Will this replace the CG Chef? It certainly is easier to fold up. Like the CG Chef it has a windshield and toaster. The difference is these wind protecting rings. Unfortunately Campingaz are not providing comparable information. So when boiling a litre of water on the 2200 watts CG Camp Kitchen ring it takes 5 minutes 20 seconds with no wind. With this cooker, it takes 10 minutes to boil a litre of water in a 3m/s (7 mph) wind (presumably at 20 degrees c?) So they are not comparable so as to discover whether these new Xcelerate rings are any better. It seems difficult to confirm CGs claim that these new rings only use up half the gas.One criticism of all CampinGaz toasters is that they take a long time to toast, and this seems to be the same story with the 600. Whether it is better to buy the "SG" version with grill plates and toast the bread this way, no one yet seems to know.It does have a fixed simmer setting, but doesn't have two different size rings for cooking control. I wish they could produce a stove with 1 x 3000 watt (like the Coleman instastart stove) and 1 x 1500 watt ring to give better control over cooking.Overall, a good stove, but if you don't need toast, save weight, time and money by buying the version without grill or perhaps the SG version with grill plates. If you are going to use both rings and toaster at same time, don't use a CG 907 bottle, but go for a Calor 4.5Kg butane and Union 109 regulator, or in winter, and assuming you are not transporting the bottle in your car, then a 3.9Kg propane bottle with POL 105 regulator.

The new wind protecting rings! Unfortunately Campingaz are not providing comparable information. So when boiling a litre of water on the 2200 watts CG Camping Kitchen ring it takes 5 minutes 20 seconds with no wind. With this cooker, it takes 10 minutes to boil a litre of water in a 3m/s (7 mph) wind (presumably at 20 degrees c?) So they are not comparable so as to discover whether these new Xcelerate rings are any better. It seems difficult to confirm CGs claim that these new rings only use up half the gas.The stove does have a wind protecting lid, a fixed simmer setting, but doesn't have two different size rings for cooking control. I wish they could produce a stove with 1 x 3000 watt (like the Coleman Instastart stove)and 1 x 1500 watt ring to give better control over cooking. The grill plates have three problems. Firstly there are two of them (unlike the Camping Kitchen grill tray) so grease will travel between the two, secondly the ridges holding the fat collection water bath are too shallow and if the legs are not levelled, then parts will remain dry, and thirdly, there are insufficient ridges at the edges of the grill to stop sausages rolling off.Overall, and because of the slow toaster on the T version, this is the version I would go for. Who knows, the grill trays may make good toast, although you may have to put up with the remains of the previous night's grilled steaks!

I wanted one of these last year but as we were only having 1 camping trip we decided to wait and eek out another year from our old camping stove. I'm so pleased with this, our last one didnt have the stand so we either had to take a second table or have it take up space on the table we were eating on - not the best. This doesn't take up much extra space int he car but is totally free-standing - and pretty stable. the 2 separte grills are great as we cook pasta/potatoes/beans in a pan on one side and then meat /toast on the grill on the other. Really easy to clean - if you remember to put water in the bottom of the grill pans!

I like Campingaz. My family grew up using their camping stoves and stuff, so I trusted the purchase.I'm pleased to say I wasn't wrong to trust them. Very nice quality, very good looking and very capable. It's a bit heavy to carry it about, but for what it's offering it's fantastic. You wouldn't want to haul it through the countryside on a picnic, but for using as intended, it has all you need for a mini kitchen. The quality of the parts are also very good. The test of time will tell if it's rugged, but with some careful use and respect, I'm sure it will last as long as we need it to.

Powerful wind proof gas burners for outside cooking. Cooks a lot quicker than regular stoves without the Xcelerate burners. Self contained, no need for table as mounts on own easy to fit legs. Additional side wings to helping with handling pots and food prep. Will be taking camping soon. I think it suits being setup and left in position ready for use for duration of your camping holiday, though it's no big effort to setup. It's a substantial item thats effectively like taking your kitchen cooker camping with you, so you'll be able to cook like being at home.

We purchased this as replacement for a campingaz dual burner with grill cooker, that I purchased in 1997, so it didn't owe me anything and has now been taken over by my daughter. I really like the design of this cooker. Being free standing and self contained is a great bonus. The shelf is functional - but it wont hold 20 tins of beans - its ok for the odd pan and a couple of plates. Everyone moans about the grill on this stove - and its not different to all of the grills I have used on camp cookers. If you want toast - be patient!

+ Burner, gas consumption, BBQ convertible, 10 kg to carry, general instructions and attractive price!- Instruction to open attached leg's, ignition poor, weak hood stopper and poor joint to leg's of the net-shelf. Not yet boiled over, but might be hard work to clean the burner??

Only used it once in ten new forest campsite for 3 days end of july. Worked very well, side shelves and bottom shelf very useful. Serious tip, don't use gas appliances inside the modern SIG (sewn in groundsheet) tents. I used this outdoors, and it perform well.

Really easy to set up, gave it 5 stars because it does what it says on the box and does all you want it to do - one small complaint would be that although it has a fast heat it is difficult to regulate if you just want something to simmer.

The Cooker arrived on time and well packed. It did not however have a empty Gas Bottle as described in the offer. It clearly states it includes a empty 907 in the description.that cost me another £65 for the full bottle.

Nice stove, perhaps could have been better engineered as a couple of minor snags have arisen but not bad enough to return it. Great heat source.Recommended if you want a good stove but not if you are a perfectionist.

Was attracted by the legs and the double burner. Makes a big difference and we now can cook more complicated meals when we are camping. Quality is excellent-- will last a long long time.

Took this camping recently on a family trip - it was excellent. I liked that the stove was at a comfortable cooking height and the burners were really powerful.

Easy setup and good performance. Very compact.I had to use a match to light the first couple of times, and then the ignition kicked in.

Really pleased with this item. The only downside is that it takes a while to clean after BBQ-ing - but highly recommended
