I have fitted this to my Brompton as a replacement for the standard B&M halogen lamp as I was fed up with replacing bulbs at £5 a time. It is easy-ish to fit, using the supplied dynamo cable to the Shimano hub dynamo and replacing the existing rear light connectors with 2.8mm spade connectors from Halfords (they're sold as speaker connectors).The amount of light is pretty impressive and well focussed, giving an even rectangle of light ahead and a spread of light close to. I've just tested it in dark country lanes and it's certainly bright enough for that at a reasonably fast pace. It will be pretty good for city cycling too, especially with the standlight function and the side illumination,

Compact and bright, easily installed, and the "stand light" ("Plus" versions; internal capacitor to keep the light running for a while when you stop – it's a dynamo light remember) is worthwhile and lasts longer than expected after stopping. Haven't really noticed the "senso" automatic sensor feature, but I guess that means it's working correctly.

The B&M lights are really good, both in performance and quality (really well build, solid materials and nice design). They used to be market leaders a couple of years back but not anymore. The competition has improved a lot. This light is still good value, considering it delivers 30 lux for £30.

THE BEST VALUE FRONT LIGHT FOR A DYNAMO EQUIPPED BIKE, LIGHT GOOD ENOUGH FOR UNLIT CYCLE PATHS IF YOU KEEP YOUR SPEED DOWN. WORKS WELL WITH THE B&M TOP LIGHT FLAT ON THE REAR. STAND LIGHT FUNCTION WORKS WELL AND GIVES ALL THE ADVANTAGES OF A BATTERY POWERED LIGHT WITHOUT THE COST OF BATTERIES.

Together with the corresponding dynamo, as well as the corresponding backlight, I have a lighting system that is far brighter than my old one and achieves this by taking far less power from my pedalling.

Excellent pattern of light on the road - fine on my journey down country lanes with no street lights. Stand light feature is excellent when at traffic lights or stationary. Easy to fit, good connectors.

Really good light, emits bright enough power. I used it on a night ride and was good for seeing in front of me. not the brightest but definitely functional for seeing in the dark.
