The trouble with trying to find an abnormally tiny collapsible lens hood is that your options become slightly more limited. Most of what's available in this size seems to be generic stuff of dubious quality and build. I spent a long time looking at poor quality hoods made from thin, shiny rubber and that were poorly attached to a cheap plastic threaded mounting ring. None of those issues occur with this hood - it's a high quality item from a highly respected brand. The rubber is sturdy and will not fold back on itself unless you want it to, unlike the Dorr offering. You'll also notice from the image that the surface is matt and that instead of being smooth on the inner face it has a lot of fine ridges. All this is carefully designed to prevent glare and it does a very good job too.If you own a camera with a lens that has a 40.5mm thread, and you need a lens hood, then I highly recommend you buy this one. It folds down for easy and light storage and it does its job very well indeed. It's the best available, and I know because I've exhaustively researched it for you!I purchased this for my wonderful Pentax system Q camera - the 40.5mm thread fits the Q-01 8.5mmPrime, the Q-02 5-15mm zoom and the Q-06 15-45mm Telephoto zoom. If you haven't tried a Q you should, it's like a minute DSLR and it's great fun to use. In fact, it's the worlds smallest interchangeable lens camera. An entire kit fits into a coat pocket!

Used with a Sony A6000 standard lens there is barely detectable vignetting at the wide angle setting. It is not enough to worry me for 99% of shots and the odd one or two can easily be 'Photoshopped' out if it does bother me.Using it stacked on the front of a filter, which is how I generally use it, it does cause very noticeable vignetting. For each shot I need to decide which is most important - the sun shield or the filter? If the sun is not a problem, I simply fold it back and the problem goes away. If I really need to use the sun shield I have to go through the palaver of removing the filter and re-fitting the lens hood.It only takes a few seconds but it feels like an age if your subject is transitory. As well as helping as a sun shield it gives the lens some protection from knocks. It also fits inside my Every Ready case with just a very slight push to get the case closed. All in all well worth having, nice and cheap and it seems well enough made to last a few years.I can't fault it.

It is a collapsible rubber lens hood made by B+W and is therefore good.It is well stuck to it's metal ring unlike many others and pops in and out a treat. The metal ring is quite deep and threaded male and female.I have removed a star due to depth of ring and the fact it is not a three position hood. So, I bought it to go on my little travel camera a lumix lx 100. As this will be subjected to dusty environs I have taped up all the silly mic holes and popped on a uv protective filter. I have stacked said hood on the filter and get vignette at about 35mm with it retracted and about 50mm with it pulled out. Without the filter I get about 28 in and 40 out.A lot of these small cameras have deeply fitted lenses and I think it is a general problem with hoods,we just have to make do.Oh and you can get the original lens cap on and of even when it is extended. It's a lens Hood.

Not the cheapest of the collapsible rubber lens hood options on Amazon, but sometimes it is worth paying a little more to get the right quality. This B&W branded item is not 'floppy' at all, unlike some of the cheaper ones according to reviews. It holds its shape perfectly, folds down simply and easily, and there is no unevenness where it screws into the lens (see photos). The 52mm is a perfect fit for the Lumix FZ330 this is now sitting on. In use, I have not found it problematical in use and have not noticed any vignetting - if I did then I would probably just use a UV filter alongside it, but as I say this hasn't proved necessary so far.

This is an ideal product for any photographer, be they amateur or professional. I have recently completed a series of shoots at the UK's zoological gardens and when shooting through glass, be it the Aquarium or any other glass/perspex enclosure I was able to press the rubber lens hood tightly against it to gain a tight seal between lens and glass, allowing a reflection free seal.I will be purchasing other sizes for my other Canon lenses. Far better than paying over the odds for a lens hood from Canon who unless you purchase a L series lens expect you to purchase a lens hood.

The B+W Lenshood 900 isn't cheap but it is the only rubber hood I can live with. I've tried many of the cheaper brands and some seem "ok", but after a little use I find myself finding reasons not to use them - a sure sign that something about them is annoying in some way. Not so the B+W though, and I now have several of them in various sizes. This is the latest addition, bought in this case at a useful saving from Amazon Warehouse. Someone obviously didn't like it and returned it; their loss is my gain :-)

Perfect for my Fuji XF 23mm f/2. To avoid any slight vignetting I attached directly to the lens and placed my UV filter within the screw mount of the lens hood. No vignette and no bother. It looks like good quality thick rubber so should hopefully last a good while, B+W is a good manufacturer. So good infact, I've ordered another in the same size for my 35mm f/2. Should be sorted come rain or shine now. Thanks

This is the second of these that I have purchased. The quality is great and the improvement to video (or photo) quality is really noticeable. In addition, fitting one of these adds further protection to the camera lens front element as well. I can thoroughly recommend this product (be sure to specify the desired attachment thread diameter from the given list when ordering.

I like these lens hoods as they are collapsible rubber, so will fold back to fit in a camera bag. They can be adjusted to suit wide angle lenses too. There are a number of similar items available on Amazon, but most are poorly made and fall apart. These are more expensive, but by far the best.

This collapsible lenses hood, works great on my fujifilm X100V with the LCL-100 II.Obviously it obstructs the optical viewfinder but that was expected. No obvious vingenenting through the digital viewfinder. It does cause shadows using the built in flash but OK with hot shoe flash

As the Canon EF-M 22mm lens needs a screw in lens hood, the B+W collapsible hood is much safer than the rigid hoods sold by Canon and other manufacturers. Because it is collapsible, it folds right back when not in use. It is well made.

It feels like quality, to replace the awful Fuji lens hood for my 55-200, which I can't take on and off easily, so often don't bother using it (bad practice, I know!). This stays on the lens and even fits in the camera bag.

Excellent product for my Panasonic bridge camera. Just need to ensure it is pushed back flat at 35 but great across rest of zoom. Lens cap still fits with it on the camera and fully retractable so is permanently attached

Hood is very well made, looks good and folds back neatly if required. The filter thread is good quality and screws into the lens smoothly - much better than the cheaper ones. I will be buying some more of these.

This fits the Panasonic DMC CM1 perfectly. DMC CM1 is a Camera first, smartphone and doesn't have much in the way of lens protection. This hood does the job and flattens down so I can still get it in my pocket
