Edit: I was able to get three of these bottles for the price of 1 on Amazon via big box store. Amazon charges full retail + some more. I recommend shopping around.------------Our 5 year old son (in Senior Kindergarten) likes this water bottle and we are trying to graduate him out of the Playtex preschool ones he was using the last few years. We looked at Nalgene, but none of them seemed appropriate for his use. We opted not to buy the Camelbak bite valve version because we can't find replacement parts easily in our area.He can open this Camelbak himself with no problem and close it. He is careful to make sure he closes it properly or else it will leak water all over his bag.Depending on your child's ability to be mindful to twist close the cap ALL THE WAY, this may not be for him/her.One thing we don't like about this bottle is that it sticks out of his 'bottle' holder at the side of his backpack. The bottle is short, but the lid is wide with a handle. Therefore, this bottle won't slide down nicely into his side bottle pocket on his backpack like is old water bottle - there is a potential it can fall out.Cleaning - it comes apart in 3 pieces: the cap, the lid and the bottle. There are two plastic gaskets: on the lid and cap which you cannot take out to clean. So overtime, this may accumulate impurities/mold from the water - we shall see.Otherwise, it is a water bottle. Does the job. He decorated it with vinyl stickers (his name and a superhero logo). Loves it. I would not provide this bottle to anyone less than 5 years old because of the dexterity you need to twist the cap open, pull the cap off and put the cap back on and twist all the way to close properly. We practiced at home several times until he was Ok with it.

I keep this nearby when sleeping, so I can take an early morning pill and than go back to sleep. The bottle is perfect! When closed it is absolutely leakproof (in case I knock it over!). It is very lightweight and easy to open and close the top of the bottle. The opening at the top of bottle is large so it is easy to clean the inside of bottle.

These are the best water bottles among those I have purchased. They are overall easy to clean but the cap could get moldy. I especially like the magnet that keeps the cap out of the way while drinking the water. We have been using it for at least a year and it's good as new.

This is a Great bottle and easy to clean with less small pieces then the kids camelbak. I wish we had bought this one first! My little guy had no issues with the top after showing him how to use it and it is much easier to clean with less pieces to lose or break

Love this bottle, take it whenever I leave the house, the 12 oz size fits my cup holder and my briefcase well and is short enough to fill from water fountains. I have 9 Camelbak bottles of various sizes and this is my “go-to”.

Great water bottle... doesn't leak, easy to open, I like the magnet on the cap... Love this bottle... I bought two and they both were actually stolen after a few weeks, so I guess everyone loves this bottle!

Great bottle, works wonderful for my 3 year old. Yesterday was the first time that the bottle “ exploded “ with carbonated water. It was a little bit difficult to put the lid back on.But the size is great!

Really like the bottle, magnetic cap worms wonders. No leakage. Does the job. Only if they could attach a string/ band for holding the bottle so that qould be great and easy for kida to carry

My son loves his new water bottle. As the mom my only complaint is the opening is too narrow to use the fridge water dispenser, we have to push with our hands and hold bottle under to fill.

This is such an excellent water bottle. It,s light and compact. Most importantly, it doesn’t leak and it is easy for my child to use. Very happy with the purchase. And NO MOLDY STARWS!!

I love CamelBak bottles for my kids. They done leak and withstand being dropped many times. We usually get the spout and straw design but found this style and love it even more!!

This water bottle is great...ordered them for my kids to bring to school. They are holding up great....put them in the dishwasher after every use and they still look like new.

Gifts for my 3 and 5yr old kids. It’s not “sleep proof” Ie kid falls asleep with the top Open in the car and it will spill. Other than that, it’s durable and easy to use

The magnet for the lid is amazing. The sipper is amazing. No gaskets or hard to clean pieces. We love camelbak! Definitely recommend this mag chute over the straw one.
