I had been looking for a light to fit on the seatstay as opposed to the seat post, something which is a bit of a rarity it seems.I always ride with a flashing rear light attached to the seatpost and a permanent/non-flashing rear light on the seatstay.I saw this light for sale at a bargain price and thought it was worth giving it a go, the spec seemed a bit basic as it's not USB rechargeable, it only uses AAA batteries and the lumen output was a lot lower than that publicised by other manufacturers.Upon receiving the light it feels solidly built and the size is relatively compact, the mounting "bracket" is a bit odd as you have to use a cable tie to attach it to the frame. It never feels as tightly secured as I'd like but it hasn't moved around at all in the few weeks I've been using it and it doesn't rattle at all so I can't complain. The light output is actually very good and can be seen clearly from a considerable distance, something I was very pleased about (I do have to question some manufacturers quoted output figures as I've had plenty of rear lights which claim the Earth but rarely deliver, this one didn't promise much but over delivered which is fantastic). The fact its got a built in reflector is also comforting to know.I use Amazonbasics AAA rechargeable batteries with this and the battery life has been very good, 2 weeks of daily commuting plus long weekend social rides before a recharge was needed.Update - After the first couple of charges the batteries are now lasting much longer, now over 3 weeks which is excellent.

I wanted a rear light that mounts to the mudguard and this does and has a reflector area as well. Its been on my bike for about 2 years and uses AAA batteries. It is a good bright light especially at night. It doesn't have a flashing mode - because I have read the German standards don't allow this. I think, as a car driver, in those slightly dull winter days a flashing light is easier seen than a solid one. ( it also saves your batteries). Therefore for me it would be perfect if it had a flashing mode so only 4 stars.
