The MG5750 is the second PIXMA printer I have owned, having previously purchased an MX475 for work. In this case the MG5750 will be for home use and will replace a slightly aged Kodak Hero 5.1 that has done sterling service but was always a cheap, budget concious option. When I was lucky enough to be offered an MG5750 to review courtesy of the Amazon Vine Programme it seemed the perfect time for an upgrade. Here therefore, are my thoughts on the MG5750, based on several weeks of use:Build Quality - The best way I can describe the MG5750 is that it feels solid. Nothing on it feels flimsy or as if Canon have skimped on materials to save a couple of quid. The plastic casing is reasonably heavy duty. The various access covers for the paper feed and the scanning bed are all securely attached, and the latching for them seem robust.Design - The MG5750 follows the same design cues as all PIXMA printers; namely the same squat, rounded profile and black outer casing. This gives it a low key look and makes it relatively short in height, with no top-mounted paper feed or output. The trade off however is a printer that is quite wide and deep; occupying a fair amount of surface real estate. This is not the printer for a small or cluttered work area. The styling, with its slopes and curves and flush access covers, means that the MG5750 is not the dust magnet that many printers become over time. There are no nooks and crannies where fluff and other detritus can gather. A quick dust with a cloth is enough to keep the printer looking clean.Canon have also made the wise decision to integrate the Printer's PSU into the main body of the device, so there's no separate power pack to clutter up floor space. Just a simple cable running straight to the mains.Ease of Set-up - As will all PIXMA printers, the MG5750 comes with set-up instructions in multiple languages. Once you have located the language you need the instructions are relatively straightforward for both the physical set-up and linking the printer to both PCs and tablets/phones. In my case I have linked it to two laptops running Windows 7 and two tablets running Android Lollipop. All four devices were linked over wi-fi via our 12 month-old BT Homehub. In the case of the PCs I downloaded the driver and set-up software from the Canon website and the whole process took about ten minutes per computer, with no errors. I chose not to download any other Canon software on offer other than the basic drivers, since I don't like bloatware. In the case of the tablets I downloaded the free Canon Print App. After download linking up took about five minutes per tablet; again with no errors. In all cases the software or app was straightforward to use and the instructions easy to follow. Linking the printer to our router beforehand took two attempts and wasn't quite as straight forward, but the connection has remained stable since. The physical set-up was equally easy. Once all the packaging (of which there is possibly a little too much) has been removed and the printer plugged in, it takes a few minutes to load the ink cartridges included in the box. There are several of these to load, but the process is helped by having LEDs that tell you when each cartridge is correctly positioned. After that all you have to do is run off a test print, complete a configuration scan and the MG5750 is ready to go.Performance - If you're looking for a printer to do bulk printing then the MG5750 is not the one you want. Whilst the quality is excellent, with good definition and bright colours, printing speed is not the fastest. Its fine for short documents and photographs, but not for anything longer than a a few pages. The fact that the feed tray will hold no more than twenty pages of standard weight A4 paper tells you the sort of printing the MG5750 is intended for.Scanning is easy enough to do. The only niggle is that the scan bed is slightly recessed into the top of the printer so that cover lies flush when closed. This isn't an issue when scanning anything A4 sized or smaller, but if you want to scan the page of a book or something larger is hard to get the object to rest flat on the glass. Matters aren't helped by the sloping edges around the scanning bed, which tend to make larger objects want to slide off if not held in place. After only using the printer for a few weeks I can't comment on ink consumption. I will update this review if I encounter any major issues going forward. Otherwise you can assume that consumption was reasonable compared to similar printers. My only other comment is that the MG5750 is a somewhat noisy printer when in operation. There is a 'quiet printing' option but I haven't had the chance to try this yet. In standard mode however, it does get loud enough to be irritating; especially during the initial print phase. As with all multi-function printers the MG5750 will handle multiple paper-stocks and page sizes. However, only one type can be loaded at a time, so again this is not a printer designed for bulk printing.Cloud printing is also possible. Again I haven't had a chance to try this yet, but connection the MG5750 to Google's cloud print services was relatively straightforward.Summary - Base on initial impressions the MG5750 is a well built, nicely designed and capable multi-function printer with some limitations and minor niggles. It seems very much intended for home or small-business use and will not suit anyone looking to do high volume printing. However, its easy to set up and run, and produces consistently good results.

The MG 5750 is the Autumn 2015 refresh of the entry level/ budget Pixma home all in one printer from Canon but I'm happy to report that the least expensive Pixma budget model gives a very good all round performance.Unpacking reveals quite a good looking printer that very much follows the styling cues of the Pixma range and that is no bad thing. This is definitely not a small printer in terms of footprint ( best to check if you only have limited desk space) but in our opinion manages to look as good as a printer can do with the use of high quality plastics. Unlike previous more expensive models, the paper sits conventionally in an exposed tray. As seems the norm these days with consumer appliances of all sorts, the mains cable could do with being a bit longer but that is a small point. Full marks to Canon for making sure that the conventional cable fits directly into the printer in contrast to some other manufacturers' models that have a separate power pack. It should be possible to easily source a third party longer cable if you so wish.Set up instructions are on a large fold out quick start sheet but are easy to follow and you can download a full manual if you want to explore all the functionality of the MG 5750.WiFi connection to our BT HomeHub5 was quick and painless. After that, the MG 5750 takes a little while to perform initial set up so have a coffee and jus let it get on with it.Unlike more expensive models that use 6 cartridges, the MG 5750 has 5 cartridges ( no grey) but in practice I don't think most users will notice much impact with everyday print quality. Thank you Canon for still keeping to individual colour cartridges, making replacement of individual colours possible rather than having to throw out a TriColour cartridge as with certain other manufacturers when only one colour has run out.The MG5750 is Apple AirPrint ready and was picked up by iPads, iPhones and a late 2013 iMac running El Capitan (OS drivers available online) without any problems and test pages quickly followed without difficulty. It is also Google CloudPrint ready but we unfortunately didn't have a device to test it. No reason however to doubt that it would not work as well as with Apple iOS. Linking to a Windows 10 laptop was also easy and trouble free.No touchscreen on this entry level model but instead a must directional push button interface and to be honest, that doesn't really cause any problems.Requesting a print results in quite an impressively quick response time for a budget printer, Possible to have automatic double sided copies and the print speed was good compared to other budget printers that we use. Print quality was satisfactory for documents and, considering that this is a budget printer, really surprisingly good for photos.Scanning (1200x2400 resolution) is simple both using touchscreen and the Canon apps on the iOS devices and iMac. No automatic document feeder but, for the price, that isn't a real surprise. Not too noisy, the MG 5750 also has an Eco quiet mode but we find the normal full function mode is fine even when the machine is in a room adjacent to bedrooms.Canon ink is still not the cheapest but we have found that these Pixma printers are reasonably economical with the ink and you can always use XL sized cartridges that usually work out cheaper per print than the smaller units. After three weeks hard home/office use, we are still on the supplied cartridges. This is pretty much on par with a 2014 model MG series Pixma printer that we currently use and we have been very impressed with its running costs so hopefully the MG 5750 will follow suit. If however there is any negative change, I will update this review. All in all, rather an impressive entry level printer that gives a good performance and, whilst lacking some of the frills of more expensive models, should prove more than adequate for most home users.Happy to recommend.

First off, allow me to save a few people the headache of having to Google - Yes, this is exactly the same as the MG5750, just in white. All the reviews etc. for the 5750 apply to this one too.I bought this to replace my father's old Lexmark, which is still working but has unreliable drivers for Win 8 and 10. He wanted an all-in-one and I wanted a wireless printer so the rest of the family get to use it without pulling leads or "messing with his computer". It seemed very much an even race between HP, Epson and Canon in the sub £100 market so I just went with price at the time and the Canon was the winner. The machine came with inks and some photo paper.Setup was easy enough for me but my father probably represents a number of people in his discomfort with the wireless aspect, setting it up via a website and not having a printed manual. Still, once done it just shows as a normal printer target in Windows and he hasn't complained since. The paper input tray and output catcher are at the front and they fold out (quite complicatedly) from behind a cover. This means that the machine isn't as sleek as the pics when in use and also that it takes up more space. The loading mechanism has been reliable for the prints I've done but I haven't used it heavily. The output catcher is also rather flimsy and clearly only meant to handle a few dozen sheets at most (although that seems fair enough, this is a light-use consumer printer). The printer doesn't auto-detect what paper you've loaded so you have to set the paper type every time you reseat the tray, which is a bit annoying. The scanner/copier works fine within the bounds of what I expect at this price point. The controls are... ok. It's a colour display graphic menu system with both arrow keys and separate selection buttons underneath. The interface switches awkwardly between having you use the arrow keys to move a highlighter and pressing OK to select and giving you options with no highlighter to move and expecting you to use the buttons underneath. It's not very intuitive but after you've been through a process once it's not overly painful to find your way through again. So, overall it loses a star for the paper loading and output trays and the UI being a bit clumsy. Other than that it does what it should do as far as I'm concerned and I'm happy.

In this 'plug and play' and environmetally friendly age, the installation of this printer was shameful. Took me about an hour, in which things didn't always seem logical and I'm not even sure how I got set up in the end, and in which I threw away all 12 booklets that weren't in my language. However, I'm now good to go and the printer seems fine and thankfully familiar after many happy years with an MP640.The first effort failed because my computer couldn't detect the printer and I wasn't able to take the alternative step offered because I hadn't installed the inks first (I know, how madcap of me) - only then do you see the screen on the printer itself which lets you proceed with the alternative option. Then,as I was installing the drivers from the CD, I saw a message which said 'Installing Print Garden'. Knowing how much extra crap Canon likes to install on your computer, I clicked cancel - but no, that would have been too easy; in fact, this cancelled the entire installation and I had to start again from scratch. So on my 3rd attempt, the installation went all the way through and then - at the very last moment - gave me "Canon has detected an error with your installation" and a big red cross - and no further suggestions. So just as a test, I tried printing from my Samsung Galaxy S6, which picked the printer up without a hiccup and printed immediately. Back to the computer, then.I started the whole installation over again (fourth bloody time), and this time everything worked. So if you buy this printer, I recommend that before installing it you take a cheese grater and rub the rough side all over your face for about 3 minutes. Then the installation will feel like light relief. To be fair, although the computer installation was a stressful pain (in which I envisioned having to phone a Canon call centre on Mars and/or return the printer hopefully to the vendor), (1) printing from my Android phone could not have been easier, (2) the printer wasn't expensive, (3) I've been happy with Canons in the past, and (4) this one does get excellent reviews. It remains to be seen whether my Chromebook and my daughter's iPad connect as easily as my phone, and whether I like this printer as much as my MP640. Only time will tell.

I ordered this printer as, sadly a water leak had damaged the Canon Pixma MG6450 that I have had for the past 2 years. I really liked that printer but did not want to pay the price of the newer model. The price of the MG5751 was about half of that. It has the same features except a slot for an SD card, but I have one of those on my laptop. Sadly the inks are different so I had to buy new ones and couldn't use the nearly new inks in the dead printer.Having mastered the set up for a Mac (not too difficult at all) and printed some stuff, I turned it off. The next day it would not turn back on again. I phoned Amazon returns service and spoke to a very helpful lady, called Sarah, who ordered another to be sent out and delivered the next day (Sunday). She e-mailed the return labels and that was that. I sent the faulty printer back, the new one arrived the next day and it has worked perfectly since. The set up inks lasted me about 2 weeks, or about 200 pages (rough guess). The set of XL inks cost considerably more than the printer, but it does everything I need it to. Scans to my laptop or a flash drive, copies and prints. The printing and copies are of a good quality and photographs come out really well. The draft printing is faster and uses less ink but the readability does suffer, but is ok for text documents. The inks are very easy to change. All in all. for the price (£49.99) I think that this is a perfectly good printer; and the customer service was excellent!

This is a very simple to set up printer and it works great with Apple products and services with no extra software required for OSX users. Pay careful attention to how the box tells you to remove the printer as you must have the box horizontal and remove it from the side opening. Once out of the box, there is a simple to follow printed pictorial step by step guide but as soon as you plug it in, the instructions repeat on the LCD screen. Once our old printer was uninstalled from our Macs, it was a doddle as the Macs then found the printer and we were ready to print. The printer also works from smartphones, including iPhone, which is what we have, and will also "print" to the iCloud with a click of a button. It will also do PDF and remotely check the status of the printer over the internet. The Wifi works great, I was able to print from upstairs without any trouble. The pictures are great quality, with crisp, clear images and bright true colours. Text comes out easy to read as well. It has an automatic double side printing feature. This printer also uses cartridges where you replace the colours individually, so less wasted ink. I'd also like to mention that while working, it is VERY quiet- it barely made any noise at all. Over all, we're very impressed as at last, we found a printer that does everything we've ever wanted or hoped for.

Bought this to replace an ageing HP Deskjet F380. After opening the box and removing the contents I found and followed the English quickstart instructions.(At least ten or so other languages there... what a waste of paper and print!) Initial paper and calibration setup went smoothly as did connecting to Wifi. The printer itself is quite deep and wide though less tall compared to my old one. Driver software downloads went smoothly, and I un-ticked all the other software which was then offered that I did not want. Setting up on another couple of computers both PC and MAC via wifi went just as easily, and I downloaded the Canon app on my Android tablet and phone, they also then connected easily.Print quality is excellent, both text and photos, and I love the ability to easily duplex print on both sides of the paper. I'm also happy to get rid of a USB cable, as I intend to use this Wifi connected only. I have set the auto power option, which wakes it up from standby reliably from all computers and devices when a print or scan command is sent. Early days, but no paper jams or other problems so far, and hopefully the separate inks will mean I use less than with my previous tri-colour cartridge printer. So far very happy with this great value product!

Having always bought Epson printers and after a bit of research this came up as best buy for the cheaper injet printers. I am not disapointed print quality scans and copying are excellent quality. Setting up was straight forward though I have to say the qiuck start guide could be clearer. I am not a real fan of the controls .... 3 buttons below the LCD screen used to select items on screen rather than the usual left right, up down arrows and ok button but this you soon get used to. Paper loading is from the front in a cassette which pulls out to load paper and pushes back in ready for printing ... In my view better than the rear laoding I am used to on the epsons. Ink cartidge installation is straight forward,by lifting the front flap and as cartridges are inserted an LED lights on the cartridge to show correct installation. All in all I am very pleased with this all in one printer and I have to say, glad I moved away from Epson after all these years. Highly recommended.

Very good value, and capable printer. The printer took a good 40 minutes to set up- not hugely complicated, just time consuming (as other users have found). It came with a full set of inks to start printing, and the copies and quality are very good. That you have to reaffirm the paper size if you open or close the tray at any stage is not a huge problem (just requires a click of "OK"). I did find that the first five or so separate printing requests (ie: made on different days) the printer had vanished from my laptop, re-installed it twice from the enclosed disk, but didn't find it necessary to change settings to a Dynamic address- as it's settled down and finds the printer everytime. Not thefastest response time - but then this is a home printer/scanner/copier and does everything I need. The fact that it was white saved 30% over the standard Black colour option (MG5750).I would definitely recommend, especially for the quality and finish of copies.

My Canon IP6600D has just broke down after 10 years which was a shame as it was outstanding at printing Photos using 6 Cartridges.I wasn't sure about the MG5750 for printing photos as it doesn't use 6 Cartridges so I assumed the print quality wouldn't be as good, how wrong was I, I sent 3 photos from my Galaxy S7 Edge and they printed beautifull, the Scanner also works a dream and is quick. The best thing that I liked about the MG5750 is that you load the photo paper from the bottom unlike my old printer which had to be fed from the top, this was a pain for me as I had to move my printer from the shelf it was on.Also scans in colour which is ideal for doing childrens homework. Some people complained that you have to move the paper from the printer when not in operation, this is true but most Canon printers I have owned have been the same so I'm use to this, I just place a small quantity of paper on the top of the printer ready.

This printer gives good quality results and provides good instructions through prompts on your monitor and lcd screen. It can take a little time to 'warm up' chugging away for a little while but once it decides to print it spits paper out at a rate of knots. Automatic double sided printing is great, I printed out an eighty sheet document the other day and only used forty sheets of paper, Hurrah! I haven't used the wireless connection from a smart phone etc yet so can't comment on that. It's good that there are five different ink cartridges which saves on wasted ink.Only down side is that I can't find anybody selling compatible ink cartridges yet and a full set of inks is almost the same price as the printer!Fitting XL cartridges does bring the cost per page down. Over all it's a good quality printer, had it for about six weeks with no problems so far.

I ordered this printer less than 48 hours ago to be delivered to the Isle of Wight...it arrived this afternoon and I was all up and running in under 40 minutes of receipt.Admittedly this is because I just loved this printer first time around and when it gave up the ghost on me two days ago I was just hoping against hope I could still find a replacement in the same model as printers seem to go obsolete so very quickly.Happily I found this still available on Amazon and as I write this I'm printing off some family photos in time for a Birthday.A wonderful printer at a great price, lovely realistic colours and so easy to use and economical cartridges to replace the old ones, this is a printer I'drecommend to anyone considering purchasing.I'm so,so pleased this evening I promise you!

So far very pleased with it and the prints are sharp for ordinary everyday prints. I haven't tried printing a photo so can't comment on that aspect. It scans and copies well. It was a bit tricky to get it found and set up on my home wifi network as the printed instructions are a bit vague and my network couldn't see the printer. The manual on the CD has more information and I finally got there. Mine arrived with a European two pin electric plug included and no UK plug. Luckily I had owned a Canon printer previously and was able to use the plug from that one. On the plus side it came with a set of full ink tanks. I think for the money it is an excellent printer and rivals the prints of the much more expensive model I owned previously.I would certainly recommend it

I do a lot of scanning, editing and printing of photographs and the quality produced by my old printer, with which I had never been totally satisfied, was deteriorating rapidly. I researched budget-price alternative brands, read all the reviews and, despite the few negative comments, this appeared to be the best buy. I have now given it a thorough work-out: having got accustomed to the somewhat different technology from my previous model and experimenting with the settings (a little trial-and-error was involved here), the resulting print quality is excellent, it works admirably with my Windows 10 laptop and it connects immediately with my wi-fi hub in the next room. (Yes, it is a bit noisy, but so what? - so was my old one!). To sum up, I am very happy with it.

Excellent quality printing, for both documents and photos, and excellent quality scanning. I love that it will print duplex with either long or short edge, and the template documents are very useful. Photocopying is a breeze. The only thing that lets this product down is the amount of noise it makes between printing, even with night mode enabled. Printing ink onto paper is itself very quiet and incredibly fast, but it pauses and makes a lot of noise when feeding the paper back in to print on the other side, and does the same between every few pages of a document. It is incredibly easy to set up for wireless use across a network, either from a desktop/laptop (using MS Windows or Linux of any flavour)or from a phone or tablet running Android.
