A great way to cook and/or have a barbecue whilst away, or even for use at home if you prefer not to wait 45 minutes for your charcoal to be ready to cook on. The Safari Chef is small and light enough to fit in even a small cars’ boot, but is versatile enough to cater for most of your hot food needs whilst travelling. Size wise, it will comfortably cater for 2-3 adults, or a 2 adults and 2 children at a single sitting. From a full “fry-up” at breakfast, burgers for lunch, and even a full roast for dinner, the different cooking surfaces and container included allow a range of different “dry and wet” dishes to be prepared. The Cadac Safari Chef 2 HP is a really good BBQ. Packs down small. Very portable (the zip top has 2 inner slots for grill racks / grill and pot lid. I kept the round card packaging and bubble wrap to strengthen base of the bag and to wrap pot in.) Fat drip catcher works well - no mess. Easy to clean. Cooks whole fish well - directly on the grill, no need to wrap it in foil (just a wipe over w.a little oil on the skin stop it sticking). Steaks and veggies grill well too.The grill cools down quickly after cooking.I do love a charcoal BBQ but it’s such a faffing faff and so messy. This is a brilliant alternative.You can buy the gas canisters in bulk to save ££.

First time cooking proper dinners at a camp site,m! It was so easy to use (I got the regulator that meant I could use the screw on canisters) so easy to clean, except the fat pan but if I found if I gave that a light coating of oil it sorted that problem. Haven’t used the lid as a wok yet (as I also bought the paella pan) but plan to do a stir fry next trip away to try it out.

Great little bbq. Had a trial run at home, but will be using in our motorhome. Very easy to use and store away in its own little storage bag. We received the LITE version by mistake but Lucy from Dawson’s dept store soon rectified and sent the flat plate that we were missing! Thanks Lucy.

So lovely to sit in the garden most nights this month and cook up some bits for tea. The kids have loved it. So much easier and cleaner than barbecuing when it’s a work night and you want it to be quick. Can’t wait to take it on a beach.

Cadac safari are now made of plastic,so if you can find an older metal one buy it.Also if you decide to get the quick release fitting the legs dont fold flat.

Genuinely surprised how good this is. Had a cheap gas bbq before so didn't have high hopes but this is dead simple and cooks really well.

Brilliant grill we have used this a number of times now to cook a variety of foods from BBQ to breakfast. Easy to use and easy to clean.
