Should you want to create something a little different from the norm with your photography in normal light conditions then this will help do the job.Obviously a tripod or some support for the camera is a must when using one of these filters.Attached to your lens either directly or using a step up ring it will reduce the amount of light reacing the sensor by 10 stops.This means you can get those milky smooth waterfalls or seascapes at most times of day in all but direct sunshine.Make sure you compose the shot and focus before attaching the filter as it is so dark you will not clearly see the image through the viewfinder, allow for a bit of magenta cast by adjusting the white balance a little cooler (or do it later in post processing)

Expensive, but of very high quality. With this is attached to your Lens it s very difficult to focus, well impossible really, you have to focus with the filter off first, then reattach, a bit of a fiddle, and the use of a good tripod is necessary, or you'll move out of frame your subject. Take a light reading then set you exposure manually, a iPhone app/Android app will come in handy on your smart phone to work out your exposure time, you could also download a exposure chart too. Some experimenting and patients will reward you. you could try a cheaper make to practice first, then decide on the B&W? Why not go to [...] and search for ND110,

It is an expensive item, but it provides limitless creative possibility specially with running water e.g waterfall, torrent. A steady tripod is a MUST when using this item.
