Exquisitely patterned retro-design ball pen from Caran d'Ache with a tiny lozenge pattern engraved on each of the six sides of the hexagonal body. Good weight to the pen as it is made from brass, then silver plated and finally coated with rhodium to give a brilliant finish in every sense of the word. Smooth and completely silent push button action and the goliath refill writes smoothly and evenly for page after page. Nicely rounded clip holds the pen securely in a pocket too. Definitely a luxury, certainly an impulse buy, but an absolute pleasure to hold and write with. Comes in a good solid branded box, and would make a lovely present for someone - they're not having mine though !I have since bought the matching mechanical pencil,

I own three items from the Ecridor range - the fountain pen, ballpoint and mechanical pencil. All three are a joy to use.The mechanical pencil has (like all the other writing instruments in this range) a lovely weight to it. It uses 0.7mm leads. There is a rubber concealed underneath the end cap. No more cheap throwaway plastic pencils for me!This is my most recent acquisition from the Ecridor range and I shall treasure it always. My other Ecridor pens (fountain pens and ballpoints) are serving me well even after 12 years! Truly exceptional quality, worth every penny.

I own three items from the Ecridor range - the fountain pen, ballpoint and mechanical pencil. All three are a joy to use.The ballpoint pen writes exceptionally smoothly. I love the hexagonal barrel and am particularly fond of the Retro finish. I carry my pens around in my handbag and use them for everything. The pens often draw comment when I am filling in forms, jotting appointments down in my diary etc.I've had mine for over ten years and will continue to treasure it for years to come.

I love the weight and feel of this pencil, I am one of those people who gets excited about stationery and own a multitude of different pens and pencils made from all materials and this has hit the top of my list as favourite now, the balance is just perfect for me. I find the lead output very satisfactory and you can buy extra lead from Amazon directly.

Great looking pen, stylish but subtle. Writes very, very well, as good as pens costing twice as much. Only complaint is that the grib is a little slippery, and you will have to hold the hexagonal barrel, like holding a pencil, at a relatively low angle. For me, hard to hold the pen for a long writing session.

The quality, shape and feel of the pen are immediately evident. It's smooth and has a silent mechanism - no annoying or intrusive 'click'. However, after a few months the clip on my ball point came off and trying to locate the four small prongs back into their receptors for re-glueing was no easy task.

This is beautifully made and writes beautifully and its stylish simplicity may even improve my handwriting. Its a very expensive indulgence perhapsbut should give a lifetime of use and oozes a solid, rich, quality whenever you pick it up. Delivery a bit slow but worth waiting for.

Excellent communication and speedy dispatch. The Caran Dache pencil is exactly as described, a quality item which us a pleasure to use and will last very many years. Worth paying for this kind of quality.

When you buy a Caran d'ache pencil and you judge it like a ballpen , it' s normal you can't find tne "wow"! !It's like if you hésitate between a Ford Mustang and a Ford Fiesta, you can't compare!

Classic design, flawless quality. Medium nib and using with J.Herbin ink, I cannot fault this, and in time am sure I will add more of the range to my collection. Maybe the pencil next...
