I bought this to resurrect an old Canon MP460 printer.Like many of us, I keep taking 'photos' but, for me, they're not really photos until they're printed out. They end up sitting on your hard drive or SD card and over time they are lost or wiped and the memories are gone for ever. So, I decided to start printing out the photos that I knew I wanted to keep.I thought I would purchase original Canon paper as, hopefully, some kind of quality is guaranteed.I'm pleased with the results. They fit the printer well and I haven't experienced any jamming so far.The paper itself is nice quality. Each sheet of 6 x 4 weighed in at 3.06 grammesAn old picture from a commercial print company such as Bonusprint weighs in at 3.69 grammes. So, this paper is slighter lighter, but comparable. The finish is a nice gloss, not quite as glossy as the paper you would have got from a printers, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. It takes the ink well, with no bleeding and is dry instantly.I don't have an awful lot to compare it to, but I'm very happy with this paper, and for the cost of a hundred sheets, I think it's good value.I hope you found this review helpful.

What can you say when having to review printer ink?Well it works and I guess actually it works pretty well. This is probably more a bonus for the printer itself rather than the ink, but I've been using the printer none stop printing out colour pages every week since September. The ink finally ran out in January, not too shabby, though I am on to my second bought black ink now, but as everybody knows the black ink will drain out faster than you can blink with most printers. I guess I can now recommend the cannon fine ink printer range, one for the ink usage which is top draw - though being fine ink you CANNOT buy refurbished cartridges as it will destroy your printer before you know it.My flatmate for example, his printer has just broken so last night needed me to print off a journal for him, I put the printing on the lowest quality possible (as the journal for just for reference) and he was amazed by the quality of the printing especially as it was all in his words 'incredibly quick.'So there you have it, a little on the expensive side, but you get what you pay for.

After using generic ink cartridges we went back to using Canon originals for our Canon Pixma MP980 multifunction printer. The turning point was that my girlfriend started a photography degree and a requirement of this was to calibrate the colours on the monitor and printer. It was not until we embarked on this process that we became aware of the wide variations in colour rendering (including black) that are possible. The only way to achieve accuracy and consistency for the purposes of the photography course have been to use these original Canon cartridges. This multipack softens the blow a bit as it does represent excellent value.I have to say, that apart from this colour issue,we used good quality generic cartridges until recently without difficulty, and it may well be if your use is less critical than a photography course demands then they will continue to suffice. Until my girlfriend finishes her course it looks like we'll have to dig deeper into our pockets and use originals which have all been delivered swiftly via Amazon.

I purchased a canon pixma printer from Amazon last Autmn and the printing is good. However the ink cartridges like the one purchased don't last that long. The one I just bought lasted longer than the others the reason I think is that it is black photographic ink and iasn't used as much as the other cartridges which I am on second replacements. Canon appear to have reduced the capacity of their cartridges for printers after the pixma 4500 series but not the price, You might say why don't I buy generic cartridges. I did for the last printer which was an epsom stylus only to find they appeared to cause the print head to wear out quicker.I would say that the printing costs are ok for general printing using the canon pixma series cartridges but if you do a lot of photo printing it works out a lot more cost effective to use an online photo print service such as snapfish who I find are very good.

My first Dell printer was £35, but the sting is in the ink refills. The Dell would not recognise compatible inks. The next printer was an Epson (£49) that was OK for a while, but I became convinced these low priced printers, apart from the ink prices also had a life built in as after a couple of years the Epson printer would not recognise genuine Epson inks. My next printer was a HP model bought from Argos that my pc would not load its own CD software. I am now using a Canon again from Argos and admittedly the inks are not cheap but the features and quality are better than experienced. I only purchase genuine Canon inks and am repaid in quality and longevity. I also only purchase Canon photo paper. The printer loves it and the finished result is always very satisfactory. Most of us try cheaper alternatives as I have, but for me, genuine is always best. Read full review...

"You get what you pay for". And theres no better old motto than that to describe these cartridges from Canon. It costs me almost £50 to refill ALL the cartridges in this printer, which is almost twice the price than what I used to pay for original Epson inks for my old printer and it came with some 10x6cm photo paper too.Print quality from these inks are simply unbeatable though, and don't get any issues with them clogging heads up or ruining the printer ink sensors which I have had in the past with certain compatibles.Colours seem better too. Compatibles, especially the Black used to come out a tad too green for some reason. Therefore, its down to you. For those who mostly print text, you'd be better off saving money and getting decent compatibles. If you print photos like I do, spend the extra and get the genuine ink.

With a recent Granddaughter in the family, I needed to get some more paper. With my Canon printer, I only ever use genuine cartridges, and with it, genuine Canon photo paper. Although thoroughly recommended, Canon have pulled a fast one here. It's rated at 200gsm. That's the weight of 1 sheet per square metre.( I used to be in the printing industry, that's how paper weight is measured). However, my old pack is 210gsm. The difference may not seem much, but the thickness is quite noticeable. As it happens, all the photos I print are going into an album anyway, so not a problem for me, but an observation nonetheless. On a positive, the new paper does look a little 'whiter'so will give a better colour balance.

While you can get cheaper generic cartridges that do work, the Canon ones do have better usage rates in the long term and have the benefit of being designed for use with Canon printers. I've tried generics with previous printers and they have given up the ghost well before I'd expect a printer to. However, my current printer, with which I've only used originals has lasted longer than the others. Maybe coincidence but probably not.Only minor gripe - would be nice if, in this environmental age, they included a post paid return envelope for used cartridges, either for their own use or for one of the many charities who collect them.

I spoke to Canon regarding these Ink Cartridge and they were saying that use only Canon Original because they give you best end result and they Canon have spent time and money on R&D on ink for printer so they know what colour and ratio dye to get the perfect colour print and do not buy third party ink becuase they have not spent the money the R&D and the ink and colour could be weak. If you use Original they said that you would prolong the life of the printer. I do not know about the last statement.

I received the order quite quickly, but was unhappy with the wording on the packet.I realise the firms have rules to abide by, to do with Customs, but i found itmisleading from my point of view! It made out that the goods were cheaper than what i paidfor them. Also i have never been sent genuine Canon inks before without the Canon packaging.I did email the firm about it. I did not receive any indication that they would be changingthe wording on their packaging.Yours sincerelymrs M Burwood

Having had bad experiences with "compatible" inks, I vowed to buy only genuine original cartridges for my Canon Pixma MP560 when I bought it a few years ago. I always buy this product, and I have never had any problem with clogging, banding, splotching, or anything - the prints always come out crystal clear whether I'm doing a quick draft on cheap A4, or a high quality print onto inkjet photographic paper. It's a shame they don't last a bit longer, but maybe I should try printing a bit less...

Can't say much about the product apart from 'always buy originals'. You get what you pay for and with Canon originals the value for money is excellent. Don't be fooled by the estimated cartridge life though. If you have a 600 series Pixma like me you can easily reset the 'ink low' warning and continue printing. I regularly get 10-15% more out of the cartridge than the system suggests. Always keep a spare though for when it does finally run out. Happy printing.

Bought these replacement cartridges (a three pack of Cyan, Magenta and Yellow) for my Canon Pixma MP540 and can report they are excellent. So far, these originals have been in place for a couple of months or more now, and still no streaks or patchy prints have been produced. The quality of the inks, in conjunction with the printer, are as good as any I have come across for a home PC printer (and I have seen a few)A very hearty recommendation

I’ve used many different types and brands of photo paper over the years but the Canon papers do work best in my Canon printer. This paper is on the thin side so probably won’t stand up to much handling but printed and framed the images are very nice with accurate colour reproduction.100 sheets for little over a tenner is good value too.4 stars only because the paper is quite thin but other than that I’m happy.
