's, then trying them some more I found thet yes they are better than my existing pair of Bino's.As the title suggests things far away are very clear seemingly up close. At Robin Hood Airport, I could quite easily watch farmers working the land beyond the furthest perimeter fence, as for details around the airport, no problem at all. I have yet to test them on a clear starry night, I was originally going to go for the Celestron Stargazers but opted for these instead, the strap for the bino's themselves feels a bit weak and the carry case feels the same but totherwise they seem well put together although I never found a tripod mounting. I think these will grow on me so for now I will give them a four out of five.

My dad had a pair of binoculars similar but not the same brand as these. I remember they were fun to use, but when he died I was not sure where they went. So when I saw this pair of binoculars on Amazon I knew they were a must-have for me. When I put my order in I was expecting delivery to take a few days because that's what was estimated on the order, but to my surprise, they arrived the next day. I must say though that the first set came and there was a lens loose, so I was a bit disappointed, but I didn't have to worry, Celestron had an email sent with a return label and a second pair was on its way. I got them today, the very next day, so fabulous service. When I opened the package this pair was rock solid,no issues. The controls were easy to use, so I could get them to focus well at 10x magnification, they adjusted well to my own sight requirements. When I zoomed to 30x magnification the image seemed to be a little double vision but pulling out to 25-26x magnification the image was just as sharp as at 10x magnification. (I probably still have to get used to them). However, they are a massive improvement on the old Pentax 10x magnification binoculars I have and these Celestron binoculars will get plenty of use. I am very pleased with them.

These binoculars are well made and good value for the price. They come with a nice, portable carrying case with a velcro strap to close it, and are very light. I bought them because I recently moved to an area where there are lots of birds I was unfamiliar with, and wanted to see them a little closer up. I am quite happy with them. They seem very sturdy as well. They are also supposed to be water resistant, but I haven't tested that theory and doubt I will, because usually "resistant" (as opposed to "proof") means they can be splashed with water but not submerged. The only reason I'm not giving them five stars is because the magnification (8x), compared to other binoculars, isn't that great. These are great for viewing things within a few hundred metres, and will also give you a nice look at some celestial night objects as well, but they're not "long range" binoculars, so I'd only recommend them for casual hiking or bird watching, etc. I don't have kids myself, but I think they would make a great "starter" set of binoculars for children to have fun with.Overall, these are a very good value and definitely worth the price. It is nice to see some products that are still made solid and evidently with pride in their construction.

This celestron upclose 7x35 produces a very clear, sharp image for its low price..a good porro prism binocular will give a far superior image compared with most mid priced roof prism binoculars which need phase coatings, ed glass and all the other fancy coatings just to compete with a porro and even then you are still better off with the "old fashioned " style porro. If you want a lovely relaxing natural stereoscopic view stick with a porro design. This particular one gives such a view and ok it might not be quite as bright as an instrument which has bak-4 prisms ( this celestron is made using the supposedly inferior bak-7 ) which back in the 70's & 80's was commonly used in nearly all Japanese made binoculars including some very good ones! The field of view is a pleasingly wide one although there is some edge distortion but with most porro made binoculars that is the case anyway. Close focus is about 4 metres but the first one i received was nearer 7..! There will be some variations in spec at this price ( Chinese quality control) however if you get a good one it will give you a lovely sharp view perfect for watching birds in flight with no eye strain! Highly recommended at this price..
