------------------------------------- 8 Month Update ----------------------------------------So, I still LOVE my bottle, but the nozzle hinge has worn down with daily use and now the bite valve will no longer stay folded in the down position. You can try to push it down, but it'll pop back up like what is shown in the picture. It seems as though this hinge should last longer than 6 months so I'm marking the bottle down a star. It's still great and still works as-expected, you just can't lock the bite valve down, and if you're going to travel with it or carry it in a bag, you now have to worry about potential leakage. You can replace the rubber bite valve if you need to, however, replacing the bite valve will not get the hinge function working again since the hinge detent is located further down. Hopefully, this defeciency is fixed in future iterations of the design.------------------------------------- Original Review -----------------------------------------Love, love, love, my Camel water bottle! It is working so dang good here on my desk at work. I fill it up in the morning at home with ice cold water, and it's still cold at the end of the day. Oh, it also fits perfectly in my cars cup holder, so that is really nice. The finger loop is big, strong, and slightly flexible (rubberized) so it won't snap if dropped. The mouth spout is easy to close with one hand, though opening it with one hand is difficult at first, it does loosen up over time. The tube inside is easily removed for cleaning the tube or the lid. The top screws off easily and there are no issues there, and the "rain" color is very calming and quite attractive for a guy or girl. The only downside that some may have with this bottle is that it is not meant for hot liquids, and I think that's for 2 reasons. First, you are sipping through a wide plastic tube so you could really burn your throat, and second, the bottle is made of metal, so there would be some heat transfer (even though it is insulated). That aside, I love this bottle and can't wait to get more use out of it. There can be some small amount of leakage from the bottle when it is on its side, so be aware of that. If there's one thing I dislike about this bottle, it's the same problem I have with all stainless steel bottles. If you ever drop this bottle and the bottom gets dented, it's not going to stand properly and wobble (or maybe not even stand at all). These types of bottles get dropped on their bottom all the time, so this is a fairly common occurrence. I'd appreciate it if they would modify the design of the bottom of the bottle such that it would be more durable in this regard (like a stronger or rubber bottom). If you have any questions, just ask in the comments and I'll try and respond promptly.

The CamelBak Eddy Insulared Water bottle works really well. I fill this water bottle up with iced green tea in the morning and sip it throughout the day. It remains cold and the bottle doesn't get sweaty. Which is really nice. The water bottle I had previously been using for my iced green tea was not insulated and would drip water and leave water rings. It was made the bottle very slippery to hold. I've also started to use it at night for water. My spouse is breastfeeding. She needs to drink a glass of water after each feeding. Having a water bottle that holds more than one cup if water and keeps the water cold has been great for her. The other water bottle she had been using wasn't insulated.By the baby's 4 am feeding the water was no longer cold. I don't know why we didn't think to get an insulated water bottle sooner. The straw on the lid is made so you can just use your thumb to flip the mouthpiece up without having to touch it. Which is nice, because you don't want you dirty hands touching the mouthpiece. My one complaint is that the mouthpiece lays flat exposed. It would be nice if it had some sort of cover for extra protection. It probably won't bother most people, but I have a toddler that is always touching my water bottles trying to drink out of them. The top and straw are top rack dishwasher safe, but the bottle portion is not. For convenience, I prefer everything to be dishwasher safe. But it is an insulated cup so I understand that exposing it to the high temperature water would be damaging. It's just a small extra step to wash it by hand. But we've been using it so frequently, we would be washing it before running the dishwasher anyway. The bottle is too big to fit properly in my cup holder in the car. It does fit in the cup holders that have the pop out hanging expandable arm grip holder. Overall, I would highly recommend this insulated CamelBak bottle. Plus they have a lifetime warranty.

Had this for a little more than five months. I love this water bottle, I switched to this from a Hydro Flask because I wanted a straw lid (HF does have straw lids but they cost as much as this entire bottle does) and I figured the CamelBak bite valve would be a good way to do it. It worked really well and I was happy with it. The valve was a bit still for the first week or so but then became a bit more malleable. The only problem I've had with this bottle is the lid, after about four months of daily use the joint for the bite valve stopped functioning correctly and the straw wouldn't stay folded down and would pop up on its own. This was only a minor annoyance at first but now small amounts of water leak out of the lid and water will trickle out if the bottle is upside down. The only solution I could find was a replacement lid through the CamelBak website, which was $10 not including shipping. That's a bummer but ok.Compared to a HF this bottle is not as well insulated. My old hydro would keep water ice cold for 7 to 8 hours, this one will keep the water cool for about 3 hours and then by the 5 hour mark it's at room temperature. That was also a bummer. If you've got the extra funds, go for a HF with a straw lid, but for the cost this water bottle is still very tough and has kept me mostly happy.

Camelbak is really the gold standard in hydration products. My first Camelbak was a backpack containing a bag that could be filled with water, perfect for hiking. These days I don't hike, but I needed a water bottle for work. I have been using a Tervis tumbler with a screw-on lid, but the spout is very wide, so I usually fill it up and pour the water into a glass. I absolutely love the spout on Camelbak products - it's a flexible piece, you bite on the perimeter to open it and then sip through the straw inside. The color is great, the water stays cold, and the little loop on the top is awesome for carrying it around. There are two factors that prevent a 5 star rating for me,and both are a matter of personal preference rather than product quality.Although the water tastes fine, I am generally not that keen on stainless steel water bottles. I'm sure they're more hygienic, and there is no metallic taste, but personally I would be happier if it were plastic. Also I wish it held more water. However, it's attractive and sturdy and will work great for a lot of people.Edited to add: Amazon sells plastic CamelBak bottles, both insulated and non-insulated, in a variety of sizes and at attractive price points. I received this product through the Amazon Vine program in exchange for my review.

I hardly ever write reviews, but I LOVE this water bottle. I originally got it to take with me to the theme park. I searched high and low for this, as I wanted an insulated water bottle with a straw... but it was hard to find one that was fully close-able. I hate the water bottles without a straw, but I wanted to be able to close the bottle and be confident that it would be tightly sealed so I could carry it in my backpack. This was perfect for that! I packed it super full of ice (and water) before heading out to the theme parks, and I was able to refill the bottle at the water fountains and still have ice all day! I should also mention it was 90+ degrees outside. It only leaked once, but that was my fault because I didn't screw the cap on straight. Now I always test it by flipping it upside down after filling, no leaking since then. Even after the theme park trip, I now use this bottle all the time! I always have it with me now. I fill it up before getting in the car to go anywhere, and it's the perfect size to be able to just throw in my purse. I'm drinking sooooo much more water now because of this bottle.

I was frustrated as the first lid I received was defective and it only sucked air. I phoned CamelBak and the customer service staff was friendly and said it's a defective lid and/or straw. I got the replacment which had to have the straw cut down, and it still did not work. I was really upset. I saw others were not having the problem so I removed the straw and flipped it to the other end (they look the same) and tried it again and it worked normally. This is a fairly lightweight water bottle and it kept my drink cold for over 8 hours, which I did for the test. I drink my water faster than that so I don't need it to stay cold that long but for me the issue is hot air outdoors heating up the interior of the bottle, this insulated vacuum water bottle helps. I like that the drinking spout flips down and has a little raised area so you don't have to touch the part you drink out of to move it. It has a small ring so you can carry it with fingers looped through or you can attach it to a backpack with a carabiner. The metallic blue finish has unisex appeal. I rate this 5 stars = I Love It now that is works fine.

This is a fantastic water bottle that will be replacing my not well-liked Contigo Autospout plastic bottle. On the surface, there doesn't seem to be much difference between the two apart from the bottle material, but I found that drinking from the Contigo made me look like I had a baby bottle (it forced me to upturn the bottle and suck the water down); the Camelbak has three major advantages over this other product: first, it's metal and seems quite thickly insulated; second, there's a straw so that you can leave the bottle upright while drinking; third, the spout needs to be bitten to let the water come up, which prevents the drink from accidentally spilling.Granted, all of these "pluses" for me could be minuses for others: the metal prevents seeing how much water you've got left; the straw means less room for ice and an additional thing to clean; the bite spout is one extra step between you and the water. But still, I've been very satisfied with Camelbak items in the past, and I'm very satisfied with this particular item. It fits perfectly into the side pouch of my backpack, and doesn't leak at all.

If you're looking for a way to keep your water cold for a summer hike, here it is. This vacuum bottle from the backpack and cycling hydration specialists CamelBak has a leak-proof spout and sturdy insulated construction for demanding outdoor use. Some people might like the finger hook integrated into the top. I don't. When my husband and I hike we like to have both hands free to operate our cameras and, on occasion, grab a rock or branch for balance. For a vacuum/insulated bottle, it's light, but it's still heavier than a plastic water bottle, so when filled with water, holding on your finger might deprive your pinky of feeling for a week. If you have one of those belts with a water carrier, though, it will fit. You could also put it in a day pack with your snacks and sunscreen or attach it to your belt with one of those (sturdy) metal swivel clips construction guys use for their keys. I suggest trying it out on a local walk before taking it on a long hike so you can find the best way to carry it. Then, enjoy nice icy water for hours!

The CamelBak Eddy Vacuum Insulated Stainless Water Bottle is awesome! We had a heat wave recently and I got to try this bottle out with ice inside. There was zero sweating! I am really loving the fact this bottle doesn't sweat all over the place. It keeps my surfaces protected, bags dry, and hands from getting wet. Not to mention the bottle keeps me drink cool for hours on end!The drinking spout is completely drip free. There's no spilling whatsoever. I shook this bottle, held it upside down for awhile and nothing came out. I like that when walking or exercising that I only have to use one hand to get to the drink out of the bottle thanks to the flip top drinking spout. It took me some getting used to the spout as I had to lightly press or bite down to sip the water out. But otherwise this bottle works well.I like that's it's durable with 18/8 stainless steel and BPA/BPS-free materials. The color is quite nice too! I would certainly recommend this bottle and hoping to snag one for my husband soon.

How many times have you brought a water bottle filled with icy cold water on a hike or walk or bike ride only to find the water unpleasantly warm by the end of the trek? For me, too many. Luckily Camelback, one of the most respected names in athletic hydration, has solved the problem with this insulated Eddy water bottle. I really put it to the test. I filled the bottle half full of ice and the rest with cold water. Then, I put it in a warm sunny window next to the kitchen range while I prepared a variety of meals. After 12 hours, there was still some ice in the bottle. After 24 hours, the ice was gone but the water was still cold and fresh tasting. Though this is designed for cold beverages,I did test its warmth retention, and it kept warm water wam for twelve hours. The bottle really is spill proof as well, primarily because the spout is the bite and sip variety (not my favorite aspect of the bottle, but easy enough to get used to.) The bottle is also lightweight and easy to carry. Perfect.

This is a pretty "cool" bottle. It keeps my ice for the better part of a day. The handle is perfect, and I sure do love the rain color scheme.A bicycle bottle cage will not hold it, unless I can find just a sleeve without the protruding clip, but that's not its fault. This bottle is best for the car. It is fantastic to have while meandering through my local farmers' market on a hot summer day.The only worry I have is with the possibility of bacteria building up in the drinking spout. A soaped up cotton swab is the best method I can come up with for cleaning the spout.I read something about no strange bottle flavor, and although I did a thorough hand wash, my water tastes a bit plastic. If it gets better after a machine wash, I'll come back to make it known, but I'm a water fiend, and I am quite keen on flavors, from tap to spring, and everywhere between.Overall, this is a fairly awesome bottle. Insulated is certainly the way to go if you appreciate the coldness of a refreshing drink.

I’m a fan of CamelBak bottles for my bicycle so when I saw this one I had to bite. My intention was to use it at the office but for that purpose I don’t like it as much as my other bottles (Klean Kanteen and Sigg) even though they don’t keep the liquid cold for nearly as long. My complaint with the Eddy is the mouthpiece. It’s a straw with a rubber end that you have to bite and suck to draw the liquid out. Drinking feels like work and you certainly don’t look dignified while doing so. It’s a good bottle choice for an activity like hiking, camping or going to the beach but not a good choice for when sitting at your desk at work. However, the bottle is fairly heavy so you’re not going to use it while running or on a bike unless you want to deal with the added weight. That’s the price you pay for good insulation. The good news is that the straw and mouthpiece are easy to disassemble and clean and it certainly does keep liquids cold for a very long period of time.

This water bottle is fantastic. Having been an owner of the regular Eddy for years, I was ecstatic when CamelBak came out with a stainless steel insulated version! I live in Florida, and was getting really tired of having my water get tepid very quickly, and all the condensation on the outside as a result. With this water bottle I no longer have that issue! Water stays cold for hours.Pros:No condensation on the outside of my water bottle. Huzzah!Keeps water cold for hours, even in the heatDurable construction - my toddler has already thrown it multiple times onto tile floor and concrete and it only has a minor dent in itOne-hand spout release, which is handy when you are frequently wrangling a tiny humanNo spillsCons:To keep it the same size (vacuum insulation takes up space, yo) it only holds 20 oz, vs the 24 oz of the regular EddyIt doesn't do hot liquids. I would love another lid that I could swap out for hot drinksIt doesn't come in kid-size

I love this Camel Bak, BUT, I am new to the sippy thing and it took me a few rides (inspired by great thirst) to actually "get" the way to bite the valve to get the water to flow out. It takes some finesse, I have to tell you. So, anyway, one pretty weird thing that I have to mention is that the bite valve thing seems to invite little things to grow inside it, which mercifully are visible due to the clear nature of the material that the valve is constructed from. If you go the route of the Camel Bak, please make sure you develop a good routine for bite valve hygiene. Nobody likes the taste of moldy (gag) water and black stuff in your bite valve is just downright nasty.Documentation that came with the product did not include any care and feeding instructions on the bite valve, either (just for the record). Overall, nice bottle. Built to take a beating. Keeps water cool for a good long while, etc. Just the bite valve...(oy) will need to be watched.

Wow. This is the first really good water bottle I have owned. This one is fantastic. It is a little pricey, but worth every penny. The durable, double-walled stainless steel construction keeps cold drinks cold, for hours. The bottle has a wide mouth, which means it is easy to clean and it is also large enough to accommodate ice cubes. I also love the bright blue color. One thing to note, the cap and water delivery system (which works great) are made of plastic materials, so this unit cannot be used for hot drinks, and that is stated on the bottom of the bottle, as well. Overall, I am extremely pleased with this bottle, and I highly recommend it for your own hydration requirements. It's absolutely perfect.UPDATE: Just to give you a better idea at how well this bottle works, I can fill it with water and a few ice cubes and the water will still be refrigerator-cold 24 hours later. I am not kidding. You have go to try this for yourself!
