I was very disappointed with this too, having remembered a tricky game of skill. This wouldn't buck at first, and I had to be deliberately clumsy when playing it with our five-year-old daughter. However, after a few goes, it seems to have improved, now being quite tricky to avoid setting off on the hardest level. I believe that the plastic 'trigger' could have sharp edges, that when worn slightly through initial use, become more 'slippery'. Our daughter loves it, so it's avoided being taken back to the shops. I might add some small weights to some of the smaller items, for added challenge, but it does seem to get better!

We initially could not get our mule to buck, but found that we were being too gentle when putting the blanket in place and the saddle. A bit of brute force was all we needed! Now our mule bucks at each of the levels and is fun for all.As a child I used to visit family friends who had Buckaroo; we did not have it at home and I loved it, now my two sons are getting the toys I always wanted!March 2013 - It's now a few years on and we have passed this on to friends with young grandchildren, so it's durable as well as fun!

I bought this for my niece for Christmas who is 7 and she loves it. It is easy to set up and all the pieces feel sturdy. There are 3 'difficulty' settings which make the buck more or less sensitive which is great when playing with younger children, but even on the most sensitive setting it seems to take a lot of pressure to set it off meaning you get almost all the pieces on every time and it seems more predictable than the older version, didn't bother the children though so still a great game.

Great game even now at 24 i still love it and had to get my daughter it for christmas and she loves it too, easpcially on boxing day i loved it more my kids sat a played this for hours and invented a game within the game you got a sweet for each time he didnt buck but the thing i loved most about this day as they're wasnt 1 single bit of technology in sight which was the best feeling it was like going back years to the days kids played reminded me of my childhood and for that i love this game

I bought this for my niece's birthday, but I decided to keep it for myself (I gave her some book in the end). Boy this took me back to the good old days before computer games and mobile phones, when your sole source of fun and enjoyment came from Hasbro board games and the occasional Disney movie. On that note, why hasn't this been made into a film? Anyway, I digress. A really fun game. Perfect for playing with mates after a few bevvies. Or even on your own... after a few bevvies.

Bought for 3 yr old, read various reviews saying it wasn't very sensitive but presumed it was adults being too gentle, however they were right! There are 3 sensitivity settings, but even at the most sensitive we couldn't set it off! That includes a clumsy 3 year old.The solution - PLASTICINE!! Stuff some into the various bits to put on the mule & hey presto - a great game!! Hopefully hasbro will make the pieces heavier but it's a great fix and I now have a v happy daughter!

Buckaroo, same old buckaroo great fun & been around so long great to see your kids play with the same games you did, the only thing i would say is i think all board games are very pricey these days when they should be a bit more cheaper as you would rather your kids played board games than sitting infront of a computer screen, so not much encouragement when board games are the same price as computer games! Other than that a good, all round family fun game 5 stars!!

I purchased this for my grand children, Lilly-Mae, J.J.& C.J.- as I had hours of fun with Buckaroo when I was a child.Of course the materials and set up have developed over time, but the outcome, still brings the laughs and shocks to all,as it did me, all those years ago. The first time I set the "Buck" off, everyone jumped..A toy that every household should have, the joy this toy brings is priceless..

Following a riding accident my wife had this seemed a really good present (among others I hasten to add) to buy her for Christmas. The game is simplicity itself to play, doesn't cost a fortune, great for all ages (my wife's 97 year old aunt really enjoyed playing it) and the manual dexterity required is quite testing ;- we have had a lot of fun playing a game which has been around since I was a child.

Great game that I had when I was young, long time ago now, but it hasn't lost it's charm! My kids love games and they're just getting in to all the ones I've played before. My children are still relatively young, so this game is beautifully simple for them to enjoy. They jump when the horse bucks and laugh loads! Some cracking games available at Argos and well priced too.

Fond memories of this great game from my childhood. My children loved it just as much as I did I'm happy to say. We were all squealing with laughter throughout. It's not a game they grow bored with either and will play it happily for an hour (amazing- only the tablet abd tv get that much attention usually) I secretly love being able to play it again

I bought this as a birthday gift for my 7 year old grandson. We set it up, but it was faulty. It has three settings, the easiest of which was so sensitive it was impossible to play. It wouldn't set at all on the mid level. I took it back and it was changed with no hassle at all, thanks Argos. The replacement was fine and great fun.

I bought this for my 5 yr old daughter, I this is great at this age for learning how to balance the pieces. Also giving them an idea of hw much & how many items to put before it bucks. It isn't a game she play with all the time but enjoys when she does. It's well built too & when I bought this was on offer, so great value.

Was a bit Concerned after reading some of the reviews but decided to take a chance on this anyway.Ok it is different to the old style buckaroo, but I didn't find that detracted from the fun, my grandson found it hilarious to play with, and the set up was easy I had no problems with saddle etc staying on.

This item was purchased for my grandsons up coming birthday, and as not yet been opened therefore cannot give a 5 star review. However it does appear to be an ideal gift for a 5 year old. We have purchased Hasbro toys previously and never had a problem with them, hopefully this will be the same.
